m using ajax control tab container, in which i have placed 5 tab panels....
in first tab panel submit button is woking fine,but in 2nd tabPanel button is giving problem,its not firing even a single event...
I'm facing a weird issue...My button events are not firing :(I'm using the 3.5 .net framework and I've already tried to run aspnet_regiis -c, clear the browser temp files, use windows integrated authentication, but nothing works...this is the cenario:
- windows server 2003
- app migrated from .net framework 1.1 (which was working fine) to .net framework 3.5
- IE8
I have a WebUserControl with a Button and some other controls (placeholder for images, labels). On a certain page, a number of these WebUserControls are created (using Me.LoadControl) and added to a PlaceHolder on the page.When the user clicks the button on either of these usercontrols, I want a method on the page to be called. I have been doing this by handling the Button Click event on the usercontrol, and then letting the usercontrol raise another event. I use AddHandler after creating the usercontrol to add an eventhandler method to this custom event. Sounds confusing? Here's a simple example.

The idea is this:Button is clicked on the TestControl: TestControl.ButtonClicked event is raised. On the TestPage, the bestControl_ButtonClicked method is called The Number property of the calling TestControl is assigned to a label so I can see it. However, it seems that the TestControl_ButtonClicked method is never called. Via debugging I can confirm that the Button Click event, on the TestControl usercontrol, is fired, so that the TestControl.btn_Click method is called. The TestControl.ButtonClicked event is raised.After creating a TestControl, the AddHandler statement is executed. After clicking a button on the page however, nothing happens. The page just posts back, all the buttons are gone (ok, I'm not loading them again in case of a postback), but the label does not get the text.In fact, the ButtonClick handler method (TestPage.TestControl_ButtonClicked) method is never called! What could be causing this? I am sure that I have been using this method a few weeks ago, in this very project, yet suddenly it has stopped working. I have a ASPX Page that contains several user controls, which are loaded dynamically after user interaction.
On one of ascx I have a hidden button that is being clicked on some user actions (via button.click()), which works fine on 1st page load. But after the form is being submitted once, the other ascx is loaded. There if user clicks the back button and resubmits the 1st form (again via button.click()), button_clicked event on server does not fire again.
I have a TabContainer with multiple Tabs. For some of the Tab's Button OnClick events work and on others they do not. I have dropdowns etc in each of these tabs and their SelectedIndex events fire. Just some of the button events don't fire. If I move the HTML and codebehind to a blank page for any of the Panels that don't work, the buttons work as expected.
View 7 RepliesI have a master page with a menu on it. I have found now two pages out of dozens where for some reason the master page events aren't firing. I've put a break point in there and it never hits it. Is there something that could cause a disconnect between the page and the master page events? Really weird it happens in Chrome and IE but they fire correctly in Safari.

the user can change the data within the gridview then click a save button to update the data within the database.
However in order to know which rows have been changed I have a textChanged event associated with each textbox, but the event isn't being fired.

I have an asp button in an update panel within a TabContainer. I am having troubles accessing this button from javascript.
I need to access the onclick event of this button. The onclick event call a C# code from the code behind.
Without the TabContainer and Update panel I do
document.getElementById('btnID').click();
and it works.
I use a border for the TabContainer body which works fine.

Yesterday (Thursday Sep 10th 2010) I was happy to have a TabContainer working fine on a simple page as im learning to use it.
On the page was:
1) Ajax Script manger.
2) 1 command button (it would make label1.text = "hello world"
3) A Ajax TabContainer with 2 tabs...
4) Label1
That was it and it was working fine in Chrom and IE Woohoo.. I go home...
This morning I load it up to keep working way and doing more with it.... Chrome is my default browser, it loads and I click tab2 then tab 1 all is well.... I click Butto1 and the hole TabContainer disapears..
After much dinging I find it still works in IE but that my Chrome has updated (on its own): (I notice only one ICON in Chrome in the uper right corner by the addres bar... Only the Wrench ICON, No more Page ICON.. So I check and sure enough Chrome did a push to V 6.0.472.55.. Anyhow thats the difference and now TabContainer goes poof/disappears when clicking a button that refeshes the page.
I have a gridview with Action button. When this button is clicked Javascript Confirm Popup will Display, after click on OK the Event have to fire GridviewRowCommand but the strange thing is: when the button is clicked, the rowcommand method is NOT fired! When I place the code on a separate page the event is fired, but when placed inside the tabcontainer for some reason it isnt...

I am faced with a tricky scenario. My application (WEB) is in .NET 3.5 using C# as the development language. My page is having a number of User controls, each with a Save button of its own.
Now my Page containing the User Controls also has a button named SAVE. Now all these User Controls are dynamically populated in the page with respect to some events and all of them are inside individual Update Panels.
Now my requirement is ONCLICK of the SAVE button in the page, the clicks of the SAVE buttons of the user controls will get fired. But since its an asynchronous call (since I am using AJAX through UPDATE PANELS), it will be a heavy overload if all the clicks get fired simultaneously.
So I thought of having sequential clicks done, i.e., after the successful completion of the Click of User Control 1, the click of User Control 2 will get fired and so on.
I presume this can be done with Server Callback, but I am at a loss how to proceed with it.

I have a master page containing a ScriptManager control, and a Content Page containing a ScriptManagerProxy Control. Further on the content page I have an UpdatePanel control containing a GridView control and a server side button control. I have registered the button control as a trigger with the UpdatePanel control asynchronously and have set the UpdateMode of the UpdatePanel to "Conditional". I have a modal pop up extender that is working fine. Inside the modal pop up window I have 2 buttons yes No
If I click on yes I am redirecting it to a diff page. No is simply closing the pop up.
In my .cs file buttonclick I added the response.redirect();

I have a web app connected to a database. I have a ajax tab control on the page with a textbox and a button in a panel that will update the database with whatever the user types in the textbox. But I cant seem to get the behind code to work, I assume the button is not firing.

I have an update panel on the parent page into which I load and remove a set of user controls.
Now, when a button is pressed on the user control, the events are fired but there are no changes in the page. For example:
Main Page

So, if I want to hide panel 1 when btn1 is clicked etc, I simple use code such as panel1.visible = false.

In chapters 10 and 11 the book covers the DataList and GridView.My project will load data correctly into the list and grid; however, the events are not firing, for example the SelectedIndexChanged event. View 2 RepliesI have a nested GridView that is placed inside a ListView. The GridView renders perfectly fine with all the entities that are bound inside its datasource.
Each record in my gridview has two buttons - 'delete' and 'edit'. The issue that I am having is that the methods wired to each of these buttons never get fired.
I think the reason for this behaviour is because my ListView's data binding happens only on the first page load, and not on every subsequent postback. As a result, when a postback happens, the events of the nested gridview are never wired up again - hence my methods are not getting fired.

I tried modifying the above code and removing the "!IsPostBack" clause, and the events actually got fired when a button inside the GridView was clicked. However, I do not feel comfortable doing a databind on every postback and think there should be a better solution than that.
I am using c# and asp.net with master page for a web application. I am using javascript for some click events to be invoked.
Now I am facing some problems with the click events of the buttons on my page. They suddenly stop firing after click on 4 or 5 buttons.
