But i need to grab the name and email address from the database to send email.

Feb 16, 2011I have a form that sends an email when the submit button is clicked. The email functionality works great. I also need it to save the information to the Database. I have attempted to get it to work but it gets hung at a certain point when trying to write to the DB. Even when the DB error happens, the email is still sent. I have attached the code that I am using as well as the error that I am getting.
I am using MS SQL 2005 and VB in my code behind.

Dec 8, 2010I have a .net 3.5 application in c# with sql server 2008 at back end. The application is about assigning jobs to supervisors and then these supervisors have to write remarks about the job progress from time to time.
There are two tables ; a JobAssign table with JobOrderNo and Supervisor columns, and a JobUpdate table with jobOrderNo,Date And Remarks(nvarchar) column.
When a supervisor is assinged a job he is sent an email but sometimes the supervisors do not write remarks about a job for some time. Is there some way in which if the remarks of a job are not written for say 5 days an email is sent to the supervisor to do so?
All the front end backend communication is through parametrized queries and the email sending is through System.net.mail.

Now my code is working for Encryption. But now what I want is,
When I am using Forgot passwprd functionality, I want to send the decrypted password to the respective user in the Email.
In my database table the password is saved in the Encrypted format.
I have the code decrypt code from the above mentioned post, the question is where to place in the below code so that it will decrypt it properly

Unable To Send An Email From .net Using A Google Apps Email?
Jan 16, 2011I am trying to send an email from asp.net using a google apps email.
I found this question which did not resolve the issue

The part that I am really confused about is that it works with these settings
<smtp from="****@gmail.com" deliveryMethod="Network">
<network host="smtp.gmail.com" port="587"
userName="****@gmail.com" password="****"[code]....
and get the following error message
"The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.5.1 Authentication Required."
I found this article as well http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Apps/thread?tid=2cbb54572fea6939&hl=en and worked through this but that did not resolve me issue either.
