I have a long running PageMethod defined in the cs that is being called from javascript and after 4 minutes I am getting the below error and 504 status code for my aspx page and onFail callback is raised.

I have a master page/content page going on in this situation. The page has two page methods that work, and they feed info to a pair of autocomplete extenders. The script manager on the Master Page has 'EnablePageMethods' set to true. The content page has a ScriptManagerProxy. The strange thing is that I have used this pattern on four other pages within the project.

The fail function is executed, and the status code is 0 (zero), and the exception type is an empty string. I can change the function with no parameters, and I get same error. I can the leave the parameters at three on the VB side, and change the parameters to two on the client side; then I do not get the error message, but none the other alerts are executed.
I have a page that requires user login via Forms Authentication. Is it possible to use Page Methods in this page? My current attempt is resulting in the following error:Message: Sys.Net.WebServiceFailedException: The server method 'GetPlanContent' failed with the following error: System.InvalidOperationException-- Authentication failed.

But as soon as I place the code on the hosting server, Firebug shows me an:
500 Internal Server Error - [URL]
The cascading dropdown just shows "[Method error 500]"
REMEMBER: IT WORKS ON MY LOCAL SERVER!!!

I used Ajax script Manager in new version of my and when i ran on Visual Studio server it worked fine and never shows framework failed error but when i installed on IIS 7.0 Vista webserver and ran across it i got his error. Can Anyone helpme out in solving this issue?..Web.config file:

I just installed sql server 2005 to my pc and when i try to log in to the server instance i get an error log in failed for user xxx (error 18456).I browse to the server instance and i keep getting the same error even though i chose windows authentication option during the installation.
I restarted the service for the sql server instance (which is running).The only problem i can think about is a problem with permissions but again there should not be any problem there because i logged in as administrator
I'm calling PageMethod "SameMethod" from javascript method "caller" so that I can get some values from DB. After I get values, control is continuing in "onSuccess" method. Problem is that I need to use some variable values ("importantValue") from javascript method "caller" in "onSuccess" method.

Everything looks fine but I keep getting the error: 'Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value 'xxxx' to data type int... where xxxx is the the value of @Query.
I wrote a web service to send emails and some win apps supossed to call the service for sending emails. When I test the service via Visual studio development server everything is ok and it sends emails. But with IIS the smtpclient.send throw an exception whit this message : No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it [mailserver ip:port] The endpoint for VS development server is [URL] and for iis [URL] The smtp server is remote (gmail) and iis version is 6. I set the current local user as iis anonymous user. I am in LAN and my client firewall is off. There is an ISA server for the internet but I'm using a dialup connection for the internet. So why visual studio can send emails but iis can't?

This not working.. How can i make it work?
I have a long running process that i kick off with a pagemethod that normally takes about an hour to complete, when it is finished it returns the result of the method.I then poll with another pagemethod to update the status of the first process.the process is taking 4.5 hours this week which is acceptable and understandable, but the feedback sometimes gives up after a couple of hours and sometimes the main method never returns any feedback to the client.
Regardless of the lack of status updates and final feedback the server still completes the long task.As far as i'm aware we have made no changes to any timeout values.is there a timeout setting that we are hitting that is above 1 hour for ajax methods?

I'm using a custom AJAX based validation control to check user name availability from database. It's working alright in my development machine but in production server we are using Windows Authentication to authenticate by domain.The control is inherited from base validator and checks for user name availability from database perfectly but on form submission at Page.IsValid check it gives the following error.

Both the form and webmethod are in the same page/file. I even tried creating webmethod in a separate standalone webservice but error still there.
