AJAX :: Accessing Button In An UpdatePanel Within A TabContainer?

Apr 4, 2010

I have an asp button in an update panel within a TabContainer. I am having troubles accessing this button from javascript.

I need to access the onclick event of this button. The onclick event call a C# code from the code behind.

Without the TabContainer and Update panel I do

document.getElementById('btnID').click();

and it works.

AJAX :: TabContainer Inside UpdatePanel Not Visible On IE?

Oct 13, 2010

I have put a TabContainer inside an UpdatePanel. The TabContainer's TabPanels get populated with the content dynamically. Whenever the browser is refreshed (F5), the TabContainer does not display I get a javascript error

Message: 'undefined' is null or not an object

This only happens in Internet Explorer. If I put the cursor in the address bar and press the 'Enter' key, the TabContainer shows up again and the javascript error goes away.

A live sample can be see at [URL] on any of my product pages.

AJAX :: TabContainer Inside A Updatepanel Causes The Browser To Postback Twice While First One Is Aborted?

Dec 2, 2010

When I want to optimize my tab container for network traffic, I faced a rare problem.

When first time the page is requested the content in the first panel is visible. the other panel content are invisible. When user switches the tab i am setting the panel visible and update the updatepanel. this works fine after i have put the tab container inside a update panel and set the update mode conditional and children as trigger as false. But when i include the tab container inside an update panel and change the tab in the browser, i see two postback from the browser in firebug net traffic window. THe first postback status is displayed as aborted. Eventhough the functionality is working correct.

AJAX :: Chrome Update - Toolkit TabContainer Disappears On Button Click.

Sep 10, 2010

Yesterday (Thursday Sep 10th 2010) I was happy to have a TabContainer working fine on a simple page as im learning to use it.

On the page was:

1) Ajax Script manger.
2) 1 command button (it would make label1.text = "hello world"
3) A Ajax TabContainer with 2 tabs...
4) Label1

That was it and it was working fine in Chrom and IE Woohoo.. I go home...

This morning I load it up to keep working way and doing more with it.... Chrome is my default browser, it loads and I click tab2 then tab 1 all is well.... I click Butto1 and the hole TabContainer disapears..

After much dinging I find it still works in IE but that my Chrome has updated (on its own): (I notice only one ICON in Chrome in the uper right corner by the addres bar... Only the Wrench ICON, No more Page ICON.. So I check and sure enough Chrome did a push to V 6.0.472.55.. Anyhow thats the difference and now TabContainer goes poof/disappears when clicking a button that refeshes the page.

JQuery :: Stops Working On Elements Placed In Updatepanel En Tabcontainer (postback)?

I want to load a popup when a user clicks a button. The buttons are images located inside a tabpanel. The first time the page is loaded the helpEvents DOES display the popup and the 'click' popup. Then I navigate to Tabpanel tab2, and the helpTickets button doesnt work (doesnt even display the 'click' popup) Then I navigate back to Tabpanel tpEventDetails, and the helpEvents button doesnt work anymore either(and also doesnt even display the 'click' popup anymore) So I think something gets lost in the updatepanel on callback...but what? and how to fix it?

AJAX :: Save Button On Updatepanel?

Mar 5, 2010

Re: Asp.net 2.0, VS 2005, Ajax 1.0

I am a newbie to ajax. I have started adding the ajax functionality to a current project. So added all the required contents in the web.config.

I have a master page in my project and I have a simple aspx page also using this master page.

All i have on the page is a script manager, an updatepanel and with in the updatepanel are three text boxes, a calender extender, an image button and a save button. When I click on the save button the first time the save button's event doesn't trigger but the second time I click it triggers. Similarly, the text_changed events of the text boxes dont trigger the first time.
