AJAX :: Nested Accordion Menu With Submenu Using Sitemap
Mar 24, 2014
I got requirement to create a accordion menu which will have different menus for different site collection.
So, i created this Accordion which is in bind with site map file. But my Sitemap file has multi-level nodes, here my accordion is displaying only single level menus.
Builder ( Main UL , without href ) Create Builder ( Navigates to CrtBuilder.aspx) Remove Builder ( Navigates to RmvBuilder.aspx) Supplier (Main UL) Create Supplier ( Navigates to CrtSupplier.aspx ) Remove Supplier Navigates to RmvSupplier.aspx
Now if a user clicks on CreateBuilder Menu then the user must see the site map in my breadcrumb like this :
Home > Builder > Create Builder
same way for supplier :
Home > Supplier > Create Supplier
remember ( on clicking Home the page must navigates to abc.aspx)
I get the error page.I managed to add one sub menu(example) but there is no way that I can add more. Everything looks ok but for some reason dosent work. That's the whole map:
Can anyone tell me why the following nested Accordion control does not work?
[Code]....
The error I kept getting is this:
DataSource 'sql1980s' for control 'acd1980s' doesn't exist Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

I am creating a nested accordion in the code behind which is populated from my data table. The requirenment is
1. Main Accordin - create department Panes
2. sub accordin - Each department pane has a accordin in the contnet are.
3. sub accordin panes - people from that department show up as panes in sub accordin.
I was able to impelment this model but the problem is that the sub accordin ( with people) would not slide. First one is opened by default and i see hand on the other header panes but they dont slide (up and down). They do have a content though. P.S - if i implement the same nested according in aspx it works fine. My code
[Code]....
Update - I found that I get "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.ArgumentException: Value must not be null for Controls and Behaviors.Parameter name: element" javascript error when i try to create the nested accordin.
I am using asp.net2.0 , C#. I am binding menu control with sitemap to display menus and submenues. Which also restrict access and display of menu or submenu based on user's roles. I want to know Is it Possible to show/ Hide submenu based on sql tables with existing sitemap method
I have this so far but kind of stuck on how to do it programtically if I'm using header and content templates I have a xmldatasource..In a nutshell at what point in my code do I need to create a new accordion? does it need to be in the item_databound handler?
I'm posting in this forum because I suspect that my issue is to do with how the Toolkit is handling Overflow, coupled with a subtle difference in rendering between IE8 and Firefox.I have a two level menu created as follows:
[Code]....
In IE8, the menu behaves as expected. In Firefox the behaviour is also correct, except that whenever a menu option is clicked (level 1 or level 2), a horizontal scrollbar appears. Once it has appeared, it remains in place until the screen refreshes or, oddly, focus moves to a completely different window. That latter point makes me wonder whether Firefox does something "odd" when an element has focus. The CSS is as follows:
[Code]....
So, not a showstopper, but an annoyance that scrollbars keep appearing in Firefox.
I'm creating a user control to be placed within a masterpage on a site. Inside the user control, I have placed a menu. It is wired up to a sitemap datasource to get navigation with security trimming included. question: How do I use the Accordion toolkit control to collapse main portions of the menu? For example, if I have Orders and Supplies and subpages contained therein, how do I setup Accordion to traverse the sitemap based on the user's security privileges?
i want to implement an accordion control to the left navigation menu. The Main title on left menu called Activities is standard so i have hard coded it. The subtitles I want to pull from the database , from the stored procedure "Activity_Get". however i am not able to achieve this because I get an error "DataSource 'sds2 ' for control 'accActivities' doesn't exist". The following is the aspx code.
I have a override Render method on my AccordionMenu.ascx.cs, basically just replace the <span></span> tag with <div></div> due to w3c compliance requirement, this is the c# code:
[Code]....
but when i try to run it, the page always throws an exception to me like this: Extender control 'MyAccordion_AccordionExtender' is not a registered extender control. Extender controls must be registered using RegisterExtenderControl() before calling. this is the context of my pages: accordion menu is placed in the content page, and the content page is inherited from a master page, the master page has a script manager.
i have a Databound Accordionmenu with hyperlinks in its content template. What i wanna do is adding `onMouseOver` animation to these hyperlinks. Normally i would do somthing like :
[Code]....
where the playanim javascript function triggers the animation for the hyperlink. But the thing is, Hyperlinks in the content template are not visible in code, they simply dont exist. when i write the code, it says there is no item called hyperlink1, it doesn`t show up in the intellisense menu either. Is it possible to add an animation inside an Accordionmenu, if yes how can i reach the TargetControls inside the ContentTemplate to trigger the animation.
I am working on a website at the moment, I am using .NET 4 and VB. My site is contained within a Master Page and all working OK. I am using an ASP:MENU control which is driven by a web.sitemap file and works a treat. I have had an idea of something I would like to know but I am struggling to get it going correctly (not sure if it is even possible) What I am after doing is having the main categories of my website across the top horizonally (this part is no problem) and the sub menu items going vertically but down the left side of the page such as:
Logo Here Menu Head 1 Menu Head 2 Menu Head 3 Sub Menu Head 1 Sub Menu Head 2 Sub Menu Head 3
Does anyone have any idea if such a thing is possible or not?
I have for example a ASP Menu control having a static (File) and dynamic (Open, New) menu such as :
[code]....
I am able to see this menu under VS 2008 under my development PC. But when I deploy the app to a IIS server, and run the app, the whole app appeared the same. Only the Menu has "File" for selection but the submenu items (Open and New) did not appear when the mouse cursor was moved over "File". Only the Outline of the dropdown box of the submenu appeared.
i have a menu, what i want is that when i click on parent item of menu then only subitem should display, mean i dont want to display subitem on mouseover. what should i do.Is there any property should i set or i have to write code for it .
I have a problem with my visual studio 2008 for my ASP.NET application on one PC (HP with Windows XP). The Dynamic submenu items are not visible when mouse over a menu. The same application works fine on another PC. It worked fine on the same PC 4 months ago. In recent 4 months, my PC had some updates, like windows XP updates, Visual studio 2008 updates, flash update, adobe update, and iTunes update. After I noticed the problem, I had tried to uninstall the all updates except windows XP updates; and tried to uninstall Visual Studio 2008 completely; then re-install it again.
I am knew to CSS I never usually do it. I am creating a menu and I change the image of the button when the button is hovered over it. But when I go on the submenu the image reverts back to the original image. The code I have used is below.
I need to develop an easy and quickly to build menu structure based on xml. The menu needs to have a "Main" menu at top of the screen and a submenu at the left of the screen. Excactly like this: [URL] where i need to get started and wich control i should use?
