AJAX :: Modal Popup Close After Postback Event In An Ascx File (user Control)?
Feb 15, 2011
I have an aspx page with multiple modal popups. These modal popups are trigger in the page behind code using .Show() and .Hide().
This is what I have in the .aspx page for the particular modal popup under discussion:
[Code]....
The example below demonstrates the type of calls I am making to the modal popup extenders. Basically using the Datalist item command, the datalist commands are responsible for triggering my modal popups.
[Code]....
They all work fine after postbacks except the "activityReport" case (the last one). The only difference with this modal popup is that it contains a user control and all the postbacks are happening in the user control. So the problem is that in the last case whenever a postback happens in the user control then the modal popup is close.
1. If I separate the modal popup and place it in a page all by itself and trigger it to .Show() through a button click in the page behind code then the modal popup doesn't close. See below example.
[Code]....
2. The button click event in the test page looks as follow:
I am using model popup to allow user to input there information . In this model popup . I am having two option Like OPtion-1 and Option-2 . When User will select Option-1 a panel should open on modelpop up to take Option-1 Detail .Simillarly When Option-2 is pressed another panel should open where User Can fill data. User Ca Fill only single option either OPtion-1 or 2 .
How I can do this without postback and without model disappear. I don't want to use radio or checkbox button .I want something good looking and with working function.
I am trying to get a modal popup inside a modal popup?, also i want to fire the modal popup on a condition in a text change event of a textbox?...is this possible and can anyone give me directon on this
I have an Ajax ModalPopupExtender on a page. To summarise. I have a link on a page, when I click the link the modal popup displays. On this modalpopup I've a textbox and an 'ok' and 'cancel' button. I wish to find out what was entered in the textbox when the button is clicked I try this but the value of ((TextBox)button1.Page.FindControl("theTitle")) is null.
if (((TextBox)button1.Page.FindControl("theTitle")).Text == "") void okButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { //if i try this tt does not compile//The name 'theTitle' does not exist in the current context//if(theTitle.Text == "")//{//} Button button1 = (Button)sender; //TextBox theTitle = ((ImageButton)(e.Item.FindControl("theTitle"))); if (((TextBox)button1.Page.FindControl("theTitle")).Text == "") { } else { } } catch (Exception) { } }
Modal Popup user control (its a message box) on top of a modal popup with javascript that maintains postback on a scrollable div all inside of an update panel causes my page to flash on postback of the user control. If any one of the peices (user control, modal popup, javascript) are missing everything works fine. The javascript is maintaing scrollback on a scrollable listview on the page. A modalpopup is shown on top of this main page that is for report parameters. The user control is used for validation and is displayed if a parameter is invalid. I know this may not be the best design, but it can't really change unless its a minor change. Heres the js if anyone wants to see popup or styles let me know.
//Begin methods to maintain or reset scroll position during postback. var controlIds = []; var scrollTops = []; //Register a control to maintain its scroll position on postbacks. function MaintainPostback(controlId) { controlIds.push(controlId); } //Find the div/control id in the controlIds array and set its scroll position to 0. function ResetControlScrollTop(controlId) { var index = 0; while (index < controlIds.length) { if (controlId == controlIds[index]) { scrollTops[index] = 0; return; } index++; } }............
When I click the button to open the modal popup it shows the popup but then continues and forces a postback causing the page to reload and the modal popup to be hidden again.Here is the markup for the control:
How can I close a Ajax Modal Pop-up through VB.net? All i want to do is just click the cancel button in the code behind, or if you can think of something better?
At the bottom I have couple of buttons that call a modal popup to add new user to a grid.Now when I click on add user button it opens a modal popup. In that modal popup I have a add user control. Aslo In that add user control I have some jquery validations, autocomplete etc.Now when I open my modal popup it loads my user control in modal but none of my javascript is fired. By fired I mean if i start typing in my autocomplete textbox or even validate some fields none of my js is fired. I do have the jquery file included at the top of my user control. This page works fine if i create a simple aspx page and call my user control from there. But somehow when I call it from modal it screws up. Also even if I place a simple alert('Hello') on my user control that also does not fires (just wanted to make sure jquery is not the prob)
As the title of this post already mentioned, I'm using a modal popup window to edit rows in the gridview. One column in the gridview contains an URL code. When I fire the edit button a popup opens and show the URL in a textbox in this format: [URL]
When I am using the Server.HTMLDecode function, the modal popup doesn't close anymore.
