I have a user control 'UserControl1'.
Which is in update panel of ajax.
Now i want to use trigger in update panel.
Then what should i write in eventname of trigger
<Triggers>
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger controlid=" UserControl1 " eventname="????" />
</Triggers>
In my web page, i have user control inside update panel, user control refreshed every time update by update panel.
View 3 Repliesmy problem is it that i when loaded usercontrol in Updatepanel dynamically,so can not execute javascript or jquery code in second usercontrol.
"EconomicBongah.ascx" UserControl work correctly, because that this usercontrol loaded in Page_Load Event for the first time.
when i click on the btn_Article,"EconomicArticleMarket.ascx" UserControl Get loaded, but with the first user control code will interfere,and therefor Javascript or jquery code in second usercontrol can not execute, and encounter with error in Jquery-1.4.4.js file.
i loaded usercontrol dynamically in this case:

Using ASP.NET 3.5 / C#. Have a page with a UpdatePanel, and a UserControl inside the UpdatePanel. When calling ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this, typeof(UpdatePanel), Guid.NewGuid().ToString(), script, false); the script appears to fire (have tried it with a JS alert), but the resulting script also disappears immediately afterword. I am trying to create a JS function via the script, and it is not in the Page Source after the Page is rendered. i have tried many variationsRegisterClientScriptBlock with no luck.
View 8 RepliesI've a ASP.Net page (Default.aspx) which will load UserControl (ucontrol.ascx) dynamically into an UpdatePanel. By using UpdatePanel, we believe we're able to prevent the entire page to be posted-back.
My problem is, within the UserControl, we have some form controls, such as inputs and buttons; after the UserControl is loaded, clicking on any button inside the UserControl will cause the UpdatePanel to be blanked. During the investigation, I found that, breakpoints within the Button1_Click() in the code-behind for the UserControl is never reached. Please reference to the code below, this references to [REFERENCE]1.

I have a UserControl that is Added dynamicatlly into the page using UpdatePanel. That user control has an extender that does not work.
View 4 RepliesI have a user control with both an UpdatePanel and a ScriptManager.
Some pages in the system have a ScriptManager of their own, and need to include the UserControl.
This throws the "You can only have 1 ScriptManager" exception.
If I remove UserControl's ScriptManager, I'll get 'UpdatePanel1 requires a Script Manager" exception.
I've tried to modify the UserControl to dynamically include it's own script manager if none exists. But all the methods I've used before involve adding a delegate to Page.OnInit-- which won't work, since the UserControl Init fires first.
Because the system designers here like making my life difficult, I can't create a MasterPage, or a BasePage for the system in inherit off of. I'd be stuck going to each page an adding a ScriptManager before the UserControl on each of them. Is there any way of, in the UserControl, detecting if the page has a ScriptManager, and if not, adding it dynamically in a way that makes the UpdatePanel happy?
I have a page with an UpdatePanel with a UserControl in it. That UserControl contains a GridView with a nested UserControl that seems to disappear when the parent UserControl is rebound. I cannot for the life of me figure out why the child UserControl disappears. The code works beautifully on the first load, but any partial postback causes the "Pick" UserControl to disappear.

