Mar 5, 2011On my MasterPage I use UpdatePanel to update whole ContentPlaceHolder. Example of code you can find below. All content pages work fine with this MasterPage except one. This page is very complex. I noticed that when I disable UpdatePanel in my MasterPage this problematic page works fine. Question: is it possible to exclude something from UpdatePanel - in my example whole page but only this one?

Jan 8, 2011I have a web form for payments which consists of a DropDownList (credit card, purchase order, bill me). By default, credit card is selected, and the form (a ListView within a UpdatePanel) is loaded with the user's billing address. If the user changes the payment option, the form fields change -- for example, if purchase order is selected, the billing address + credit card fields disappear and a "Purchase Order Number" textbox appears. This is done using an AsyncPostBackTrigger associated with an event in the DropDownList.My problem is that when the form is submitted, I cannot see the user-entered values within the UpdatePanel/ListView, but I can see the original values loaded in the ListView before the edits were made. For example, if purchase order is selected, I can see the billing address from the ListView, but I cannot see the newly-entered Purchase Order Number from the ListView.Here's an abbreviated version of my code. I've bolded and commented two lines where the problem appears:

AJAX :: Multiple UpdatePanel And UpdateProgress - Web UI To Be Updated With The Progress
Jan 31, 2010I want to trigger two Async Postbacks at once using UpdatePanel's via their associated buttons such as the example at the end of [URL] When you click the first button, then immediately click the second button, the first button's message never gets updated. By clicking the second button, the first async Post back seems to be cancelled. Why does this happen?
I saw this article about only allowing one postback to occur at a time here: [URL] Is this the desired behavior for Multiple update panels? Can only one run async code at once? What's the point of it being async if you can't do multiple at once? Here's what I'm trying to do overall: I want a webpage where I click a button which causes C# code to search a certain webpage and parse it. Based on the parsed information, it should automatically start searching multiple other webpages. All the while, I want the web UI to be updated with the progress.
Button Press and the client UI says "Searching..." Then the webpage is found so I want to display "Parsing..." Then the webpage parsing is complete and multiple other websites are searched at the same so the UI will display:
Webpage 1 updating...
Webpage 2 updating...
Webpage 3 updating...
Then when the Webpage 1 -3 are done updating, they change their progress message to Complete. I just started looking into ASP a few days ago and I have two ideas how to approach this problem: zy first idea was to use UpdatePanels and UpdateProgress because they seemed easy to get in there. However, the part of updating multiple webpage status messages at once doesn't appear to be possible since I can't have two UpdatePanels updating at the same time to make changes to the client UI. The one that is started second takes over the processing and the client UI isn't refreshed until that second asynch postback is complete. Ideally, there would be a way to refresh the UpdatePanel's mid postback............

Before calling show() of modalpopup i am setting some text to a label inside the popup control. But when the popup comes, the updated text is not showing.

"EconomicBongah.ascx" UserControl work correctly, because that this usercontrol loaded in Page_Load Event for the first time.
when i click on the btn_Article,"EconomicArticleMarket.ascx" UserControl Get loaded, but with the first user control code will interfere,and therefor Javascript or jquery code in second usercontrol can not execute, and encounter with error in Jquery-1.4.4.js file.

Jul 28, 2010Using ASP.NET 3.5 / C#. Have a page with a UpdatePanel, and a UserControl inside the UpdatePanel. When calling ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this, typeof(UpdatePanel), Guid.NewGuid().ToString(), script, false); the script appears to fire (have tried it with a JS alert), but the resulting script also disappears immediately afterword. I am trying to create a JS function via the script, and it is not in the Page Source after the Page is rendered. i have tried many variationsRegisterClientScriptBlock with no luck.

Mar 17, 2011I've a ASP.Net page (Default.aspx) which will load UserControl (ucontrol.ascx) dynamically into an UpdatePanel. By using UpdatePanel, we believe we're able to prevent the entire page to be posted-back.
My problem is, within the UserControl, we have some form controls, such as inputs and buttons; after the UserControl is loaded, clicking on any button inside the UserControl will cause the UpdatePanel to be blanked. During the investigation, I found that, breakpoints within the Button1_Click() in the code-behind for the UserControl is never reached. Jul 27, 2010I have a page with two updatepanels both which have thier triggers outside of the panels themselves - I am setting the triggers using in the pageload event. This is how it works - there is a repeater that holds a list of links which gets set when the page loads (this is outside of the update panel). The first udpatepanel has a trigger set to the itemcommand of this list of links - it then goes out and gets the sub links and fills a repeater that is located in the update panel. - so forgetting all about the second update panel on the page... If I set the panels updateMode="conditional" then it doesn't render till I click the link twice. If I put a breakpoint in the code I can clearly see that the code is executing and that there is no error but again... Nothing renders
- I click the link again it renders. If I take out the UpdateMode="conditional" statement all is well... But I don't want that cause I two update panels on the page.
The second one also has sort of the same problem - The trigger I have set for it the ItemCommand for the repeater in update panel one... when I click one of the linkButton's in the first updatepanel sure enougn I see the code execute return my results and all seems well however there is nothing rendered on the page. BUT!!! When I click one of the main links on top (remember these are trigger for updatepanel one) my second repeater inside of updatepanel2 is shows up on the page.
What is causing the partial postback not to render anything?
I know this is confusing so I hope I explained myself well enough. I will just post the ASPX so you can see how I am setting this up - I don't think you need to see the code behind... If anyone does then I will post it.
Again - all this is to with the updateMode - when I remove it (as I did in this code sample) it works and renders however I don't want both updatePanel to get updated at the same time.

