AJAX :: Referencing Updated Script File Without Rebuilding AjaxControlToolkit Library
Feb 12, 2010
I have done some changes to the Common.js file of the AjaxControlToolkit. How can i reference this updated script. I don't want to rebuild the dll again and again for each changes made to the script file. Can i do this?
I am using Ajax on a Sharepoint 2007 website and I have copied in the AjaxControlToolkit.dll into the bin folder.

I have an ASP.NET AJAX application, which is using .NET Framework 3.5. I have visual Studio 2008 installed on my developer machine. The AjaxControlToolKit dlls I have installed in my system right now come from the file "AspNetAjaxLibraryBeta0911.zip". The released date of the dlls in the file is 12/29/2009. Exploring the AjaxControlToolKit download site, I found that there is a more updated version, which release date was April 12th 2010.
I tried to update the AjaxControlKit.dll version to the newest one. I did this creating a path in my system: c:Program FilesAjaxControlToolKitWebFormsRelease then I placed there the new AjaxControlToolKit.dll and AjaxControlToolKit.pdb files. Then I right clicked on the name of the dll inside my Bin directory in my application and selected "Update Reference". After I did this I tested the application and is giving me Jscript error messages like: "htmlfile: member not found", or Microsoft Jscript Runtime error "lenth is null or not an object". I don't get these error messages if I come back to the previous version of the AjaxControlToolKit.
For my project, i have decided to use AjaxControlToolkit's ModalPopup controls. I have obtains codes from this website: [URL] After following all the steps provided by Matt, I am getting some problems when i want to save my edited information. Scenario 1: Select the first item from the gridview, modify the details at the details view and click save, gridview updates and shows the edited information and it is stored into the database.
Scenario 2: Select the second item onwards from the gridview, modify the details at the details view and click save, screen remains at detailsview and edited information is not saved, click cancel button to return to gridview, data at the gridview was not updated. So basically, the update function works only for the first item from the gridview. The following is parts of my code:
<%-- Display list of Activities according to the Project--%> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UP_ActList" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:GridView ID="GV_ActList" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" DataSourceID="SqlDS_ActList" DataKeyNames="dbID" OnSelectedIndexChanged="GV_ActList_SelectedIndexChanged"> <RowStyle BackColor="#EFF3FB" /> <Columns> <asp:BoundField DataField="dbID" HeaderText="dbID" Visible="false" SortExpression="dbID" ReadOnly="true" InsertVisible="False" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="ActID" HeaderText="ActID" SortExpression="ActID" />

I'm trying to use the AsyncFileUpload control from the Asp.net Ajax Control Toolkit (Sept 30, 2009 stable build: 30930) . I've created a demo application and the control works fine. Files upload and all is well. When I try to use the control in my real application, I'm always receiving an error stating "The file attached is invalid". The AsyncFileUpload control returns this when the file uploaded is null.
To isolate the problem, I created a new master page exactly like the master page in my demo app. I also created an aspx page exactly like the page in my demo app. The upload still fails with a "The file attached is invalid" error. I also compared the web.config for the real app and the demo app and couldn't identify any differences that should matter. The code below is the test code in my real app. This code is exactly the same as the functioning code in the demo app with the exception of having different class names and file names. The web.config listed below is from the real app with the appsettings and connectionstrings removed. Real App Test Master Page:

I am using AjaxControlToolkit.dll 1.0.20229. For compiling my code in my DotnetNuke module. When I compile our code and upload it on Server Dotnetnuke application which is having latest 3.x version of AjaxControlToolkit.dll. I get following error. I am not compiling my code to a specific version of AjaxControlToolkit.dll.......................
I develop an ASP.NET 2.0 with VS 2008, VB.NET, and sometime a get this exception when web application is launching.