So I'm trying to dynamically load a usercontrol into a placeholder in another usercontrol inside a updatepanel.
basically I've got this markup:
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="upPopup" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<UC:Popup runat="server" ID="UC_Popup" />
</ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
And then this markup inside that usercontrol (Popup):
<div id="modal">
<asp:PlaceHolder ID="phPopupPlaceholder" runat="server"></asp:PlaceHolder>
<asp:Label ID="lblModal" runat="server"></asp:Label>
</div>
In the codebehind of the popup usercontrol I have:
public void Show(UserControl control) {
this.phPopupPlaceholder.Controls.Add(control);
this.lblModal.Text = "Loaded";
}
And I call this show method elsewhere with:
Popup.show(new MyUserControl());
Nothing loads into the placeholder though.
But in the show method I can load regular server-controls fine like this:
this.phPopupPlaceholder.Controls.Add(new Label(){ Text = "Label!" });
Can anyone explain to me why regular controls are loaded fine, but my usercontrol isn't loaded?
I'm having few UpdatePanels on my master page. And then, I have RadTreeViewcontrol on the page, that should cause partial postback each time node is clicked. Everything works fine there. Since I'm using the same tree on some other pages, I moved this functionality to UserControl. Stuff I've done before, so no problem. Moved some code to ascx, created some events. Everything always worked for me well. But not now. RadTreeView is nested inside UserControl, and this control on master page with update panels, see below:
<asp:Panel ID="pnlContentWrapper" runat="server" CssClass="ContentWrapper">
<div id="HeaderBreadCrumb">
<asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="HeaderBreadCrumbContent" runat="server" />
</div>
<div id="HeaderMenu">
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="upnlTreeMenu" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="HeaderMenuContent" runat="server" />
</ContentTemplate>
<Triggers>
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="treeProductTree" />
</Triggers>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
</div>
<div id="TreeDiv">
<fp:ProductTree ID="treeProductTree" runat="server" />
</div>
<asp:Panel ID="ContentDiv" ClientIDMode="Static" runat="server">
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="upnlTreeContent" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="TreePageContent" runat="server" />
</ContentTemplate>
<Triggers>
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="treeProductTree" />
</Triggers>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
</asp:Panel>
</asp:Panel>
And the user control is really simple:
<%@ Control Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeBehind="ProductTree.ascx.vb"
Inherits="ProductTree" %>
<div>
<telerik:RadTreeView ID="treeProductTree" ClientIDMode="Static" runat="server" EnableDragAndDrop="false"
SkinID="CustomSkin" CssClass="MasterProductTree" DataFieldID="NodeId" DataFieldParentID="NodeParentId"
DataTextField="NodeName" DataValueField="NodeId" />
</div>
And some code behind:
Imports Telerik.Web.UI
Public Class ProductTree
Inherits System.Web.UI.UserControl
Public Event NodeExpand As EventHandler(Of ProductTreeNodeExpandEventArgs)
Public Event SelectedNodeChange As EventHandler
Protected Sub ProductTree_NodeExpand(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As RadTreeNodeEventArgs) _
Handles treeProductTree.NodeExpand
Dim nodeId As Integer = CInt(e.Node.Value)
Dim evetArgs = New ProductTreeNodeExpandEventArgs(nodeId)
RaiseEvent NodeExpand(Me, evetArgs)
//'some logic
End Sub
Protected Sub ProductTree_OnNodeClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As RadTreeNodeEventArgs) _
Handles treeProductTree.NodeClick
RaiseEvent SelectedNodeChange(Me, New System.EventArgs())
End Sub
End Class
What I don't know is: why is this causing full postback instead of partial? I suspect that it may have something to do with raising my for SelectedNodeChange, but I don't know how to deal with it other way. I need to let other components know, that node selection changed. How can I improve this to make it work with UpdatePanels?
i am doing Fileupload using asp.net 3.5 with asp.net ajax.In that i am using Usercontrol MainPage.ascx Page:In this page i am using UpdatePanel inside Fileupload control. View 2 RepliesI have a problem with my Linkbutton which is not firing the RowCommand of my gridview.
Just for an Idea what I am doing is a follows:
1. WebForm
WebForm hosts UserControl_A.
2. UserControl_A = UpdatePanel + Panels + Gridview1 + CollapsiblePanelExtender
Updatepanel of UserControl_A consists of multiple Panels.
Each Panel consists of a Gridview1.
Upon each Panel expand UserControl_B is loaded.
3. UserControl_B = Details View & a couple of Linkbuttons in GridView2
Upon clicking the Linkbutton, unexpectedly it makes a refresh for the entire UserControl_A.
But it does not fire the RowCommand of its parent GridView2.
I would like an UpdatPanel to update it's content once a button is clicked - this button is contained within a UserControl placed on the webpage.However, I cannot just simply reference it using the AsyncPostBackTrigger's ControlID property, because the button is not situated directly on the webpage.
View 2 RepliesHere is what I am trying to do. I have a page with two link buttons and an updatepanel (the two linkbuttons trigger the updatepanel). I have two usercontrols which have labels with same ID's. When I click the first link button, I add the first usercontrol to the updatepanel and set the label value to datetime.now
when i click the second link button i add the second usercontrol but i see that the value of the label from the first control is set in the label in second user control. if the id's are different there is no problem - but in my case the usercontrols are being developed by different teams and I am integrating them in the way i mentioned - so they may have same ids.
i have a usercontrol inside an updatepanel. when i click some button this usercontrol will be loaded. and the usercontrol itself has anither button in it. the problem is that the usercontrol code behind is never executed and when the button is clicked the usercontrol disappears.
View 1 RepliesI am currently using a asp.net 2.0 with visual studio 2005.
I am trying to build a web application using ajax.
but when I drag the ajax updatepanel on asp.net page it is not resizable,so how should i put other controls on it?
i am using a TabContainer and at each TabPanel i have embed an UpdatePanel in order to update each tab alone.
this is my code:
[Code]....
the problem is that it makes several seconds to update each tab (the same time for every tab) and i asume that this is happening because it updates all the TabContainer and not the selected Tab.
I have two updatepanels on my site (upanProfileSearch and upanMemberList). When I hit the button in the upanProfileSearch it should bind the Data Items in the gridview in upanMemberList and here make a RowFilter on the text in upanProfileSearch. When I make a run to curser, I can see, it happens. It makes a RowFilter. but it doesn't update the gridview. Can anyone tell me why it doesn't update? I have UpdateMode="Always" and RenderMode="inline" on both UpdatePanels.

