i got checkbox in gridview under like tis. when i checked, it's able to retrieve the value from 3rd (c) column but,
i was unable to assign this value into another textbox (totalAmtTxt).

One of the fields in that gridview is RSLinkID which is an ID field of the table from which ths SQLDataSource driving the gridview gets its data.

1-Allow the user to change the quantity in a textbox i.e // "txtQuantity"
2-capture the newly entered quantity i.e //int integerNewQuantity= int.Parse(textNewQuantity.Text);

Problem:1-I have not been able to capture the text i.e. the newly entered quantity i.e. the value entered in the text box "txtQuantity"
2-Hence the database is updated using the existing value and NOT the new value unless I make a constant assignment as below:

In my gridview, I have 6 columns. The first 5 columns are filled with data retrieved from database.In the 6th column I want to display a value from textbox from same form. The value should be displayed on the row next to last row of rest of the columns. So my last column (i.e.) 6th column will just have all the rows filled with the same value of the text box.
First 5 columns of grid will be filled by selecting the college name from dropdown.The last colum (Date) must be filled with the date that is given in the textbox.It can be even after button click event(date of attendence).

I am having a gridview with dropdownlist and textbox controls.
I am generating a value in the textbox2 depending on the textbox1 value using the javascript in every row of gridview. In onblur() function of textbox2, I am disabling the textbox2.
Before textboxes, I am having dropdownlist's in every row of gridview. when I disable the textbox2 in the first row and select the value of dropdownlist in the second row, the value of textbox2 in first row is not visible.
I tried by using the viewstate but I am unable to retain the value.

The value was not set, despite the TextBox being found. Furthermore, the 'test' label text wasn't being set. I know for certain that both events are firing. I had added the test label to disploay the mode or newmode of the FormView but the label wasn't being set at all.

i am working on a website,As i am new to coding i got a problem in it. It was,I hav a gridview in which i am adding the details about a college, and in that i had a buton ("btnReservation") on clicking it another grid will be appeared in which, i hav to enter the reservation details so, till this step it is working fine, but if i enter one college details and clicking on the btnReservetion the grid is being dispalyed and i am able to enter and save the data, But if i enter the details of another college and clicking on the btnReservation, the rows which i hav already entered in the Reservation grid for the previous record are not being Refreshed and are remaining the same,So now i hav to make the gridview datasource null.

I dont know why my GridView.DataSource is become nothing when the Page.IsPostBack = true.What i did is bind the dataset to the GridView.DataSource when page load. Then when the button click event is trigger i need to get all the records from GridView. I have a gridview in a page, and some Texboxes along with a button(for issuing a command) in the same page. The TextBoxs were inputted values and the values could be assigned to the selected row of the gridview, some fields are the same values along the rows, and the values are inputted in the TextBoxes for using several times without change.
Well, I need to know: how can I assign the values of the TextBoxes to the selected row of the gridview. in another words, how can I access the cell members of the gridview when it is in edit mode? (Q1)
If the row is not selected, I have no way to know which row should be assigned values, since there is no such things like "current row".
So, if the selecting button(or link) of the gridview is not selected, the button along with the TextBoxes should keep disabled, until a row's "Edit" button is clicked. (Q2: How can I find if the Edit button is clicked? I guess I can use the property "mode" of the gridview to indicate the situation. )
And the last question is (Q3), how can I ensure the values are updated to the database? Maybe I dont need to do more things than just click the uppdate button of the row of the gridview.
I am unable to access the data in the gridview's selected row. I have done this lots of times but must be forgetting something.

View 5 RepliesI have a gridview with a template field column. In the edittemplate of that column i have a textbox. In the next column of the gridview i have a button. When i click the button i need to find the value of the before mentioned textbox. I do it like this:
gridview1.selectedrow.findcontrol("textbox1"). This sometimes work just fine and without a problem but sometimes it seems it can't find that control and throws a null reference object. The error it's random like i said, sometimes just work and other just don't work...
