I have, within the update panel, a report viewer control, a textbox for parameter input and a button to show the report in report viewer control . When i click on the show report button I got the following javascript error and didn't get report called:
Errors :
1. this_client_Controller is null or not a object
2. parent.document.getElementById(...). Client Controller is null or not a object
I am having one button , two date pickers and one report viewer , not all these controls are under update panel. Now when i click on button it is not generating a report. While if i remove update panel then it works.
View 1 RepliesI'm using a an Ifram that switches between several pages, each page contain a report viewer and takes time to load (about five seconds) since I'm using an Ifram the end user will not notice the loading of the page behind the seen (report pages) he will only notice a quick loading of the Ifram page ! so I tried to use the update panel and the update progress to show a waiting or loading progress image when the page loads or post back . but this doesn't work in Ajax since Ajax is not compatable with the report viewer .is there any way to show a progress waiting message during the page load using Javascript ?I Found many scripts like this that show a waiting message or image BUT the script starts after the page loads completely (a silly loop for 3 seconds maybe then hide the message )
View 1 RepliesI have 3 upload controls ,one listbox and two button controls in page. One button control named Attach has the code to add the files to listbox form 3rd file upload control and the 2nd button control named Save has the code to save the files of 1st and 2nd file upload controls in application folder and items of listbox to database.
The issue is couldn't maintain the state of 1st and 2nd file upload controls after browsing the files to file upload controls and clicking on Attach button control to add file name to listbox which was browsed by 3rd file upload control.So i placed the 3rd file upload control, Attach button and listbox in update panel but its not working. My requirement is when clicked on save button files of 1st and 2nd file upload controls in application folder and items of listbox to database, but 1st and 2nd file upload controls will loose the files as soon as Attach button is clicked to add filename of 3rd fileupload control to listbox.
In my WebForm I hv used an accordion and this accordion is in an UpdatePanel with UpdateMode="Conditional" .
In that accrdion , in last pane i hv a fileupload - when i select a file and click upload button then always the fileupload control has no file and it returns false everytime .
I have written trigger in UpdatePanel also still it doesn't work. Without updatepanel fileupload control works properly, this problem arise after i use UpdatePanel...

have a report that worked fine until we upgraded the SQL server from 2008 to 2008 R2 and the report viewer to latest version as well.This report has a pie display, NOW instead of showing one pie, it is showing 20 pies!I am trrying to learn how to resolve and what is causing this.

I have a form that has a table(TABLE1)...and inside TABLE1 i am linking to a sql data source....at the bottom of the table i have a 'Add' button.
When the user clicks the add button...a modal popup appears (POPUP1) and inside the POPUP1 the user can click a link that can add a user...when the link button is clicked...a panel within POPUP1 is set to visible = true.
I have one update panel around the whole table and the add button...when i click add and then click the link to add a user....the modal popup disappears.

I have an ASP.Net (.Net 2.0) application that creates Crystal Reports (version 11.5) and shows them with CrystalReportViewer control. For some reason the control isn't showing the logo image in the header of the report. It renders the following html

That's my C# code but i the "ReportViewer1.LocalReport.Render("PDF", null, out mimeType, out encoding, out filenameExtension, out streamids, out warnings);" came in error everytime i try to generate the report. Can you show me the way so i can view the pdf from the browser or save the pdf from the browser?

Report viewer from SQL reporting services in VS 2008 report control If I create a new report in VS 2008 they have a .rdlc extension and work correctly.
I have some reports that I was using in SQL reporting services. Extensions are .rdl and want to get them to work with VS 2008.
I copied the rdl files and the .rdl.data files over to VS 2008 (SP1) project but when I go to select the report in the control it does not see the file (I assume it is looking for a .rdlc file)
I tried rename the file to .rdlc and loaded the file up and got

I had some problems with Visual Web Developer Express 2008 recently, so I decided to reinstall it.Since then I have not been able to get ReportViewer to work again.When I try top open an rdlc file in the VWD environment, it opens in source view not design view. So I can not edit it, the way I normally would.I cannot add a new report. However the reports I have already created still work when I run the application.have tried unistalling and reinstalling everything, SQL Server Express 2008 (SP1), Visual Web Developer 2008 and Microsoft Reprt Viewer Redistributable 2008.I can not seem to get the environment back to how it was before.
View 4 RepliesI've a web project in VS2008. The problem is that from a web report viewer; report is not getting printed or exported to pdf. Report is being shown alright but when print button or export button is pressed, nothing happens. No errors or crash. Just nothing got happened. Default printer is set alright and I am able to print from that machine.. Am I missing some thing here? Earlier when I installed the application in a new virtual directory report was not getting shown then I've copied aspnet_Client folder in my newly created web application root and the report was then made visible. However the print and export functionality is not working.

The application works fine however when producing Crystal Reports, the web Crystal Report viewer renders only the FIRST page and none of the toolbar buttons function (ie: next page, zoom, export, search ...) The Group-tree and Prameters views will toggle, but nothing else seems to work on the web Crystal Reports Viewer (neither on my local nor on the server). The group tree shows all of the appropriate groupings collapsed - however when clicked to expand, I get an animated gif at the expand icon (+) but nothing else happens...

View 4 RepliesI am fixing issues in a project where I was not able to figure out a solution for the below problem. There are multiple user controls in Main.aspx page. First one is header.ascx which is added directly in .aspx page. and the others are added dynamically from Page_Init event. Basing on the hyperlink clicked from the menu on the left side of the main page, the respective user control is displayed.
Now, If I try to add script-manager/update panel inside any of the dynamic user controls, the respective user control page throws error. I have noticed that the header.ascx control is using scriptmanager. Is it creating the problem? How to handle this kind of issue?

I want to just refresh the iframe on button click without whole page postback.so i have used update panel for removing postback and easily refresh iframe .I works in IE, but not working in firefox.
I want to create a searching work to fill the gridview detail acc to seach params.. When we enter text into search textbox it fills the grid, that works filne without postback. After this i have to fill the form values accroding to link clicked in Gridview. I uses the updatapanel in grid like

When the grid fills it doesnt fill my form... why it happens.. i used the Updatapanels multiple as well.. If i use the Updatepanel in whole.. it may flicker while filling in the form values.
I have a button that updates a datagrid that is in an update panel and everything works swimmingly in the dev area but when i publish it it just doesnt work.
