i have one grid which have 5 columns 1 for subject,2,3,4 for marks which have textbox to insert obtained marks,and last column have one lable to display total of (2+3+4),now i want total value on textbox event,when user enter any value to any column of textbox i need to display total of all three columns in total column.
I am using Form View to Insert Data using ObjectDataSource Visual Studio2010.
It is running fine, taking values inserting and then showing in grid view using SqlDataSource.. also editing in detailsview using SqlDataSource.
1. My Column EmployeeID is of String nature.now i dont want the user to input Employeeid, i want E-123 type value. and i want to get the max id from table and +1 before inserting new record. what are the step to do it.
2. I want to display status column as check box in detailsview. it is again string type and taking values T or F. how to do it?
3. Status Checkbox need to be displayed in Grid View also.
I am facing one issue with MaskEditExtender (Ajax Control) control. If anyone knows solution please let me know.
I am having one TextBox aassociated with mask edit extender control. While editing the textbox values, value getting replaced instead of added.
Ex: Supose in my textbox if i have value as 1234, then i want to make it as 12534 so i entered 5 after 2. But am not getting result as expected, its showing as 1254 (means 3 is getting replaced with 5).
in tat i was binding the table values like name,price and two textboxes for quantity and another one for total textbox for calulating total depends on quantity with price.
in my database table i have a row that contains minimum quantity=50 and maximum quantitiy=99 and price=0.66.and the min and max qty with price value varies.
i.e) if i enetring some quantites for example 51 during tat time it will fetch the between 50 to 99 price .ie)0.66 and caluclate the total value according to the quantity price i.e)51*0.66 and displayed in total textbox..
i dont want to use button to calculate the total value for each rows.
i entered the quantity at the same time the total will be calculated according to the quantity price.
I have a Gridview with ID "GVSeasonsOfResort" which has selectable rows.
One of the fields in that gridview is RSLinkID which is an ID field of the table from which ths SQLDataSource driving the gridview gets its data.
I have a textbox outside the gridview with ID TxtBxRSLinkID and when I select a row of the Gridview, I want to assign the value of the RSLinkID field of the selected row to the TxtBxRSLinkID.

In my gridview, I have 6 columns. The first 5 columns are filled with data retrieved from database.In the 6th column I want to display a value from textbox from same form. The value should be displayed on the row next to last row of rest of the columns. So my last column (i.e.) 6th column will just have all the rows filled with the same value of the text box.
First 5 columns of grid will be filled by selecting the college name from dropdown.The last colum (Date) must be filled with the date that is given in the textbox.It can be even after button click event(date of attendence).

I've done a bit of development with C# applications but not much with ASP.Net so if this is a trivial issue. I have a webform that has textboxes for password, phone number and a listbox for a provider. When I load up the webpage, I populate with the textboxes and listbox with selections from my SQL database. This works correctly. Then I allow the user to change data in any of controls. In the event that is triggered by the Save button, the values in the textboxes and listbox are the data values that were populated during the loading of the page, not what the user has typed in.
What am I doing wrong? I've attached my 2 pages of code.
