AJAX :: Find ModalPopupExtender Is Shown Or Hidden?
Aug 18, 2010
I just want to find whether the ModalpopupExtender is shown or hidden in Javascript
like,
if($find('ctl00_contentArea_MpInfoError').Show())
// Above line is wrong here i need correct code to find out.
{
//do something
}
else
{
//do something
}
I have a panel extended by the ModalPopupExtender that is sometimes shown using the .Show() method in my code-behind. I have a javascript function that resizes the popup and am able to get it to run when I use the client-side show function but how do I run the same javascript function when using the server-side Show() function?
I recently came across the AsyncFileUpload control in the latest (3.0.40412) release of the ASP.Net Ajax Control Toolkit. There appears to be an issue when using it in a hidden control that is later revealed, such as a tag with
[Code]....
Server-side Code - [Code]....
I have a breakpoint on the UploadedComplete event but it never fires. However, if you take the AsyncFileUpload control out of the , making it visible at initial page render, the control works as expected.
I need to select my field data using a 3 step drownlist process (shown in the following screenshot):
But I can't find a way to get the Model SelectedValue and SelectedItem when Select is clicked. After it's selected it has to be filled in the Autofield on the background, and when close is pressed the original value has to be reloaded.
Iam facing a problem in ModalPopupExtender, i have made a usercontrol to show a popup frame and made popheader for dragging the header. but iam unable to find the panel id for PopupDragHandleControlID. can anyone tell me how to do. user control
I have created a popup window with the modalpopupextender. Inside the popup window is an Updatepanel that contains an OK button, a Search Button, a databound Datagrid and some checkboxes.
The problem is that when i press the OK button, i want to find the rows in the datagrid that have been checked with the checkboxes.... but i can't find the datagrid on the page! Any suggestions to how i can find the datagrid in the updatepanel?

Initially, ModalPopup Content Container is an empty control.After user clicks on the Button, a async postback will be triggered. During the postback, the server generates the content and appends to ModalPopup Content Container.Also sets the properties of ModalPopupExtender. Finally, calls ModalPopupExtender.Show() method and UpdatePanel.Update() method to show the modal popup.
This method works fine if all controls in ModalPopup Content Container contains simple control. If a control is a button that needs to postback to server side, that is a problem.Since the controls in ModalPopup Content Container is dynamically created. If a control in ModalPopup Content Container triggers a postback event, the control must be created before RaisePostBackEvent is called in server side.
My idea is to determine whether the ModalPopupExtender is hidden or shown in client side in order to re-generate the dynamic control in ModalPopup Content Container.So my question is how to determine a ModalPopupExtender is hidden or shown.
I've got a set of ASP.Net pages that display a number of asp:TextBox fields depending on the number of entries in a configuration file. I know that the number of fields won't be going above 10 or so. Given that, should I declare a sufficiently large number of text boxes in markup, or should I dynamically create the textboxes in the code-behind?
There are advantages and disadvantages to each approach, which is why I'm having trouble choosing. The advantage to the dynamic approach is that the application is more flexible - even if the number of fields goes above 10, my application will be able to scale. The disadvantage is that I'm now mixing markup and logic - my application is inserting textboxes and literals (for the labels) into the page. This will make future maintenance harder because not all of the fields are in the .aspx file.
The advantage to declaring a large form and then just showing or hiding the necessary fields is that it keeps logic and markup separate. The disadvantage, of course, is that I lose flexibility. If the number of fields goes beyond the amount I anticipate (and there is a small risk of that) I have to revisit the application to add more fields. So, StackOverflow, which would you choose? More importantly, why would you choose your approach?
I would really appreciate if someone can find out what's wrong with this code.
Here is my question. I have textboxes in a modal popup extender (City, state, zip) and there is an image button search for searching the address from the database. All this functionality is within a control (.ascx file). This control is added to the page where it needs to be displayed and is being displayed when a user click the Address button (the code for it is not shown here). The method ShowAddressSearch() in the control is being called from the page and it displays the popup.
When the user enters any of the 3 values and hits search a server event is fired up and the result should be displayed in a grid. What is happening is, when the user hits the search button the server call is made and the data fetched from the db but the modal popup closes itself here is the code for this. I would really appreciate if someone can find out where and how popup is getting closed.
I have a modal popup extender with one control (ascx) this control has a label that on onclic method call other popup extender.
It's has other ascx, it's has a button for a search. When I do Click in this button in first time, the event click not fired and there are a javascript error that say "this._activeDRagVisual is null reference".
In the other hand, If a use de second popup inside an asp page the event and control work correctly. The problem is with the popup inside popup.
I have an Updatepanel inside hidden Div, but I am getting "Could not find UpdatePanel with ID 'ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder_ctl04_UpdatePanel1'. I am trying to show and hide this panel from code behind. Here is my code.
I have an web application with a masterpage, a modalPopupExtender to insert new records, and and updatePanel with a gridview inside, which I have modified the edit and delete buttons into a templateField to allow the use of a confirmButtonExtender.The problem is that I cannot edit (you click on the edit button, you modify the record, but I cannot confirm the edit).But, if I show the modalPopup (it doesn't matter if I insert a new record or not), the, the edit works, anyone knows what could be?
Using ASP.NET 2.0, VB code behind, I am using a ModalPopupExtender to show some dynamic content on my site inside an update panel. The problem I am having is that sometimes the content stretches the modal pop-up panel (div) so that it flows off the screen. In cases where the height of the popup panel exceeds some defined height I would like to limit the height and add a vertical scroll bar (otherwise the panel should have no height minimum).
I have written a JavaScript to perform this task (see below). I use my code behind to display the modal popup... so now my problem is how (when) do I kick-off my javascript to limit the height of my modal popup. Kicking off the script on pageLoaded finds that the popup container's display setting has not been set yet, therefore ConstrainPanelHeight is never executed... how can I kick off my javascript after the model popup is shown?
I have a gridview control in which rows have textboxes associated with a PopupControlExtender. The popup is just a panel with some checkboxes, ok, cancel buttons, etc. When the popup is shown and the Ok button clicked, I need to know which row in the grid, or which textbox in the row, is currently associated with the shown popup. How do I accomplish this?
when I hover over a menu option it's contents are shown above instead of the Bottom off. Even though the hover control says bottom. In my browser and others it works fine, I use IE8. But some browsers it's goes wrong.
I have a modal popup extender and associated panel on a page. The modal popup is displayed when a user clicks on a button. The content of the popup might consist of a series of hi-res images which might take a significant time to download. The problem is that although the modal popup is not shown its content is downloaded regardless. I think that popup is initially assigned "display:none" and it's code and content are downloaded by the browser - which is an expected behavior.
how to delay download of the content until the popup is shown?
I think I could do a server-side show() on the modal popup but I wonder if there are other solutions.
