I am retrieving user data from aspnet_user table from aspnetdb database but I also want to retrieve data (such as first name, last name, email, address etc) from aspnet_profile table. I am using dropdownlist which retrieves user names from the aspnet_user table.
I have a class called Questions. This Questions has properties QuestionID and QuestionAnswer. My list of Questions has QuestionID like 2,3,4,15,12,24,22,,,, etc I need to sort this List of Questions Object based on QuestionID and store in another Questions object.
I have a check-box-List which I bind to a master dataTable(DTA)... I have another dataTable (DTB) which has the values that needs to checked in the check-box-List... So I loop through all items in the check-box-list to see if it exists in the DTB and set checked = true for those items that exists. Now I want to show the checked items first in the Check-box-list box and the unchecked items below that. Is there any way I can do it... A similar solution for List-Box could also be helpful. A Javascript hint is welcome too.
Just spent about 8 hours googling and looking through this forum for a solution on how to make sure that I can dynamically sort. Here is the situation.
I have 1 Gridview that displays 10 different scenarios based on what button is clicked.
I am also returning only top 10 records. I am doing all of the data binding pragmatically. So I have BoundFields, HyperLinkFields etc.
I also want to sort some records. When I change DataSource SQL statement the gridview somehow remembers what the last sort value was and it errors out saying that value "x" cannot be sorted because it does not exists.
Here I get an error that says that the data source does not support sorting? Doesnt it say gridview1.allowsorting = false;
I also tried gridview1.sort("", SortDirection.Ascending); This does nothin... except query my database one more time because i have a onSorting event that looks like this:
[Code]....
Here is an example of just one of those SLQ statements inside GetSQLQuery:
Is it possible to setup the CreateUserWizard to check for a duplicate entry in the aspnet_profile table (for a custom field) before the new user is created? For example, if I added a phone number field and wanted to make sure nobody else could create an account using that same phone number if a user already has an account with that phone number in the aspnet_Profile table's PropertyValuesString row?
I've recently used the CreateUserWizard to add firstname, middlename and lastname to my aspnet_Profile table. I was wondering how I would go about placing these values in a dropdownlist (ddlEmployees) so that I may wind up with a list displaying these values concatenated, eg. Mary Anne Brant, Joseph Ezra Shultz etc. That's the firstname, middlename and lastname from the profiles table.
I'm looking for a way to sort the rows of a datatable without setting the DefaultView.Sort to a specific column. I have a datatable in session that users can add records to. I want them to be able to sort the data by clicking on a button. But new records added after that need to show up at the bottom of the list until the sort button is clicked again.
Traditionally with an Object Data Source, the wired up class will have its public properties available for binding (i.e. Gridview columns, etc.) which works well. But what if one of my wired up business objects has a property that is an object itself; can I drill down to a property on that object property and still use it?
So in additiona to the traditional:MyBusniessObject.OrderID...I want to use:MyBusniessObject.Customer.NameID Your 1st response might be to just wire up the 'Customer' class, but I need properties both on 'MyBusinessObject'and 'Customer'. I do not think this can be done, as the ODS will not display properties on an object instance property. I have tried manually typing in the drilled down value as well, but that wasn't a success either.
I'm having a problem sorting a dropdown that I've bound to a SQL Server data source. I've narrowed the problem down to the fact that I have a static item at the top of the dropdown with the data-bound items appended afterwards. If I remove the static item (<asp:ListItem Value="-1" Text="All" />) the ORDER BY part of the select clause works fine. How can I get around this issue? What I would like is to have the "All" static item at the top of the list with the data-bound items sorted alphabetically afterwards. I'm using Visual Studio 2010 and ASP.NET 4 if it makes any difference.
I have a column of varchar type, records like DRT1000,DRT1001,DRT900,DRT922....... Records not in proper order..I need to sort this record in descending..
I have a web service that returns an object that I attach to a gridview's datasource. is there a way to sort the data from the web service before attaching it to the datasource?
I have a datalist, this datalist control is bind, when user select control filters,i am looking a way to sort this datalist control for example like asc or desc or price.
My program running good. But i try to add up-down icon on my gridView header. but if i make it, My break point should drop below "if comparison" For example; field.SortExpression=Category but every time CustomersGridView.SortExpression is empty when gridview.SortExp is not empty.
foreach (DataControlField field in CustomersGridView.Columns) { if (field.SortExpression == CustomersGridView.SortExpression) { return CustomersGridView.Columns.IndexOf(field); } } i need : foreach (DataControlField field in CustomersGridView.Columns) { if (field.SortExpression == "Category") { return 2; } } CustomersGridView.SortExpression must not be empty!!!!! " sortascheader" : " sortdescheader"); } else if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow) { // this is an alternating row e.Row.Cells[cellIndex].CssClass += (e.Row.RowIndex % 2 == 0 ? " sortaltrow" : " sortrow"); } } } }
I want to create simple rating page where player's place,name and rating is displayed. I've created database with ID,Name and Rating Columns, binded Gridview to this database and created TemplateField "Place". With following code I've created numbered list for Place:
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e){ for (int i = 0; i < GridView1.Rows.Count; i++)
