AJAX :: Server Code Executing Twice With Control Toolkit
Jan 24, 2011
I am using following server side code to save the data from ASP.NET Control toolkit Editor to the database It follows with the HTML Code The problem is that, data is saved successfully. But it is saved twice. Main problem is this server side event is fired twice. How can i prevent it from firing twice?
Server side code
Imports System.Data.SqlClient
Partial Class Administrator_Calendar
Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
Protected Sub BtnAdd_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles BtnAdd.Click
Try
Dim dbobj As New db
Dim i As Integer = 0
Dim rdr As SqlDataReader = dbobj.selectQuery("select max(srno) from calendar")
If rdr.HasRows = True Then
rdr.Read()
i = rdr.Item(0)
End If
rdr.Close()
dbobj.insertQuery("insert into calendar values (" & i + 1 & " , '" & Me.Txt_dt.Text & "' , '" & Me.Editor1.Content & "')")
dbobj = Nothing
Catch ex As Exception
End Try
End Sub
End Class

I am making a class library. I want to use some of ajax control but don't know how to use ajax source code. suppose i want to use file upload control in my class library. How should i accomplish this task. I mean to say how should i refer ajax file upload sript file(.js) in my class library.
I am Getting the following error using the Numeric UpDown Control from Ajax Control Toolkit. Assembly 'AjaxControlToolkit, Version=3.0.30512.20315, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=28f01b0e84b6d53e' contains a Web resource with name 'AjaxControlToolkit.NumericUpDown.NumericUpDownBehavior.debug.js', but does not contain an embedded resource with name 'AjaxControlToolkit.NumericUpDown.NumericUpDownBehavior.debug.js'.
I have created an application in Microsoft Visual studio 2005. And I have used Ajax control tool kit version 3.031106.0. It works fine in my local system. When I hosted this on the server,I am getting this following error.
"Could not load file or assembly 'AjaxControlToolkit, Version=1.0.10606.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=28f01b0e84b6d53e' or one of its dependencies"
I just installed Ajax Toolkit. The controls are available in my Toolbox, but when I insert them in a page, Visual Studio underlines them with the error message "unknown server tag".
I googled the problem and found several ideas :
check if the DLL is in Bin folder check if ajaxToolKit tags prefix is registered in web.config and make sure I'm not using a different prefix in my pages check if the DLL is registered in the pages with <% @ Register ... %>
Unfortunately all of this is fine, but I still can't get the controls to work. Is something else missing ?
EDIT : My environment is ASP.Net 2.0, Ajax Extensions 1.0, Ajax Toolkit 1.0.20229, Visual Studio 2005
I work with a charline (ajax control toolkit) and I want to manipulate from code behind but I do not really know how! I have an example but the data are in the aspx code.
<ajaxToolkit:LineChart ID="LineChart1" runat="server" ChartWidth="450" ChartHeight="300" ChartType="Basic" ChartTitle="United States versus European Widget Production" CategoriesAxis="2007,2008,2009,2010,2011,2012" ChartTitleColor="#0E426C" CategoryAxisLineColor="#D08AD9"
Here is what I need to do: I need to execute some server side code after a user clicks on a button, THEN I need to execute some client side code. OnClientClick gets invoked BEFORE the onClick; and what I need is the opposite.
Is there a way to do this? It looks like I will have to execute JS code from the server code.
On click of "ValidateUser" button, I do check whether user is valid or not. Based on some condition I do need hide "AuthenticateUser" div tag and show "ForceToChangePassword" div tag. I really like the jQuery fadeIn/fadeOut effect. I can easily do that on client side. But how can I give that effect after executing server side code?
I tried to call javascript method from code behind that method has a fadeIn/fadeOut logic but it seems like that javaScript method is never been called.
In a button click, I need to be able to hide my ModalPanel and then continue running other code server-side. I currently have it this way:
[Code]....
It hides the panel at the of the event handler because that's when the page posts back. So what can I do to hide the panel and then continue running the rest of the server-side code?
