A Duplicate Key Cannot Be Inserted Into A Unique Index?
Aug 31, 2010
I'm trying (SQL Server Compact) to add primary key constraint on existing table that has some rows in it. While adding primary key I'm getting the error:
"A duplicate key cannot be inserted into a unique index"
I have an update panel with a number of [asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger...] controls, and everything was working fine. But now, something keeps inserting duplicate AsyncTriggers, and instead of simply being [asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger...] controls they're [System.Web.UI.AsyncPostBackTrigger...] controls, and I get parser errors as a result. So I delete the duplicate triggers, and they get re-inserted within a few minutes, seemingly randomly.
when i hosted my page in a previously maintained project i got error like http error 500.19 the requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.config error:cannot add duplicate collection entry of type 'add' with unique key attribute 'name''
I've procedure that does the below task.1. Create a #table from an existing table2. Insert data into the temp table, this copies few duplicate records into my temp table3. After insert, I'm creating a cluster index for the temp table to enhance my search option later. While creating the Index, I get the below message.[CREATE UNIQUE INDEX terminated because a duplicate key was found for index ID 1. Most significant primary key is 'type ad, len 16'.
i created register page with unique primry username field , when customer enter exsiting username the register process will not complete and this error msg will appear Server Error in '/WebSite1' Application. using vb.net/asp.net 2005 and SQL Server 2005.I had similar issue yesterday: I created a unique index on a table to prevent duplicates when user tries to edit existing records in a gridview. This works fine and I am seeing the "cannot insert duplicate key row message...." however I need to catch the exception because I do not want to display the table and column names.I have this set up but its not catching the exception, the exception is displaying but not my version, does anyone know in what gridview event and how I can catch and customize this exception? what i have now (but not working ) is:
I developed a site for a client a couple of years ago. It uses the the standard ASP.NET Membership, authentication, etc. I just added the profile section with (2) fields: CustID AgntID. Now whenever I load the page with any Profile code in it I receive this error: Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'IX_aspnet_Users'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.aspnet_Users'. The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK__aspnet_Pr__UserI__3CA9F2BB". The conflict occurred in database "broo001", table "dbo.aspnet_Users", column 'UserId'. I'm working on a project where we're using Windows Desktop Search (WDS) to index files on a web share and then later allow the user to search via a website for documents in the share.
These documents are transferred to the share via FTP, however it would seem that either the computer never goes idle to index or at some point the indexing stops. Is there a way from the command line or within the program itself to force this to happen without having to re-invent the wheel? Using .NET 3.5 and C#.
Cannot create the clustered index 'RateViewIndex' on view 'NoteToPass.dbo.RateView' because the select list of the view contains an expression on result of aggregate function or grouping column. Consider removing expression on result of aggregate function or grouping column from select list.
Regarding Linq to SQL with .SQLEXPRESS and VS2010 on Windows 7, I am trying to add a list of entries to an empty table that I have confirmed programmatically does not have duplicate keys. Some info about the situation:Note: The key strings have Unicode characters (English and Chinese mixed).
I have two control page in my aspx page. first one left side "tree view",second one right side " form design".Form design will change based on tree view selected index changed.i have 4 level child node(site, master , slave, space). I have seperate forms to each level of node.
cannot update tree node when update the forms. so i reload tree view.
now i need how to auto selected index change to tree node.
ex.
1 parent node
1.1 child node
1.2 child node
i have update "1.2 child node" rename to "1.3 child node"
and reload treeview so it will chage...
how set tree node.selected index = 1.3 child node....
AutoGenerateColumns: Flase/True ( i tried both) If i remove the gvOff.Columns[index].HeaderText portions, GridView works fine, but when i put the gvOff.Columns[0].HeaderText, i get the exceptional error.
, i couldn't solve it. If you need further info, inform me.
EDITED:
Hold on! I commented the HeaderText portion and tested int i = gvOffer.Columns.Count; I found count is 0 eventhough the columns print out with DataBind()... Why? NOTE: AutoColumn in this case is set to true. I guess i will have to edit the column names from DataTable.
in my website i use Entity Data Model and i use linq to insert record to sql database
in one action i need to insert 2 record in 2 difrent related table. first i have to insert a topic and get the id of that topic and use it for post inserting.
