Web Forms :: Insert Record Into Database And Send Email
Apr 7, 2010
i'm attempting to insert cx information into a database and then mail that information to the sales team. I'm using the DetailsView Control to accomplish the SQL Insert Command -- Success I'm using a SendMail command when the Insert button is Clicked to send a hard coded email to the sales team -- Success I can not send the User inputed information into the email -- FAIL
Example Code:
[Code]....
To be redundant -- If I send "body" by itself the system works, it falls apart when I try to add Name.Text where Name is the ID of my textbox in the form.
I would like to be able to send an email notification if a website user inserts a new record in a table. This will be a relatively rare occurrence so it would be very useful to have the notification as opposed to having my users check my summary page that lists all the IDs that have a record in this table. I googled but I must not be hitting on the right keywords or phrase to find the answer to this question. 1) letting me know if this is possible (I'm version ASP.NET 2.0 and using VB with a SQL Server database) and/or 2) pointing me in the right direction to find out how to do it if it is possible.
Is there a way to send an email to a certain email address and have the message inserted into a database? The subject would be intered into "Subject" table field and the message body would be inserted into the "Message" table field.
I want to insert a new record into the database through gridview.New butoon in not inside the gridview it a diifrebt button.when we click new then it show a new row which is blank. another button is save when we click save it will save the data into database
Actually i am developing a web application for leave,,if the employee wants to take a leave, the employee working under the senior people,if the employee 001 wants to take a leave,if the employee 001 logins in the web application,if he is working in sales dept, automatically this mail is forwarded to sales manager..like wise for all the employee..if the employee works in accounts dept, whenever the employee logins in the web application,to email address automatically change to the accounts manager..i dont no how to do this
After pressing forgot password ,I redirect to page having textbox for email id.When I enter mail id and click on send button I want to send the saved password from database to that mail id. How can I achieve that?
My database contains userid(not auto incremented and specific to user),mailId,password fields. My login page contains UserId nd Password and link of forgot password.
I am using a form to add and edit record of database.
In Add case my email box has no value. I have used customservervalidation to check the given email address with previous database records.
In Edit case my email box is populated with data from database.
When i click save button in both cases my customservervalidation method invokes and checks the given value. it works fine for new/add case but in edit case it checks with itself also and says duplicate email... pointing own record...
protected void SaveEmails(object sender, EventArgs e) { for (int i = 0; i < this.Emails.Count; i++) { string constr = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["ConString2"].ConnectionString; string sqlStatment = "INSERT INTO [Emails] ([From],[Subject],[Body],[Date]) VALUES (@From ,@Subject,@Body,@Date)"; using (SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(constr)) { using (SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(sqlStatment, con))
[Code] ....
I want to store attachments also... How to store attachments....
I have seen that when some one posts a message on my facebook wall, I get a mail and I can reply to that wall post by just replying that email and my wall gets updated. I want to implement this feature in an ASP.Net website of mine but don't know how can I accomplish this task.
I have a form that sends an email when the submit button is clicked. The email functionality works great. I also need it to save the information to the Database. I have attempted to get it to work but it gets hung at a certain point when trying to write to the DB. Even when the DB error happens, the email is still sent. I have attached the code that I am using as well as the error that I am getting.
I have written a script to write several values to an Access Database Table, but I need to ammend i so it checks for two values (Asset and LName) to see if they match if they do it updates the record if not it writes a new record, my script so far is as follows :
[Code]....
I'm just stuck as I can't work out the best way to do it,
I have above 50 user email id stored in my database i want to send email, As a admin, I typed some message, when i press send button. It will send to to all user email Id which is stored in My Database. I am using asp.net and c#.
I have a .net 3.5 application in c# with sql server 2008 at back end. The application is about assigning jobs to supervisors and then these supervisors have to write remarks about the job progress from time to time.
There are two tables ; a JobAssign table with JobOrderNo and Supervisor columns, and a JobUpdate table with jobOrderNo,Date And Remarks(nvarchar) column.
When a supervisor is assinged a job he is sent an email but sometimes the supervisors do not write remarks about a job for some time. Is there some way in which if the remarks of a job are not written for say 5 days an email is sent to the supervisor to do so?
All the front end backend communication is through parametrized queries and the email sending is through System.net.mail.

When I run this page, signup.aspx, provide required fields and click submit, the page simply reloads and the database table does not reflect the newly-inserted record. How do I catch the error messages that might be returned from the sproc? how to change signup.aspx so that the insert occurs.
I'm very new on VWD, but I got the hang of it for the past 2 weeks(thank you for all the videos posted here in ASP.NET),but I'm really weak on the coding part(vb & c#),except for all the sample shown on the tutorials. Anyways, I have a simple project that does insert, update & delete to SQL express using the details view. But to complete my project, I need to add a button that will create an event to restore the very last record inserted in SQL and display it back into the details view for minor modification and nserted again as the newest record with the mod. I'm doing this so user, doesn't need to re-key-in redundant information, like names, original date & time etc, and just make modification on the description of the last record.....
I have three textbox ... textbox1 and textbox2 and textbox3 I want when I choose from date in textbox1 say 1-May-2011 and to date in textbox2 say 30-May-2011 and in textbox I type 1,2,3,4,5 I want on button click ... event the values will be entererd in database from 1-May-2011 to 30-May2011 as : mentioned below :
DATABASE STRUCTURE ID Date Items 1 1-May-2011 1,2,3,4,5 2 2-May-2011 1,2,3,4,5 3 3-May-2011 1,2,3,4,5
