I have created a class within the App_Code called shared_methods.vb where I use methods that are frequently used within several pages.
I have a hyperlink control within the masterpage that i want to change the NavigateUrl depedning on what page. Just for better coding i would like to define the variable holding the hyperlink with my shared_method.vb.
I have:
Dim hl_back As HyperLink = CType(Master.FindControl("hl_master_back"), HyperLink)
This works within a page but not within shared_methods.
I programmed a WebForm where I can add dinamic FileUpload elements and upload a variable number of files. So far no problem.
My problem begins when I try to automate this process in a class Uploader (external to this webform so it can be called from any other form or module). In my form's Page_Load() I instantiate this class and call the method uploader.layout(Me), which definition you can see next:
[Code]....
I get an error
El control 'FicheroUpload1' de tipo 'FileUpload' debe colocarse dentro de una etiqueta de formulario con runat=server. Which means something like The control 'FicheroUpload1' of type 'FileUpload' must be set inside a form label with runat=server.
Where is the error? Can I insert dinamic elements in a form from an external function, such as this class method?
I have build a UserControl with separate code behind file.In that code behind file i have defined some public properties in the Partial class of user control that was automatically generated. Those properties will initialize some properties of controls that are used in the control. Now, in .aspx page i used this User Control and initialized the public properties through code behind of aspx page for dynamic contents.
I'm writing out lots of checkbox controls dynamically based on a query result. In a subsequent sub, I need to check some of those boxes based on another query.
So, in my first sub I have this in my reader loop:
[Code]....
In my second sub, I get the IDs for those boxes that need to be checked.
How do I reference the dynamically generated checkboxes from here? Something like:
I have a referencing problem in my project. I have an ASP.NET application where pages are in multiple subfolders. All pages user controls are working fine.
I just want to reference a page class that is not in the root folder (in subfolder from the root folder) in my usercontrol code-behind file like this
if (Page is ar_default){ //}Where ar_default is my page class name as it is in folder name "ar"The user control is also in the same subfolder as the page being accessed.Wnen I use the same method with pages in the root folder, there is no problem at all and it is working although I notice that the classes still not appearing in the coding drop down menu but if I typed the name correctly it work.like so:if (Page is _default){ //}When using the same code with classes in subfolders it is giving this error:The type or namespace name 'ar_default' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)I'm not using any namespaces also.
I have created a user control which is inside a folder called Controls and the class is a partial class which inherits from Web.UI.UserControl. Now from my page which is one level up I just try to access the method inside the usercontrol and so trying to cast it as the type of user control. But I get build errors. It just cannot recognize that class. I get Type not defined error. But at times it has recognized the class. Dont know why it does that.

I have 2 pages, the first 1 has a button that opens another page. On this 2nd page the user selects a picture. When the user selects a picture the form closes. When they select a picture i want the image control on the first page to change.
I'm not sure how to do this, i guess i could set the image path as a session variable and reload the first page but again i'm faced with the problem of how to reference the first page from the 2nd
I want to use a dropdownlist control as paging options (50, 100, 150, 200) for a GridView control so I can reuse the user control on other pages that uses paging. The dropdownlist control will be in the user control page and the GridView will be on the host page. How do I reference the GridView control generically from the dropdownlist in the user control to set the PageSize property of the GridView control upon selecting one of the dropdownlist options. Any advice and if there are other means to accomplish such tasks to allow reusability.

I am using a CustomValidator to compare two textbox control values in the form view. These values are not required but must be compared if a valuue is entered. The same two controls are defined in both Edit Item Template and Insert Item Template. The formview default mode is Edit.
The javascipt for the custom validator works when in Edit mode. However, when the form view is Insert, the javascript throws an error of NullReferenceException. how I can adjust my code so that the client-side javascript works for both Edit and Insert mode?
The form view is in a content page. The script is in the Head content placeholder
<script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function cvSecondaryEmail_Validate(source, args) {
I have written a custom membership provider for my MVC 2 app, and it all works fine. I wanted to force people to log in as soon as they went to the site, so set the authorization section of the web config to deny annonymous users. As expected, when you try and access the site, it re-routes you straight to the LogOn.aspx page. The problem I'm having is that when it initially jumps to the LogOn page, it cannot find any of the files referenced in the html header section.
The strange thing is I set a path to a css file as follows:
../../Content/site.css yet in the page it shows up as ../Content/site.css
I even wrote a html helper that uses Url.Content on the paths passed in, but this still does not solve the problem. If I go to the LogOn page after the application has initially loaded, it references all the files correctly.
I have a utility project that has an "XML" folder with two XML files in it, this project is then referenced by an ASP.net web project. I was wondering do you have to set some sort of build option to place the folder in the BIN of the website, or is there another approach to referencing these two files from the web project?
I have a web site that is hosted by Network Solutions. The hosting package I have includes support for ASP. I can place a simple aspx page on my web site and point to it with my browser and it appears to execute. What I'd like to do is reference a text file (for parsing) that is in the same folder as the aspx file. I have no idea what the absolute path is to the folder. How can I reference the file for reading if I don't know the absolute path?
