why does the MaskedEdit not allow you to enter a 0 as the only character to the left of the decimal separator when the InputDirection is set to RightToLeft? Entering a 0 simply does nothing, and when checking the behavior script I discovered that the script actually checks in the key press event if the characters is a 0 and then does not add it to to the content. The MaskedEdit is setup as follows:
I'm having issues with a MaskedEdit on a textbox. I am using the the ClearTextOnInvalid property to prevent my user from inserting invalid information but when it deletes the text in textbox it does not clear the Mask.So if the user decides not to put anything in the box, I believe my code is seeing the mask as an invalid string. Is there a way to clear the mask after someone clicks out of the textbox? The ClearMaskOnLostFocus property is not working from textbox to textbox, only when no object has focus.
how to programatically set via javascript the value for a textbox which has a maskededitextender tied to it? tried document.getElementById("textboxid").value but it didnt work.
I'm using AjaxToolkit and it works just fine. In one form i'm using the Time field (MaskedEdit). I need to validate Time field only if a tickbox is ticked. Is it possible?
I'm facing an issue with chrome. I have multiview in which user control is loaded. This user control has one maskedEditExtender textbox (telephone textbox in ___-___-____ format). Issue is whenever the control is loaded i cannot see the masked feild but as soon i refresh the page I see it. I tried the script above but it didnt worked.
I want to save the input mask used in the control, but ONLY if a valid value was entered. In this markup, the mask is properly displayed and stored even if the user doesn't enter anything. Since a zero-length string is a valid value, the entered value is being stored in the database as (___) ___-____ If there is no value entered, the value stored should be a zero length string.
I'm trying to use the TextBoxWatermarkExtender with MaskedEditExtender/Validator and have found a bug (I think).
In the textbox I enter an invalid date such as 55-55-5555 and exits the textbox. I would then expect the watermark to be shown, but it doesn't. Instead the prompchar is shown (like __-__-____).
If I simply give focus to the textbox and then another control, the watermark is shown.
Is there a workaround such as manually force the TextBoxWatermarkExtender to update.
I'm not the best with javascript, I tried to call focus() and blur() on the textbox in the textbox's onBlur event using window.setTimeout. This works in Firefox, but not IE8, also there has to be a better way I think :-)
I'm using Multiview control in my web page, and I'm using 3 view blocks inside the Multiview. In each view I have some text boxes with validation controls. In my 3rd view I have a submit button. If I press the submit button without enter any values in text boxes, it accept the empty value the Required validator control didn't work.
I use Only one Submit button for a all 3 views....
I've a gridview which I am rendering to a html text writer and allowing clients to download as an excel spreadsheet using Response.Write. I'm using AJAX in my website now and suddenly it stopped working. This is the code I'm using
public static void Convert(DataSet ds, HttpResponse response) { try { //1. declare filename to export string filename = "export"; //2. clear response object response.Clear(); response.Charset = ""; //3. set response mime type to excel response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel"; //4. prompt user to download the file response.AppendHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=" + filename + ".xls"); //5. create a string writer StringWriter stringWrite = new StringWriter(); //6. create html writer which uses the string writer HtmlTextWriter htmlWrite = new HtmlTextWriter(stringWrite); //7. instantiate a gridview GridView gv = new GridView(); //8. set gridview datasource to the dataset gv.DataSource = ds.Tables[0]; //9. bind gridview gv.DataBind(); //10. tell the gridview to render itself into htmltextwriter gv.RenderControl(htmlWrite); //11. output html response.Write(stringWrite.ToString()); //12. end response response.End(); } catch (Exception ex) { string str = ex.Message; } }
I've found that Response.Write doesn't work with AJAX. Are there any alternatives to this?
I'm having a problem with AutoComplete tool see demo here [URL]
When enter 123 for first time, it works. Then click somewhere to close the result, clear textbox enter same value, it does not work. I got a description "...Caching is turned on, so typing the same prefix multiple times results in only one call to the web service." I tried turning off cache, but still not work.
I need to enter amount in textbox. actually i will enter 12 in textbox then after that i will press tab button it will need to convert 12.00 not only that along that i need double(13,2) only in textbox. It never accept more that (13,2).
Note :1222222222222.00 or 1223333333333.22 like that i need i mean not exceed (13,2).I will accept less that that also like 12.22.
I have a page where the calendar imagebutton and extendar are the first button on the page. I notice that when I hit enter on any of the fields (textboxes) that the calendar will open. How can I prevent this?
I tried setting a default button for the form, which works, but it then causes another problem in that it fires my validators when I hit enter on a field that triggers a button other than the default button. For example, I have a lookup field with a button and if I hit enter on this field the validators will flash quickly because the default button is the submit button and it's trying to submit the form.
now the task is to show a popup window, much like the standard Windows login panel, to warn the user that caps lock is on. I've used a ValidatorCalloutExtender alongside other controls in my site, but can't figure out how to use the test for whether the capslock is on:
[Code]....
to then show a callout style display. I'd prefer it only pop up when the user enter's the asp:textbox control, but can't figure out if a callout is possible in this way.
I have a MaskedEditExtender set for a TextBox that will receive a fee amount. I want the user to be able to type the "." decimal when the amount contains a decimal value (123.45). But if the amount has not decimals (123) I want the mask to automatically fill the 2 decimal with zeroes and also enter the "." decimal point (123.00).With the following mask I'm able to enter a full number (999) and get the zeroes but when user enters 85.85 it will be 850.85 so I change the direction RightToLeft but I'm not even able to type the first character.
I have a text box with an auto-complete extender attached to it. This is in a panel. Now, I have set the default button of the panel to the submit button of the panel.
Now, I find that when the auto-complete options show up and I try to select an option using the enter key, the button is pressed (triggering a postback) due to it being the defaultbutton of the panel. I want to be able to select an aut-complete option using the enter key and yet not post back. Therefore, the enter key (when the text box is in focus) should not trigger a postback. How can I achieve this?
have code in my .Net web app which sets the Form DefaultButton (fires the Search button when enter key is hit). This works fine in IE and Chrome but not in Firefox. I discovered that the web form has the <ajx:HoverMenuExtender which deletes a note when clicked. The problem is this note delete fires when the user hits the keyboard enter key!
I have added a combobox to my page. Listview is updated based on selection from combobox. It is working great except it does not fire when Enter is pressed. User has to click on option from dropdown or has to press tab key to have Listview to populate. I want the user to be able type use arrow key to select option and then press the enter key for event to fire.
I'm using a ModalPopupExtender to display a login screen when an ImageButton (called Post) is clicked. The dialog pops up as expected and performs all the correct validations. When the user presses the Enter key, this causes the Login button to fire its Click event as it should. The issue I get is that I have another ImageButton on the main page. After the user presses Enter in the login and the page logs the user in, it does not fire the server click even for the initial post button that brought up the login, it fires the click of another ImageButton instead.
