I have an UpdatePanel like this:

Is there a way to hide this UpdatePanel after some seconds?
I have a webform which has a textbox called "Branch ID" and onblur of that textbox it shows "Spinner wheel" animation after the field and checks the Branch ID in table for existence using Ajax call and Ajax call returns the text if its available or not and after finishing ajax call it hides the animation. Since I've put update panel before the textbox my jquery code which hide/unhide the spinner animation is not working. here is the code

I'm looking for the easiest possible way to hide an UpdatePanel while waiting for the submit response to come back. Stuff like described here - using Ajax Control Toolkit and the UpdatePanelAnimationExtender is both overkill and causing some issues, namely:
Because there are a couple of hidden panels in the page it gets all messed up and hides the wrong panels. I have no idea why this is happening; I can't find a way to specify that only one button is supposed to trigger the animation. I did specify a in the UpdatePanel, but it seems that is ignored and all the controls inside the panel trigger the animation. A simple javascript solution would be ideal. The problem here is ASP.NET likes to generate weird IDs for the controls at runtime. Any solutions for that?
I am using UpdatePanel ---> LinkButton --> Div --->Table Structure.

View 1 RepliesThis is a simplified version of what I want to do. Basically I have a datalist with a bunch of stuff in it and when you mouseover items in the datalist I want jquery to hide/show stuff. The problem is that after I databind my gridview/repeater/datalist jquery quits working if the gridview/repeater/datalist is in an update panel. After you click the button in the sample below, the jquery that makes the span show up when you mouse over quits working. Any ideas of why this is happening, how to fix it or a better way to do this?

but when I drag the ajax updatepanel on asp.net page it is not resizable,so how should i put other controls on it?
i am using a TabContainer and at each TabPanel i have embed an UpdatePanel in order to update each tab alone.

the problem is that it makes several seconds to update each tab (the same time for every tab) and i asume that this is happening because it updates all the TabContainer and not the selected Tab.
I have two updatepanels on my site (upanProfileSearch and upanMemberList). When I hit the button in the upanProfileSearch it should bind the Data Items in the gridview in upanMemberList and here make a RowFilter on the text in upanProfileSearch. When I make a run to curser, I can see, it happens. It makes a RowFilter. but it doesn't update the gridview. Can anyone tell me why it doesn't update? I have UpdateMode="Always" and RenderMode="inline" on both UpdatePanels.

I have a dropdownlist, that causes a postback. On the SelectedIndexChanged event, is it possible to force a placeholder that is within a different UpdatePanel to change it's visibility?
For example, when the SelectedItem.Value of DropDownList1 is "1" then show Placeholder1, otherwise hide it.
What I am most interested in is how to configure the UpdatePanels to allow this.

I have a web user control with one updatepanel (pnlUpdate_2), some controls and one apply button. I display the web user control as a modalpopup in my default page. In my default page i have an updatepanel (pnlUpdate_1) with a gridview and I modify that gridview with the apply button of the web user control. The web user control is for made a custom search of the gridview data. I have a problem with both updatepanels. If I set the updatemode as always in one of them (pnlUpdate_1) and the other as conditional (pnlUpdate_2), the pnlUpdate_1 make a postback in the pnlUpdate_2; I'm not an expert on this but I think that's why the pnlUpdate_2 disappear and reappear after postback of some controls in that updatepanel (not the apply button, it close the modal after postback). I try all the combinations and the problem persists. So I put both updatepanels as conditional and in some way it works; now the problem is that when I click the apply button in pnlUpdate_2 to modify the gridview in pnlUpdate_1 the pnlUpdate_1 not made the postback I get the pnlUpdate_2 postback when I use some control inside the pnlUpdate_1.
How can I postback the pnlUpdate1 from pnlUpdate_2 with the apply button?
i have a website with three UpdatePanel Control and inside of each UpdatePanels has ONE Gridview and a SqlDataSource Control.
all gridviews are connected to its own SqlDataSource Control. so technically when i run my website all gridviews automatically get their data from their respective SqlDataSource Control and display them accordingly.
but what i need to do is instead of letting all the update panels to load each gridview their data upon Onload event, i need the updatepanel to update on queue, (Technically changing the UpdateMode to Conditional does not solve my problem.) there will be an event which will trigger the updatepanel to update later.

Currently I m developing a web page which holds a grivview. As one of the column needs a multiple column dropdown with soring facility, I am using ajax:popupExtender to achive that. Basically in the column i have a Panel1(label & image which mocks up has a dropdown), ajax:popupExtender, Panel1(gridview to have mutiple column). When user clicks on it the ajax:popupExtender is called & the targetpopupid which is a panel2 with gridview is called.
Here when user clicks on thePanel1, I am able to display Panel2 using ajax:popupExtender. Also, when user selects some row, I am able to close/hide the ajax:popupExtender in the code behind using cancel(). (this is done in selectItemIndexchange of panel2 grid view).
But my problem comes when user doesn't select any row & clicks back on the panel1, the ajax:popupExtender will remain open. but it should have been closed as i am trying to mock up dropdown dunctionality. how can I hide/close ajax:popupExtender when user clicks on panel1 2nd time.
Following are the different approaches I tried but nothing worked out.
1. wrote JS, & tried to add attributes of the Panel1's onclick event.

View 2 RepliesI have a page that has a updatepanel around a gridview control that is within my modalpopup. So you land on the page, there is a link that when clicked will open the model popup. Initially the gridview merely displayed saved records you personally choseto save, well when you selected one, the popup would close and the data from that row would be passed to the gridview within the page to display details.. no issue when it was setup that way.. well eventually it was decided to add a delete option within themodal popup gridview so now when viewing the records you can delete it if not needed. works well.. but now with the updatepanel surrounding the gridview when i click on my "select" link it doesnt execute my
View 3 RepliesI am using UrlRewritting in my project. all functionality is working proper but I cant use the ASP.NET Ajax like updatePanel etc. the problem is ScriptResource.axd file is missing (404 Error). I used lot of ASP.net Ajax control before using UrlRewritting so I cant change the whole code.....

I have added TabContainer to webform. One of Tab container has 10 Tabs. Few of which I would like to hide based on user rights.
So added me.TabPanel1.visible = false me.tabPanel2.visible = True.
Works when added in Page load but Now my problem is if hiden panel is first tab. and then I update something on 3 tab.

I'm developing a web page with tabcontainer. I want to hide one tabpanel on the client side. So I don't want to se "TabContainer1.Tabs(0).Visible = False" as I want it to be a client side event. I tried following code in js

However, it doesn't work for the first time loading the page. I guess it only works when an ajax postback happens. Is there any way to hide this when I first load the page, and then if I click on button "show", it will show up without any ajax postback (backend coding)?
I'm working with CascadingDropDown Lists, like CAR > MODEL > ACESSORIES.
Everything have worked fine, but there are some CAR MODELS that don't have ACESSORIES, so I want to HIDE the DROPDOWN "ACESSORIES" if a MODEL that doesn't have ACESSORIES be selected. If the user select a MODEL that has ACESSORIES, so the DROPDOWN ACESSORIES appears.
I think that I might use something like "DIV STYLE:HIDDEN"...