Basically what I'm trying to do is the following:
1. Button_display in my webform simply displays my UpdatePanel via ModalPopupExtender.
2. Button_closePanel_Click will hide my UpdatePanel and then run some server-side code, which would display my UpdateProgress control.
Was trying to reference this the other day, and I've heard them called several things.They are intrinsically hard to google for. Does this syntax have a proper name?
I have a user control with a dozen radion buttons in it.Every pair of radio buttons execute a Sub on server side.All of the radio buttons have the autopostback set to true.There is a public Sub of the usercontrol that gets called only once by the page and loads the data setting the radio buttons to checked or not checked.The problem is, that once a radio button is set, it will execute it's server side code on every postback even if the postback is caused by another control on the usercontrol or even another control on the page. So if all the radiobutton pairs are set and a postback is caused, there will be six server side Sub executing! Casting the sender in each of those Subs gives back the radiobutton that is checked at that point, so it's if on every postback the event is fired for each checked radiobutton.
If i've the button outside an update panel (basically i'm using RadAjaxPanel by Telerik) it is working fine. But when the button is inside an ajax panel, even if i click OK for deleting the records the server side code is not called.
I've been dealing with an AJAX issue for some time now and I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. When I'm debugging and stepping thru my code it will jump into disassembly looking for a toolkit file. If I fit f5 I can continue debugging, but this happens often.
The latest one is: Address: AjaxControlToolkit.ExtenderControlBase.ExtenderControlBase() --- c:UsersswaltherprojectsaspNetAjaxReleases30930AjaxControlToolkitSourceAjaxControlToolkitExtenderBaseExtenderControlBase.cs I setup the toolkit by adding a reference to AjaxControlToolkit.dll There's a line at the beginning of the markup...and everything appears to work outside of the debug issue. [Code]....
Recently, I downloaded the source code (not Binaries) of latest AJAX toolkit and introduced some changes in Calendar extender. Now, I would like to build the DLL out of it so that I can add it to my project and use it. Now, when I am trying to build DLL, it fails. It never compiles for me. Infact, I am not sure which project/application file exactly do I need to run.
Every-time, I try to open any Solution/Project, I get exceptions either for some missing files or folders. I have both VS 2005 Pro and VS 2008 Express Edition installed. I need the libraries to be compatible with Framework 3.5.
I am using quite a few AJAX toolkit extenders e.g. RoudnedCorners extender, Watermark extender, etc. in my webpage. The problem is that these extendersadd a lot of script code to my webpage causing performance issue. Also, the presence of these extenders works against search engine as the actual content gets pushed down the page, thereby being risked skipped by search engines.
Is there any way where I can move these AJAX control extenders and/or their generated scripts to a different file ?
I have created an asp .net ajax control, meaning i have a javascript object linked to this control. In that object as usual i have 2 crucial methods: initialize and dispose.
[Code]....
In internet explorer dispose method is invoked every time user leaves the page, even when closing the browser. But not in chrome, its invoked by refreshing the page but not by closing the tab or window. Do you know how to achieve this?
I have this so far but kind of stuck on how to do it programtically if I'm using header and content templates I have a xmldatasource..In a nutshell at what point in my code do I need to create a new accordion? does it need to be in the item_databound handler?
The Ajax control toolkit tab panel automatically inserts a space by all four corners of the body. For example, go to http://www.asp.net/ajax/ajaxcontroltoolkit/Samples/Tabs/Tabs.aspx and look at the TabPanel on the page. The is a space before "Signature:" and "Bio:" labels. How can I set the space-width to 0px; in the tabPanel body?
When I click the button to open the modal popup it shows the popup but then continues and forces a postback causing the page to reload and the modal popup to be hidden again.Here is the markup for the control:
I'm trying to use the Calendar control in a local intranet enviroment, so I need to put all the Javascript files locally, I've downloaded the Ajax Control Toolkit 40412 source code and extracted the Scripts from
"..AjaxControlToolkit_9c860ac12ae9SampleWebSitesAjaxClientWebSiteScripts",so I write the following code