To solve this problem, I need to regenerate the project. I would like to understand why this error append sometime. I try to check the version referenced in project property, try to check the version attribute on Web.Config :
I have written a custom membership provider for my MVC 2 app, and it all works fine. I wanted to force people to log in as soon as they went to the site, so set the authorization section of the web config to deny annonymous users. As expected, when you try and access the site, it re-routes you straight to the LogOn.aspx page. The problem I'm having is that when it initially jumps to the LogOn page, it cannot find any of the files referenced in the html header section.
The strange thing is I set a path to a css file as follows:
../../Content/site.css yet in the page it shows up as ../Content/site.css
I even wrote a html helper that uses Url.Content on the paths passed in, but this still does not solve the problem. If I go to the LogOn page after the application has initially loaded, it references all the files correctly.
I have a utility project that has an "XML" folder with two XML files in it, this project is then referenced by an ASP.net web project. I was wondering do you have to set some sort of build option to place the folder in the BIN of the website, or is there another approach to referencing these two files from the web project?
I have a web site that is hosted by Network Solutions. The hosting package I have includes support for ASP. I can place a simple aspx page on my web site and point to it with my browser and it appears to execute. What I'd like to do is reference a text file (for parsing) that is in the same folder as the aspx file. I have no idea what the absolute path is to the folder. How can I reference the file for reading if I don't know the absolute path?
I have a table the uses the same dropdown list in each row. I thought that I could just create one dropdown list and then reuse it in each new row, but the table only ends up with one row unless I create "new" dropdownlist. Am I approaching this all wrong? In the interest of efficiency, is there a way to build the list once and then reuse it by creating another instance of it or something? I was trying to avoid rebuilding that list umpteen times.
private void UserRoles() { Table table = MakeTable(); Ewo.sqlDataStore.Administrator sql = new Ewo.sqlDataStore.Administrator(); DataSet dataset =sql.SiteUserRoleList(); DropDownList sel = RoleList(dataset.Tables[0]); if(tools.validDataSet(dataset)) { if (dataset.Tables.Count > 1)//existing roles are #2, show the roles the user is part of { foreach (DataRow dRow in dataset.Tables[1].Rows) { table.Rows.Add(CreateRoleRow(Convert.ToString(dRow["SitePageGroupName"]), sel));//add a row with data } } table.Rows.Add(CreateRoleRow(sel));//add a blank row on the bottom } AdminSiteUerRoles.Controls.Add(table);//add it all to the page }

I chose the option to create a new ASP.NET Web Application (C#) project using VWD 2010 EXPRESS. Normally I choose the create an empty web site option. Anyways, It seems that everytime I needed to make a change in code behind that I would have to click save, then debug>build for the changes to take effect. This was working fine for three days, now all of a sudden it has stopped working. It doesnt seem to rebuild when I click build...though the output message says it succeeded.
I have even removed entire codeblocks from the codbehind (one that populated a dropdown), yet the drop down is still populated when the page is previewed (I have cleared the browser cache as well!). Also, I have tried to set Label1.text to various values and that does show either, like its not in the code.Is there a bug in VWD, or is there a setting I could have clicked unknowingly? I am gettingsome strange errors as well. For example, I am getting object reference not set to an instance of an object errors and the line it points to is a totally empty line
How to I reference say a text box from my code back file? I am having issues with trying to execute an sql query from the click of a button and then place the result into that text box...
I have downloaded Asp.Net Extension 1.0 and extract it.
Each AjaxControlToolkit.dll is keep in folder (ar,es,de,fr ... ) .There is also one AjaxControlToolkit.dll which is not inside any folder.
My question is which AjaxControlToolkit.dll should be used? I need to have all the AjaxControlToolkit.dll inside my bin folder? or I pick it according to my country? What if my web site is multilingual?
Basically it's in the title. There's a bug in a VS2003 website that needs to be fixed but it is not letting us rebuild the entire project and the bug needs to be fixed immediately. Is it possible to only rebuild the dll that has the bug in it, transfer it to the server that's hosting the website and have it work?
I have a control that I use to populate a cascading menu with LinkButtons. All link buttons have the same OnClick event that I want to use to load content as well as change the clicked button's color to show the user which LinkButton they have selected.
My problem is that I don't know how to access any LinkButtons other than the one that is calling the OnClick event, so any colored button remains that color when other boxes are selected.
Is there any way I can reference all LinkButtons within a Panel to clear their colors so only the selected LinkButton is colored?
