AJAX :: How To Call Same Event Of User Control On Multiple Aspx.cs Pages
Jul 23, 2010
I have one user control which has 2 gridview first grid has columns (GroupName, Description, chkRemove checkbox) another gridview has columns (GroupName, Description, chkAdd), apart from that i dont have any code on .cs file of usercontrol.
I want to call same user control on 4 aspx pages and datagrid binding, sorting, paging and search functionality i want to do on respective aspx.cs pages not on user control where i am calling this uercontrol because for every aspx page field name is same but when i am binding the data to the grid that logic is different.
For first aspx page i called my usercontrol like this and everything is working fine: -
i have many aspx pages in one folder (100 pages) and they will keep increasing. I have 1 vb.net file which has the code for these pages. Can i call that pageload event in vb.net file from all these pages?
currently im using this code, but its not reading the pageload event.
[code]....
vb.net page code -
Public Module NewOne Public Sub NewOne_Load(ByRef Page As Web.UI.Page) end sub end module
I have a simple user control(.ascx) with a asp label inside of it. Using the codebehind(C#) from a aspx page, how can I change the text of that label? I have tried using public classes in my user control and a few other things that I could think of off the top of my head. Can somebody give me a quick example of how this would be done?
In aspx page, I am using a user control which contains a button. I need to hide the button(which is in user control) when a checkbox(in aspx) is clikced. I have a postback for checkbox. I want to hide the button when the checkbox is checked. In which event I should do the hiding and unhiding?I cannot add extra property in user control. Is it possible to access the button using FindControl and disable it? Which event can be used for it?
I have a dropdownlist in a user control and i want to perform different functions on the basis of the host page that hosts this user control when the selected index of the dropdownlist changes e.g. when the host page is locations i want the event to load locations for the selected item in the dropdown, when the hosting page is services i want to load services for the selected item in the dropdown. What is the best possible way to achieve this scenario.
Can i bind and call the user control directly on click event of link button? instead of binding user control in another aspx page and then call it to the masterpage's link button click?
or else can i bind user control in a page lets say default.aspx and then call it in two different master page and show different functionality of it according to the masterpage its getting shown?
I have a need to improve the asthetics of the standard buttons .net churns out. I am fully aware of how to do this using css but I can only really style the button if I add a span element inside the button. Luckily the link button allows this so I have got the following which for usability i have put inside a user control.
I have exposed elements so that I can set values from within my aspx.cs page, these are text, command name, command argument, ccc class etc.
As it is a generic control, I have added OnCommand='Button_Click" which fires the event in the control itself. The Button_Click event calls a method ButtonControls passing associated command name and arguments across. ButtonControls uses the name to call the appropriate function.
As these are all very generic buttons, so far so good, but I have a need to trigger button events that may not be generic i.e on a control I have buttons that do something very specific to that control. I also have a requirement to call functions which relate to specific controls on the aspx page. I have created a user control which encapsulates the link button control.
I have a user control with two drop down, on selection change of first dropdown second dropdown should get populated. Now when I place this user control in a aspx file, I need to access the second dropdown value on change of send dropdown .
eg: in ascx file
Department drop down and employee dropdown. on change of department dropdown, employee dropdown should populate. (which is working fine for me)
in aspx.cs file
on change of employee dropdown, I need to get the employee id and so some other operation. (I am struggling here)
Is there any way where I can fire usercontrol event from aspx.cs file?
For an Umbraco project, I am trying to make a simple Ajax call.. I can't use PageMethods because I need to make the call from inside a UserControl.. I tried to do it via web service call like this:
Web service method:
[System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptService] public class MapService : System.Web.Services.WebService { [WebMethod]
[Code]...
The problem is, "MapService.GetCities" method doesn't get invoked..
What might be the problem here?
Alternatively, what is there any better way to make these kind of Ajax calls in a User Control?
i am making an internal social networking application for my small organisation where i work .i have a list of all employee names in a mssql 2000 database that are the names of 5000 employees of the company one by one arranged in rows in a single coloumn of a table . i have a folder ,i want to make .aspx files/pages in that folder ,the file name should be same as names of the person in database coloumn. automatically make the .aspx pages with the same names as it is in database coloumn.(note that folder will not take any duplicate values(name will not be repeated)) .i am making application using asp.net 2.0.file will be automatically created in the folder as soon as new name is entered in database.its very difficult to make 5000 aspx page with each employee name and it will be difficult to make new pages again and again after new employees names are entered.so i want that files will be automatically created after employee names are registered.
[URL] (goes to the it's local default.aspx page, not default.aspx of at the root) [URL](goes to the it's local default.aspx page, not default.aspx of at the root) [URL] (goes to the root's default.aspx page) I hope i could tell my question understandable.
