ADO.NET :: Determining The Last Step Completed?

I have wizards in my app and when the user clicks one, the first thing I check is the "progress status" of the wizard for that user in case he/she has already started the process but never completed it. However, there's always a possibility that he/she might have completed 2 steps in a 5 step wizard.
I read the progress data into a simple List<WizardProgress> which looks like this:
StepID - CompletionDate
1 -- 12/1/2010 18:52:00
2 -- 12/2/2010 18:53:00
3 -- NULL
4 -- NULL
5 -- NULL
What is the best way for me to find the last completed step? It's easy enough to do a foreach but was wondering if there was a better way to do it.

I want to create a multi step form that allows users to indicate at the end of each step via a checkbox that they have completed all the information in that step. I would like the sidebar to show this information as a visual clue about how far through the wizard they are. NB steps shouldn't get disabled once completed (they could re-edit if they wish) and the users don't have to use linear navigation through the steps.

I'm looking for some opinions on how to go about the following:
Say I have a wizard control in my website, and I've completed all the steps on the wizard and I want to redirect to another page after the "Finish" button I've clicked. So, then after that I logout of my site, and go back into it bearing in mind the wizard has been completed, I want to redirect the user to another page and by-pass this wizard control. Would I setup a flag in the database, to indicate if the wizard control has been completely filled or not. If status = true then redirect the user to different page (and bypass wizard)... but if status = null then make sure user still can go through steps in the wizard control.

I am using a wizard with 2 steps: Step 1: I enter some values in few textboxes, which in turn are stored in some hidden variables Step 2: There are some more textboxes including the texboxes in step 1 Example: in step 1 there are two textboxes Customer Name & Email ID In step 2 there are two more texboxes Customer Name, Email ID, Company Name and Age Now the values in step 1 are stored in 2 hidden variables lblCustomerName and lblEmailId respectively. Now how do I automatically populate these two fields which are already entered in step 1, in the textboxes present in step 2, is my question?

Well as the title says I am a total noob to web programming. I have experience in XHTML and CSS and that is it, and it is time to expand my knowledge and start making much better websites
I have a project to completely rewrite the site [URL] and want to do it in ASP.NET rather then PHP, and since I do not know either language I would rather learn this one instead.
My question is simple, where do I start? I learn well by reading books and doing examples and building example websites, that sort of stuff. Can anyone suggest any good book titles that will get me started in the right direction? A friend sent me the PDF version of the book: "Learning ASP.NET 3.5, 2nd Edition (Build web applications with ASP.NET 3.5, AJAX, Linq and MORE)." This is so far the only resource I have. The only thing about that book is that it promotes using the WYSIWYG style of web design and I
have always been tought to stay away from that.

I have created a User Control with 2 Textboxes and a Button. Then I have built that control into my Master Page. I have also created the code easily enough for the login - see below;

However, I have a problem. I want to do the following;
1. Let them Login
2. Let them Logout
3. And I want to try and use this code into a Global Variable
What is the easiest way possible to do this, as I do NOT want to use the Asp.Net Login facilities already provided.

Ok, so since my last post I've tested the Gridview and DataView controls and it appears as though those would work a little better. I am currently developing a site for my OJT.I have created a login form for my site now I got confused on what to do with this one. I need to identify if the user has been log-in or log-out As the user inputted the exact username and password it will go to this line of codes in which will identity if the user has bees signout or not.

Now, my problem here is that even though I inputted the correct username and password after reloading the page it will still asked for the user name and password(sends me to the login page). I already set a value for the "isLog" cookie but still it return a wrong info.

I came upon an interesting discussion with my team around the use of HttpRequest.UrlReferrer and wanted to solicit feedback from the community. According to the W3C spec:
The Referer[sic] request-header field allows the client to specify, for the server's benefit, the address (URI) of the resource from which the Request-URI was obtained (the"referrer", although the header field is misspelled.) The Referer request-header allows a server to generate lists of back-links to resources for interest, logging, optimized caching, etc. It also allows obsolete or mistyped links to be traced for maintenance. The Referer field MUST NOT be sent if the Request-URI was obtained from a source that does not have its own URI, such as input from the user keyboard.as input from the user keyboard.
The Request.UrlReferrer object does the work of converting referral strings that contain well formed URIs to an object with properties on every request. According to our logs there are requests that come in that contain invalid data in the referral such as:

ALToolBar
app:/index.html

Using Request.UrlReferrer would mean the above cases would be NULL. Is it better to discard the invalid data based on the W3C spec by using Request.UrlReferrer or preserve it by using Request.ServerVariables["HTTP_REFERER"] even though the data may be interesting, but potentially useless.
