I have a sample Microsoft Word document which has several paragraphs.
When I click the button "Paste from MS Word (with cleanup)" on the Editor, <br/> is inserted as the HTML instead of <p></p> i.e. HTML paragraphs.
I would like the MS Word paragraphs to retain their meaning and have a <p> instead of <br />.
(By the way, they are kept if I do a standard Paste, but then a lot of other obscure characters are inserted into the HTML)

Jan 19, 2010I looks like if you use the filteredtextboxextender control with number as the type some Mac browers don't let you paste text into the text box with the cmd+V. I have verified this with the filteredtextboxextender demo page.

May 4, 2010I tried to use the Paste from Ms word button in the tool bar of htmlEditor to paste text. The htmleditor to manage to clean up the MS tags in the html markup. However, it also removes all the font sizes, setting them all to be a default font size.

Oct 11, 2010I haven't been able to find a post about this, but the HTMLEditor is finally a rich text editor that properly removes word formatting without messaging up other stuff (thank god!). However, because I know my users, I would like for this 'paste as word' mode to be always on whenever they paste, how can I accomplish this?

Mar 10, 2011I have an Ajax Toolkit combo box in DropDownStyle Mode. The DropDownStyle should prevent the user from entering values that are not in the list of items of the combo box. The problem is, if the user paste some text (right-click --> past OR ctr + V) in the combo box, it will work, event if the pasted text is not the list of items. Is there a way I can prevent this?

Jan 28, 2011When copying and pasting from a formatted Micorsoft document, the editor drops many spaces.
If I use the "Paste from MS Word (with cleanup)" feature, the document loses its formatting.
If I don't use it, many spaces get lost and the words around them get concatenated. I just downloaded the last release of the toolkit and the problem still persists.
Users are using Firefox and Chrome with the same result.

Obout_theo gave the code below, which made the normal ctrl + V paste in plain text the whole time. Which is perfect for my need.
BUT, most users use paste from the context menu and this pastes in word format. Does anyone know the answer to this problem?

Feb 17, 2010I am creating a web form for employees to submit recipe's on a web form. The fields are recipe name, ingredients, and the recipe instructions. Majority of the time, employee's will be copying/pasting the text from a word document. Currently I am using the ajax editor control. I know there is a "Paste from Word" button that can be used but all the users are not going to know to use the button.
They may just do a right click to paste or the ctrl v to paste. When this is done, all the html tags from Word are pasted as well. I want to be able to remove the tags.

Mar 29, 2010for SEO purposes, instead of refreshing the page every click of a product, is it possible to click on the product and when the server comes back with the response, to change the URL of the page to reflect the new link to information currently on page?
point is to have ajax redraw the product details portion of the page but have SEO friendly url's displayed so if people want to bookmark the currently selected product, it will bookmark the right url instead of the generic one to access the products page..
For example... here's my entry point:
Products.aspx
product1product2product3 If I were to click product1, the request goes to the server with roducts.aspx?id=product1 but the url is still products.aspx on the response meaning that when people bookmark the product1 item, and they send the link to a friend, the friend always gets the generic product.aspx page.
I'm trying to get around this without refreshing the full page (postback).

Aug 30, 2010If i use signs like ë in the HTML Editor, in IE, its ok, and works. But if i use ë in firefox in the same page with the HTML Editor. If i press safe the ë is converted to: � (copy past doesnt work well, but its a square if you put [] to each other). But how is this possible? And how can i solve this problem? In IE its working well, but 50% of the users of the system i build are using Firefox. So it should work in all editors.

AJAX :: Can't Implement An Autocompleteextender
Mar 11, 2010i'm using visual web developer 2008 express edition, i added the ajax toolkit to the tools without issue. SOME tools, like the accordian (and others) allow me to drag and drop them onto my forms. but others, such as the autocompleteextender wil not allow me to drag and drop them onto a form. i just get a circle with a line through it (as if to say - this is not allowed) - why is that?
i tried coding the extender in manually like many examples i've seen online:

AJAX :: AutoCompleteExtender + Backspace In IE8
Oct 19, 2010I've got an AutoCompleteExtender on one of my pages, it seems to be working fine aside from this strange behaviour: Let's say I key in 2 characters, the suggestion list would display. When I press on backspace to delete those 2 characters, wait until the suggestion list to disappear, and re-enter those 2 characters, the suggestion list would no longer display (or sometimes would flicker for about a second after losing focus from the textbox) and I'll need to refresh the page just to get it working again.
However, if I do press backspace and delete those 2 characters but not let the suggestion list to disappear and re-enter new characters, it would continue displaying with correct suggestions. This behaviour seems to happen only in IE8, (although it works with IE8 using Compatibility View and Firefox)... My code is almost the same as the sample on this site except for the animations, and the service looks up in a database table.

May 21, 2010I am having a problem with the AutoCompleteExtender contol that I've put up on my webpage. I have this employee page where the seach is done at the very top and I'm using this control ; The formatted name is my search key that I'm doing in my web method. Now when I am deleting an employee and reloading the page...the Formatted name still appears during the page load. I've to close the window and load it again to get the updated employee list.

May 24, 2010I am using AjaxAutoCompleteExtender in my asp.net program (C#) . I am applying the extender to a texbox and using internal Web Service. I am getting the desired result, when i am running from the development environment. After Publishing the site to IIS, I am not getting the list and not showing any errors. I have turned off custom errors. My website is not an Ajax Enabled WebSite. So i added the lines into my Web.Config.I tried all service path.. http://localhost/Test/ WebService.asmxhttp://192.109.1.8/Test/WebService.asmxand i tried ~/Test/WebService.aspxWhile testing from the development environment, i am using the last one.I am not sure whether this is the problem with the service path or any permission issue.

AJAX :: AutoCompleteExtender Key Value In Text Box?
Apr 7, 2010I am using ASP.NET 3.5...I have a text box where I am using the AutoCompleteExtender for search.
When user enter the key the serach shows the "ProjectNumber-ProjectName" in the search result....after selecting any of this...only ProjectNumber is entered in the textbox (I am using hidden control to store key values)...everything works fine till here.Now I have a problem with values stored in the hidden control...for example in the text box there are three ProjectNumbers ..A,B,C....now I go ahead and delete all these three and enter the key word again...the search work fine but when I select any value the Text box is populated with old value (coming from hidden control) like A,B,C and then new value D
Please suggest me how I can assign the hidden text box value with the new text box values after the selection is done...