I have 1 UserControl and 3 aspx pages.3 aspx pages are using this same UserControl.UserControl have button hen i clicked the button of usercontrol i want to save individual aspx form data. that should be dynamic
1. I need to load a user control on link click event of a link button during postback of aspx page.
2. On button click event of a save button on that aspx page, I need to read the selected values from that user control on further postback.
If I write the loadcontrol code in link_click event, the control is not recognized at all in the button_click event. When I shift it to page_init and execute only during not postback, the user control loads with default values.
I've got a web site that has a master page and that master page (mpMaster that has a user control ucControl1) which has a sub user control (ucControl2), this user control has a property which accepts a value. Now, I have a page that uses the master page and on this page I have another user control (ucPageControl), I need to find a way of setting the value in ucControl2 from ucPageControl. Is this possible at all?
I have 2 user controls that is hosted by 2 different aspx pages.
example:
srcpage.aspx --> hosts the --> sourceusercontrol.ascx and destpage.aspx --> hosts the --> destinationusercontrol.ascx
I would like the values in the text fields of the sourceusercontrol.ascx to be passed on to the labels in the destinationusercontrol.ascx.
I have gone through the MSDN ASP.Net examples and i was able to successfully pass values between two aspx page using the postback URL functionality, but cannot do the same thing with the usercontrols on 2 different aspx pages.
I have a system set up to lock certain content in a database table so only one user can edit that content at a time. Easy enough and that part is working fine. But now I'm at a road block of how to send a request to "unlock" the content. I have the stored procedure to unlock the content, but how/where would I call it when the user just closes their browser?
I have an aspx page with multiple modal popups. These modal popups are trigger in the page behind code using .Show() and .Hide().
This is what I have in the .aspx page for the particular modal popup under discussion:
[Code]....
The example below demonstrates the type of calls I am making to the modal popup extenders. Basically using the Datalist item command, the datalist commands are responsible for triggering my modal popups.
[Code]....
They all work fine after postbacks except the "activityReport" case (the last one). The only difference with this modal popup is that it contains a user control and all the postbacks are happening in the user control. So the problem is that in the last case whenever a postback happens in the user control then the modal popup is close.
1. If I separate the modal popup and place it in a page all by itself and trigger it to .Show() through a button click in the page behind code then the modal popup doesn't close. See below example.
[Code]....
2. The button click event in the test page looks as follow:
I've exempted the irrelevant bits of code. Essentially, I am trying to change the URL of an image control inside of an update panel inside of a custom user control from a function called inside an update panel from my main page. Using UpdatePanel.Update() isn't working: I end up waiting for the next full page POST to occur before all the updates I make to CustomControl from buttons within the main page's update panel are visible. I verified that Update() was being called via the debugger: there are no issues in that department.
Here, you can see Custom Control and the Button declared. The button is in an update panel to avoid giving a full POST and causing the whole page to reload.
This control stores images within their own seperate update panels because rerendering the images is very slow (it requires processing arrays of millions of datapoints) and the user only ever needs to modify one image at a time. I'm using Image1 as an example.
have two user controls on one aspx page. UC1 has a grid which contains a link button column which user clicks. Based on the value of clicked cell, I need to show some data into UC2.How do I pass data from UC1 to UC2? How do I invoke a function of UC2 from UC1?
I want to display a menu (which will be strongly typed with it's own unique model) across all pages only if a user is logged in.What menu items are available depend on the user's role and also I'll need to hit the repository to get numbers like "x Messages", etc
Been scratching my head for a simple solution here. Don't want to create something that need changes all over the place. All my controllers derive from a BaseController, all my Models from BaseViewModel....probably where I'll be implementing functionality for this.
I have a website which makes use of Custom Membership/Role Provider, Website used to work fine with my earlier server.
recently we changed our webserver which has IIS 6.0 on Windows server 2003, on this server my site doen't work, i have installed Framework 2.0 and Ajax Extension as well, but only html pages inside this project works but not aspx.
we also have other asp.net websites hosted on this server which runs without any problem but they don't make use of Membership/Role providers
to be precise i do not get any error message aspx jus goes blank, i tried all the options ASP.Net is allowed under Web Service Extensions.
I have developed an application in ASP.NET 3.5 which utilizes the Membership and Roles Providers and Forms Authentication to manage user access and profiles.
There are various area's of this application that are only to be used by an admin users whom login using their email and password and the rest of the users log in using their telephone number and password via their iPhone.
For simplicities sake, I would like to have two different login pages, one that is formatted for the iPhone and performs the correct validation for users adding a telephone number and the other for the application administrators.
I want to redirect the user to their respective login page based on which folder they are attempting to access. For example say I have an application structure like this
