I wonder are there any opensource asp.net project so I can learn the realistic project in practice. What I desire is ones that with detailed turial about how to create the project, like step to step. I already know the opensource project from microsoft like blogengine, however, it does not offer any turial.

1. Let them Login
2. Let them Logout
3. And I want to try and use this code into a Global Variable

My question is simple, where do I start? I learn well by reading books and doing examples and building example websites, that sort of stuff. Can anyone suggest any good book titles that will get me started in the right direction? A friend sent me the PDF version of the book: "Learning ASP.NET 3.5, 2nd Edition (Build web applications with ASP.NET 3.5, AJAX, Linq and MORE)." This is so far the only resource I have. The only thing about that book is that it promotes using the WYSIWYG style of web design and I

Ok, so since my last post I've tested the Gridview and DataView controls and it appears as though those would work a little better. However, I'm having difficultly implementing the "Edit mode" on those controls to allow the user to edit the data. I can't really seem to find a "step by step" example of of how to do it.

View 4 RepliesI use asp.net default membership provider. in my register.aspx page i use a CreateUserWizard to create new user. in this wizard i want to create a custom step in first step to show the user some roles with a checkBox if user check it mean he agree with the roles and can create account.
i create the step and i put the some text and a checkBox in it. the problem is i don't know how to get the value of checkBox and how active the next button in first Step of my wizard.

For some reason after clicking "create user" and the postback happens, the user gets returned to the registration page instead of going to the complete page. I have tried everything. Been toying around with all kinds of settings for half a day now.
I'm currently intigrating with the SagePay merchant gateway and I'm come accross a little problem. I have a reg form that gets all the information I need to send to SagePay together. To split the reg form up into manageable chunks I've used an asp:Wizard control. So, In the final step of my wizard control I need to post the values off to sage. It's quite frustrating that I can't just substitute inishDestinationPageUrl="" for something like FinishDestinationPostBackUrl="" because that's what I need to do and would rather expect it to be that easy.
View 6 RepliesI have wizards in my app and when the user clicks one, the first thing I check is the "progress status" of the wizard for that user in case he/she has already started the process but never completed it. However, there's always a possibility that he/she might have completed 2 steps in a 5 step wizard.
I read the progress data into a simple List<WizardProgress> which looks like this:
StepID - CompletionDate
1 -- 12/1/2010 18:52:00
2 -- 12/2/2010 18:53:00
3 -- NULL
4 -- NULL
5 -- NULL
What is the best way for me to find the last completed step? It's easy enough to do a foreach but was wondering if there was a better way to do it.
How can I get UserID in next steps of wizards other than the first one ?