I am using the following code:
[Code]....
The funny thing is, when I change it to: txtURL.Text = row.Cells[3].Text; then I can close the modal popup, but unfortunately it is not decoded.
I am using normal popup using jquery and css and I have one textbox and one button I need to validate that textbox but the popup is closing how to hold that popup even even if postback occurs?
I have a create user wizard on my page and in the event handler (Created User) I get extra information from the user via textboxes within the aspx etc.
I then do a response.redirect to another page.
What I want to happen is this
When the CreatedUser Event is fired, I want a Modal Popup to show up with a message Processing your registration.
once the registration code is processed it will close and the users get redirected.
On my ASPX I have the Modal PopUp and a Panel.
In the code behind in the handler I put ModalPop.show()
I'm trying to create a modal popup that has multiple buttons that a user will click to choose options. This is all well and good but when the user clicks an option it fires a full postback. The modal opens async, but I can't get it to hide async. Heres some code:
I'm using modal popup extender and panel with calendar in it. Click the "Next / Previous Month" closes the modal popup. How do I tell the modal popup to ignore click events in a calendar control inside the panel targeted for popup? I'm confused because when using extender before, you had to click OkButton or Cancel to close popup. I have update panel for reason. I just minimized the code for easy review.
I am having issue with my ModalPopUpExtender's OKControlID. I have a button inside an update panel that should do AsyncPostBack. The button works fine and runs server side code but it causes full page postback. How do I solve this issue? I want the 'OK' button inside the modalpopup to call the serverside code and update Label control 'label3' without causing the page flash. Given below is my code;
MarkUp:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head id="Head1" runat="server"> <title>Next Gen Web Browser</title> <script src="http://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/jquery/jquery-1.3.2.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
When I browse to my page that has the modal popup panel on it, the panel initially is visable, and when I do a postback it acts as intended. let me know if you need the master page....
I try to create a asp.net 4 webpage, using masterpage.
On webpage I have a formview and inside the formview I have a ajax modalpopup. I have multiple buttons and textboxes on the modalpopup, and created a test event, but I still get the message that the textbox is not declared.
using the abovei have a master page used the above in conetnt page in update panelwhen when i click on btnYes the event is not firedi even trued using trigger in code behind & even in design mode but still its not workingi get a msg <asp: content> tag
I read so many post which say if i need to catch the button event on the modal popup extender, i need to use javascript. But when it comes to my requirement I get confused.
I open a data entry form which contains several textboxes, drop down lists, validator controls and 3 buttons (viz. SAVE, SAVE & CONTINUE and CANCEL) on the modal popup. The requirement is that :
1. When the SAVE button is clicked the data in the different controls must be inserted into the database and the modal Popup must disappear.
2. When SAVE & CONTINUE button is clicked the data in the controls must be inserted into the database and the modal popup must be ready for the other with clear controls.
3. When CANCEL button is clicked the modal popup must simply be disappear.
I am using a modal extender pop up with dimensions 400px by 400px and in the top right corner I want to put a image cross that when clicked will shut the modal pop up.
I know to make the cancel control to the buttom image but I have seen on some sites the image that seems to sit half in and half out the modal pop up extender DIV box which the effect I like more than an image internal to the DIV of the modal popup floated right corner.
So I have a button on form that is supposed to execute some code-behind on a click event. To this button I also connected a Modal Popup Extender, which once you click OK, it goes away. What doesn't happen (and it should) is btnSendContactForm_Click never gets called.
Using the OnOkScript didn't help me either. I have tried setting the OnOkScript property of the extender, by calling a javascript that simulates the button click on the send button, but that only re-calls the modal pop extender, and a never-ending loop results everytime you click OK.