I have a dropdownlist, that causes a postback. On the SelectedIndexChanged event, is it possible to force a placeholder that is within a different UpdatePanel to change it's visibility?
For example, when the SelectedItem.Value of DropDownList1 is "1" then show Placeholder1, otherwise hide it.
What I am most interested in is how to configure the UpdatePanels to allow this.
How to implement updatepanel functionality without updatepanel?
I am tring to use XMLHttpRequest but I am getting problem while redering a usercontrol containing postback controls in response of an Ajax request.
Here is my code

I have a web user control with one updatepanel (pnlUpdate_2), some controls and one apply button. I display the web user control as a modalpopup in my default page. In my default page i have an updatepanel (pnlUpdate_1) with a gridview and I modify that gridview with the apply button of the web user control. The web user control is for made a custom search of the gridview data. I have a problem with both updatepanels. If I set the updatemode as always in one of them (pnlUpdate_1) and the other as conditional (pnlUpdate_2), the pnlUpdate_1 make a postback in the pnlUpdate_2; I'm not an expert on this but I think that's why the pnlUpdate_2 disappear and reappear after postback of some controls in that updatepanel (not the apply button, it close the modal after postback). I try all the combinations and the problem persists. So I put both updatepanels as conditional and in some way it works; now the problem is that when I click the apply button in pnlUpdate_2 to modify the gridview in pnlUpdate_1 the pnlUpdate_1 not made the postback I get the pnlUpdate_2 postback when I use some control inside the pnlUpdate_1.
How can I postback the pnlUpdate1 from pnlUpdate_2 with the apply button?
I have a masterpage and inside that masterage is a user control that has a toolbar with a save button. I then have an aspx page that inherits form t he master page. In that page I have and updatepanel. Is it possible to set the post back trigger to the Save button inside the usercontrol?
View 3 Repliesi have a website with three UpdatePanel Control and inside of each UpdatePanels has ONE Gridview and a SqlDataSource Control.
all gridviews are connected to its own SqlDataSource Control. so technically when i run my website all gridviews automatically get their data from their respective SqlDataSource Control and display them accordingly.
but what i need to do is instead of letting all the update panels to load each gridview their data upon Onload event, i need the updatepanel to update on queue, (Technically changing the UpdateMode to Conditional does not solve my problem.) there will be an event which will trigger the updatepanel to update later.
