404 - File Or Directory Not Found - Resource Has Been Removed?
Oct 15, 2010
i created a site using asp.net, i got hosting space and uploaded my files, as per my process i ll send the Email verification link to users mail id with link to my site, if they click the link they will directly redirect to my site's registration page.it's working fine in my local iis and in visual studio, but in the host i'm getting error as Server Error 404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailabl
I am developing an application which is running fine on local machine. It is using webservices and jquery's ajax to call that service. It also has some asp hidden fields. I deploy it with visual studio. It is giving me error that the resource I am looking for is not found.
I'm developing two applications. One is server application and one more is client application and i'm implementing Localization in both the applications. I have used 7 language resource files in both the application. I need to add the reference of server application in my client application to access some global methods and all. After i'm adding the resource file in the application if i build the application it creates folder for each resource file with language culture code (Spanish -> es-ES, French -> fr-FR) under Bin directory.
Similarly if i add the reference of server application into client application then the resource file dll of server application will be added under corresponding langauge culture folder(es-ES,fr-FR) in the Bin directory. But i don't want to create any resource file dll for the application under Bin directory and aslo i need to put all the resource files inside the application only.
I've added a key/value pair to an .resx file named SharedResources in my App_GobalResources directory. All the examples I've read on line have me trying to access the value as:
[Code]...
However, the intellisense is telling me that (Resources is not a member of '<Default>')
I've also tried this syntax, without the global
Dim MsgTemplate As String = Resources.SharedResources.EmailTemplate
I then get a message that (SharedResouces is not a member of Resources)
The intellisens is showing the following members for Resources
ResourceManger
ResourceReader
ResourceWriter
It should be compiling a global collection based upon the files in my App_GlobalResources directory from what I'm reading. However,I can't find anything to match what everythink on line says I should have available.
and SqlBulkCopy to store the file into the database. It works fine with the local machine. When I try to publish it in the server I received the following error:
404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
if i browse for a text file and displays it in the text box and trying to save it as the name provided above i am getting the error as Directory Not Found Exception.
So I have a strange problem. I have 2 LinkButtons on a form with their OnCommand event attached. Everything works fine locally when debugging but when I publish the web site with I get the following error:
404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
I also tried the OnClick event but I get the same results.
This is being published to IIS 7.
The OnCommand is just doing a redirect. I can manually do the redirect by entering the url the same way it's passed to redirect and it works fine. I also tried putting some code in just to verify that the event really gets called on the server and it seems it doesn't. Although it does work fine locally. I also tried removing all the files from the server and doing a clean publish just to make sure I wasn't missing anything.
I have a web application and I'm using asp.net routing. When I publish it with the Only files needed to run this application selected it gives me an error when I'm loading any of the page "HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found."
I have a class library and was to add a resource file to it to support both English and Spanish. Any tips as how I can do this? The language will be dictated by the user visiting the site. Would like to have to only load each resource file once and cache or set in static variable and avoid any overheads.
i've got a problem with asp.net routing. My route looks like this:
[Code]....
but if there is a directory with the same name (in my case: "Articles") in my root directory, asp.net routing doesn't work and causes the error: "The resource cannot be found."
On production, it works great but locally, for any links that uses url rewrite, it says:
The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
I'm using asp.net mvc 2 applications and while clicking on the link,it shows the error as "HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly."The site was deployed in my localhost (IIS 6) web server. For example the link
http://localhost/news/details/My_First_News_title shows the above error but the link
http://localhost/news/index works fine in the browser. And also we added wildcard in IIS configuration and unchecked the "verify file exists options in IIS.
In our web application we need to keep various company's settings. For eg "DiamondProdRefIDCaption","Shippingpickup","ZipCodeCaption","DefaultCountry","AllowToEditInvoice", etcThese settings are different for various companies and are placed in web.config as key-value pair.Initially, we have tried do simplify this process by adding a company_settings table in the DB so as to allow us to add companies on the fly. However, this method makes it very difficult to add a new setting
I have a bunch of literals that try to get their info from a resource. I want the page to show Dutch automatically and english by use of a url parameter (?lang=en)
[Code]....
I keep getting a " System.InvalidOperationException: The resource class for this page was not found. Please check if the resource file exists and try again."My web.config looks like <globalization uiCulture="auto:nl" culture="auto:nl-BE"/>In Literal1 I use Resources:Voorstelling.aspx.nl-BE, bevord.Text . Is this correct? The resources are named "Voorstelling.aspx.nl-BE.resx" and "Voorstelling.aspx.en-GB.resx". There are copies of it in the root and in App_LocalResources. They are also compiled form in ../bin/site.dll, in ../bin/en-GB and in ../bin/nl-BE . Where should I save my resources? At this moment I want my page to recognize the resources without using InitializeCulture() or any fancy stuff. Is this possible? This problem has been bugging me for 2 days already. I tried iisreset /stop and /start.
I have a web form in my website folder named login.aspx. After loging in I want to redirect into another webpage called product.aspx which is inside a folder called forms. I receive an error "resource cannot found"
I have Response.Redirect("formsproduct.aspx") and Response.Redirect("forms/product.aspx"). Both doesnt work. What seems to be the right syntax here??.
have a website. If I run it locally it works. I also published it on server and if I navigate to http://www.mydomain.com, everything works. Then I wanted to set up staging site on real server for testing purposes. So in IIS under the node of that site I added "Application" with url http://www.mydomain.com/testapp.f I put the same code inside I receive that exception that resource is no accessible.
There is a strange behaviour with my web app which resides on the deployment server. This problem does not appears on the production enviroment (using the VS build-in development web server)
I am using URLRewriter and forms authentication on my web app. URL rewriting is performed by an http module on AuthorizeRequest. Also, runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests is enabled.
When I am trying to access some specific pages (NOT ALL OF THEM) with a rewriten url, IIS 7 returns me an 404 error.
Here are some of the rewriting rules:
Can be accessed BOTH rewritten and original url: <rewrite url="^/home.aspx" to="/ASPX_FILES/home.aspx" processing="stop" /> <rewrite url="^/product/(.*).aspx" to="/ASPX_FILES/item_details.aspx?id=$1" processing="stop" />
I've spent a while trying to figure this one out, . I am trying to implement a simple jax.actionlink(first time using) on rows in a table to remove the record from the user control. The ActionLink httpMethod is set to POST but it is not even hitting the Post action I have in the controller. It just gives me a 404 Resource not found error everytime.
I checked fiddler and the reason why I think is because its doing a GET instead of the value i set of POST. I dont have a get method for this since its just an ajax call to delete a record and return a partial view back to the div. I put a breakpoint in the POST method and definitely is not hitting that method. I'm not sure if its something simple or a configuration/routing issue or IIS issue. I've tried in chrome and IE8 just in case.
I start a new web site in vs 2005 I went into IIS 7.5 (I'm ont Windows 7 64bit, .net 2.0) , it is setup as an application and the physical path is correct.I'm connecting using a specific user and password. I have set the solution properties to usehttp://localhost/TestApp/, I set a start page as default.aspx. But when I run debug, I get a server error in application, that the resource couldn't be found.
In my solution, I added the following class in the Helper folder
[Code]....
Now, In my HomeController, I used following Index function
[Code]....
And in Global.asax.cs, routing as
[Code]....
In my View of Index funtion, I have following code
[Code]....
Now the problem is on opening sitename/Home, I am getting 2 post as required but when I click on next then I am getting HTTP 404 Error. The url formed is like sitename//Home/Page/1. (Edited later- Typo. Single / not //)
