When I click on edit button I am expecting it to change like a text box and let me edit the content. But it is not happening. Can you see my code and let me know What I am missing?
I have a grid view and I added edit and Save buttons to it. When I click on edit I am able to edit the data but when I click on save I amgetting the data before edit.
Please see my code below.
Eg: I have start date as 2005-10-10 12:00 AM so After I click On edit it is letting me to edit, So If I edit the start date to 2010-10-10 12:00 PM and click on the save button I am stil getting the old start date. which is 2005-10-10 12:00 AM instead of 2010-10-10 12:00 PM
I have a grid view and I am unable to get the values that I edited from the grid view using below code. Can Any one look into it and advise what is wrong with my code?
have a grid view attached with a select -> Details viewwhen i update a row, it does update in the database but doesnt refresh the gridview to show what it shouldive attached my code on my aspx if its any use
I had found a Gridview example on the internet that showed you would read the available autorites from the webconfig and then allow you to update them in a Gridview. I lost the link before I could completely study and understand it. Asp.net auto generated memberships have been a real struggle for me.
I uam using ListView, and like the edit/update on the same page much, only the way to add a new record is not so consistent, is that a way to put add new away from the DetailsView ?
I am new to asp.net (I may use some incorrect termology while I explain my issue...) and need some help with DropDownList in Gridview. Currently I have a GridView set up with three Columns bound to a database: Column1 - some kinda of index, Column2 - string, Column3 - DropDownList(called Active). So far when I build the page, all the columns show up and the DropDownList appears and the values are bound correctly. I want to change a value in the DropDownList and automatically update that value in my database.
I have set AutoPostBack = true and I made a DataObject (called UpdateActive) to update the database (it takes 2 inputs, the Column1 index and Column3 DropDownList value).However, I don't know how to find the row that I am changing, is there a way to figure out what row it is (like finding the Column 1 index?). Also, I don't want to have to click a button to update the data.
i have a grid view with some coulmns like Name,Phone no etc with Edit,Delete column in grid view. I click a row in grid view to Edit,it goes another page where i can edit all fields .Once i update i redirect the page to gridview. I want the grid view to remain in that particular page say 4 of the grid view
It happened to add an extra Gridveiw Header in row_databound event , It did worked fine on !Postback but disappered on Page.Postback . Quick google search guided me to move the event to Row_Created event and every thing is okay .
Can any expert post some pointers , differnces between grid row_created vs row_databount with some sample table data created dynamically behaviour of both the events in !Postback and page.Postback .
I am doing a online web application whereby user is able to enter in new template as well as search for template. The Add template is located outside the grid view and if user clicks on the button, it will load the grid view that is populated with data as there is a row of empty fields at the bottom. However when I click on the Add Template button, the grid view does not appear.
This is my business logic that I used it to search for records as well to click on the Add Template button to add in new records:
i have a grid form with 3 fields field1 & field2 & field3.
in the insert statement the field 3 gets a javascript function result that uses filed1 & 2 values.
Now what i want in the grid view update statement is : to call the @field 1 & @field2 from the update statement to a similar javascript function..(do soem calculation ) and then re-assign the java function result to the @field3 variable in the update statement..
(//// Or simply what i want is to do the same calcultions onthe fields while perfoming an update operation.. //).
how can i perfom the calculations in a grid view update statament ..
protected void gvProducts_RowEditing(object sender, GridViewEditEventArgs e) { gvProducts.EditIndex = e.NewEditIndex; } protected void gvProducts_RowUpdating(object sender, GridViewUpdateEventArgs e) { int i = e.RowIndex; object control = gvProducts.Rows[i].FindControl("txtProdID"); //i want to access the new value from the object "control" but i m getting the previous value only }
Have a GridView with a templated select button hidden and using
e.Row.Attributes.Add("onclick",Page.ClientScript.GetPostBackEventReference(this.grdMaster, "Select$" + e.Row.RowIndex.ToString())); to select a row .
When user like to update the datasource he will select one row from gridview then in selected indexchanged event i would display the selected row values beneath the form under the grid , Then user will update the contents displayed from grid and click an update button which is outside the grid . After updating the displayed row , i got to get the values of the next row in the grid and display them for next updation , i'e if users maually selects row 3 from grid then he can update the values using the update button and then on update click itself i'll have to display next row contents of row 4 and this process could go on .
I have a grid view that does add, edit update and delete. ( I draged the grid to the aspx page ) it is working. I would like to have the following : once I lick on edit, I open a form inside the grid view to edit the fields. How can I do that.
I have a grid view which displays some values. now i have to calculate row wise sum of those values for each row and then display against them.i tried this code but i am getting error as Input String Was not in Correct Format.
public void gv_RowCreated(Object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow) { int total = Convert.ToInt32(e.Row.Cells[1].Text) + Convert.ToInt32(e.Row.Cells[2].Text) + Convert.ToInt32(e.Row.Cells[3].Text) + Convert.ToInt32(e.Row.Cells[4].Text) + Convert.ToInt32(e.Row.Cells[5].Text) + Convert.ToInt32(e.Row.Cells[6].Text) + Convert.ToInt32(e.Row.Cells[7].Text); ((Label)gv.FindControl("Label8")).Text = Convert.ToString(total); } }
