I have a breakpoint on the UploadedComplete event but it never fires. However, if you take the AsyncFileUpload control out of the , making it visible at initial page render, the control works as expected.

I just want to find whether the ModalpopupExtender is shown or hidden in Javascript

if($find('ctl00_contentArea_MpInfoError').Show()) // Above line is wrong here i need correct code to find out. { //do something } else { //do something }
I've got a set of ASP.Net pages that display a number of asp:TextBox fields depending on the number of entries in a configuration file. I know that the number of fields won't be going above 10 or so. Given that, should I declare a sufficiently large number of text boxes in markup, or should I dynamically create the textboxes in the code-behind?
There are advantages and disadvantages to each approach, which is why I'm having trouble choosing. The advantage to the dynamic approach is that the application is more flexible - even if the number of fields goes above 10, my application will be able to scale. The disadvantage is that I'm now mixing markup and logic - my application is inserting textboxes and literals (for the labels) into the page. This will make future maintenance harder because not all of the fields are in the .aspx file.
The advantage to declaring a large form and then just showing or hiding the necessary fields is that it keeps logic and markup separate. The disadvantage, of course, is that I lose flexibility. If the number of fields goes beyond the amount I anticipate (and there is a small risk of that) I have to revisit the application to add more fields. So, StackOverflow, which would you choose? More importantly, why would you choose your approach?
My development environment: VS2010, win7. My regular solution setup for authoring a custom control is a Website project which I use for testing purposes and an ASP.NET server control project which is the actual control. Sometimes when I make changes to the custom control project and rebuild the solution the changes I made to the custom control are not shown/implemented when control is used in my testing project so I MUST close the solution and reopen it in order for my changes to appear.
How to get data (read file) chosen in FileUpload control without FileUpload.SaveAs Method on the server? Is it possible write it at once to some object?
I have a FileUpload control in an UpdatePanel and when user select a file, the full file path will will be stored in a hiddenfield, and during postback, i would like to assign the full file path in the hiddenfield back to the FileUpload control textbox, possible to achieve that?
I've added a .ascx control in a Master Page in the site's root. It is perfectly shown when the page is in the same master page path (in the root in this case), but when the page is contained in a subfolder, the component isn't displayed.
I have a custom user control which contains a asp hiddenfield object. The value of this hidden field is being set using javascript and I have verified that the value is being set properly. When a postback occurs the new value is not being saved and I cannot access it in my code.
I believe the problem is because the user control is not saved in viewstate and therefore the hidden field value is not saved accross postback. How can I make the hidden field save its value? I tried accessing it from the early page cycles and still no luck.
I have a ListView control that only displays one record at a time. I have a LinqDataSource that can return one or more records. I have a function that determines the number of records and returns a psuedo random number between 1 and the number of records returned. When the page first loads, I want to display a random record. After that, I want the datapager to move the user normally through the records.
In my Page Load Event, if Page.IsPostBack is false, I get the random number. Let's say for simplicity I have 15 records and the randon number generated is 6. How do I tell the LinqDataSource to display the record at index 6?
i am using <input type="hidden" id="hiddenValue" name="hiddenValue" runat="server">
hidden control in my asp.net, and setting it value when page load, and when i clicked on a button then my server side code change hidden control value, and when i tried to access it value after another clicking of button then it showing me
first time value,
so why hidden control does not reset its value, how can i reset the hidden control value?
My Code
Page_Load(){ if(!Page.IspostBack){ hiddenValue.Value ="ABC"; } } ButtoClick1(){ hiddenValue.Value ="BAD"; } ButtoClick2(){ // it give me 'ABC' value, instead of 'BAD' string s = hiddenValue.Value; }
So I have my login and password txtboxes in the master page header, When I click on login button it should hide those boxes and display something else.But everytime I navigate to another content page they get visible again. What it the best solution to keep them hidden while the user is logged in?
I have a custom listbox control intern it has "hidden input server control".and i want assign values to that hidden control.That custom control is in table which runs at server.When i try to find hidden control using Page.Findcontrol and <tblserver>.findcontrol it is returing with null.Can you please help on this.

I have a web form, and an "add vendor" button. Click the button, a modal dialog pops up (ajax:ModalPopupExtender). User selects one of two radio buttons which shows a data bound asp:View in an update panel - this view is data bound to a single row and must be populated by the user. However I also want to provide a cancel button which should close the modal dialog and reset the bound view.
However what is happening is that the ModalExtender closes, but when the "add vendor" button is presented again, it's still bound to the same data. Do I need to clear my data source? How so I reset the forms/views so that when the 'add vendor' button is clicked again the form is presented as it should be (IE the 2 select options, picking one re-binds the asp:View)?
I have a user control that i have registered to an aspx page. Now from the aspx page, i am trying to access one of the registered usercontrol's hiddenfield value in my aspx page using javacript using the below code:
I looked into the page's trace, and i could see 'control1$hdnField'. Then why i am not getting its value in my aspx page. I have also confirmed that the hidden field by this name exists in the user control and also has a default value set.
have a tree view control build dynamically. i want to change color of the selected node from client side. write the script given below. and its work fine.
Once the user selects a file in the first control, I want to set the default value for the 2nd control to be the value from the first control.
For example, if it were textbox controls I would just use TextBox1.text = TextBox2.text.
How do I do this for FileUpload controls? I tried a few different properties, such as FileUpload1.FileName = FileUpload2.FileName but I get an error saying that they are Read Only.
I would like to simply have an image button on my page that would show an image that says something like "Upload File".When the user clicks the button I would like for it to automate popping up the "select file dialog" exactly like the "browse" button does on the FileUpload control now. Then if the user selects a file and click "OK" I want to do a post back where I can then initiate the upload. If the user clicks cancel from the dialog I would do nothing.So all I am trying to do her is make it so that the user does not see the text box for the file name and replace the plain old browse button with an image and do a postback if they click ok from the dialog.
i want when i click on button it do some thing like FileUpLoad control i means when click on button it open mycomputer window and we can select file and it upload file to server exactly like fileupload control How i can do it?