How To Identify Which Controls Are Updated In UpdatePanel
Jul 28, 2010I have a UserControl (UC) which is in an UpdatePanel. When the UC is loaded, I run a recursive method to set tooltip for all Button, LinkButton, and DropDownList in this UC. The problem is sometimes I only update 1 control in the UC such as a DropDownList, but I have to call the recursive method on all controls of the UC. I was wondering whether there is any way to identify which controls is updated in the UpdatePanel so that I can update correctly these controls.

Feb 8, 2011I have a user control with both an UpdatePanel and a ScriptManager.
Some pages in the system have a ScriptManager of their own, and need to include the UserControl.
This throws the "You can only have 1 ScriptManager" exception.
If I remove UserControl's ScriptManager, I'll get 'UpdatePanel1 requires a Script Manager" exception.
I've tried to modify the UserControl to dynamically include it's own script manager if none exists. But all the methods I've used before involve adding a delegate to Page.OnInit-- which won't work, since the UserControl Init fires first.
Because the system designers here like making my life difficult, I can't create a MasterPage, or a BasePage for the system in inherit off of. I'd be stuck going to each page an adding a ScriptManager before the UserControl on each of them. Is there any way of, in the UserControl, detecting if the page has a ScriptManager, and if not, adding it dynamically in a way that makes the UpdatePanel happy?
AJAX :: Nested UserControl With UserControl Disappears On Partial Postback
Jan 28, 2011I have a page with an UpdatePanel with a UserControl in it. That UserControl contains a GridView with a nested UserControl that seems to disappear when the parent UserControl is rebound. I cannot for the life of me figure out why the child UserControl disappears. The code works beautifully on the first load, but any partial postback causes the "Pick" UserControl to disappear.

C# - Dynamically Loading Usercontrol In Updatepanel?
Feb 16, 2011So I'm trying to dynamically load a usercontrol into a placeholder in another usercontrol inside a updatepanel.
basically I've got this markup:

In the codebehind of the popup usercontrol I have:

Nothing loads into the placeholder though.

Can anyone explain to me why regular controls are loaded fine, but my usercontrol isn't loaded?
UserControl Causes Full Postback In UpdatePanel
Mar 24, 2011I'm having few UpdatePanels on my master page. And then, I have RadTreeViewcontrol on the page, that should cause partial postback each time node is clicked. Everything works fine there. Since I'm using the same tree on some other pages, I moved this functionality to UserControl. Stuff I've done before, so no problem. Moved some code to ascx, created some events. Everything always worked for me well. But not now. RadTreeView is nested inside UserControl, and this control on master page with update panels, see below:

What I don't know is: why is this causing full postback instead of partial? I suspect that it may have something to do with raising my for SelectedNodeChange, but I don't know how to deal with it other way. I need to let other components know, that node selection changed. How can I improve this to make it work with UpdatePanels?

May 7, 2010Got some small(Basic) doubt on update panel. Using Update Panel, Is it possible to stop updating a part of Page ?
The problem is, I have a very small portion of page, in which I'm updating some data using JavaScript, Which I want to retain(in ASP language Maintain State) for any post back that will occur in Page. I thought placing update panel will solve the purpose, But as per Update panel principle, It will updates only that part of page based on the Triggers conditions.
I want it exactly in reverse way (It is very difficult for me to place Update panel for the entire page excluding the small part).
Linkbutton Not Firing RowCommand Gridview UpdatePanel UserControl?
Jun 23, 2010I have a problem with my Linkbutton which is not firing the RowCommand of my gridview.
Just for an Idea what I am doing is a follows:
1. WebForm
WebForm hosts UserControl_A.
2. UserControl_A = UpdatePanel + Panels + Gridview1 + CollapsiblePanelExtender
Updatepanel of UserControl_A consists of multiple Panels.
Each Panel consists of a Gridview1.
Upon each Panel expand UserControl_B is loaded.
3. UserControl_B = Details View & a couple of Linkbuttons in GridView2
Upon clicking the Linkbutton, unexpectedly it makes a refresh for the entire UserControl_A.
But it does not fire the RowCommand of its parent GridView2.
Triggering UpdatePanel On A Button Contained Within A UserControl Situated On The Webpage
Feb 1, 2010I would like an UpdatPanel to update it's content once a button is clicked - this button is contained within a UserControl placed on the webpage.However, I cannot just simply reference it using the AsyncPostBackTrigger's ControlID property, because the button is not situated directly on the webpage.
