AJAX :: Using ModalPopupExtender With User Control?
Jan 15, 2010
I have a simple question but I could not find the answer after hours of searching on the internet. How do I refer OkControlID and CancelControlID that is inside of my user control? For example, my user control is and input form with OK and Cancel buttons. How do I refer to it in the ModalPopupExtender? Here's my code:
I want to show a modal popup when the record is inserted successfully, and i want to show this message on multiple pages, So i thought of creating a 'Web-user control'.But i am not sure, how to use this control with Modalpop up( How should i give Ok control ID , Cancel control id)
and my Modal popup code is:
Error Is :
Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: element
I have a modalpopupextender inside a custom user control and when the user clicks on a imagebutton in the custom user control, this modalpopup has to be displayed to the user for inputs. The problem that I am facing is that nothhing is getting displyed even after clicking the image button.
i am using master pages and this custom user control is being added dynamically to one of the child pages. I have added the scriptmanager as a part of the child page rather than as a part of the user control because there are multiple custom user controls present in this page.
Lemme go to the code:
This is the snippet present in the custom user control:
Iam facing a problem in ModalPopupExtender, i have made a usercontrol to show a popup frame and made popheader for dragging the header. but iam unable to find the panel id for PopupDragHandleControlID. can anyone tell me how to do. user control
m using the Ajax Control Toolkit's ModalPopupExtender. It works great but when I add a user control to the panel it is set to display, the modal popup is displayed with a black box over it.This is how it looks like:Is anyone familiar with the problem? Is there a workaround?
I am using ASP.NET MVC 1.0 and have a MvcContrib Grid. I have Edit and Detlete buttons to grid and the deletes the row in the grid and Edit takes you to a new page to update and once user clicks on update button the user will be routed back to the grid with the updated data (So its common functionality as of here)My Question I want to Open a ModalPopupExtender when the user clicks on EDIT on the grid and popupate with the corresponding data.
I am developing a web portal under ASP.Net 4 and using Ajax and masterpage. I created a user control to select a data from a gridview and put it in a textbox, for that use the ModalPopupExtender control. Everything works fine as can be seen in this photo:
But after much control to use the ModalPopupExtender starts to appear behind the form and to return to appear before touching refresh the page or press the button repeatedly calling him. In the next picture you can see what it looks behind the popup form:
when I was trying to set this ModalPopUpExtender i was using a btn1 as the targetCOntrolID. btn1 is no longer used and i want to remove it from the page, but dont know what to do about the TargetControlID.
ASP Code [Code]....
VB Code Behind [Code]....
There is a gridview on the page and when the user clicks the link button it calls the popup..
[Code].... How can I remove btn1 and the ModalPopUpExtender still work ?
For my error messages I'm using a ModalPopupExtender with a red background to show the user has done something wrong. If for example the user types in a bad username/password combination, it does a postback and after that it shows me the ModalPopup.
But I want to use the UpdatePanel control of course to make it more smooth, nicer and application alike.
When I put the ModalPopupExtender and Panel (both are on my masterpage) in an UpdatePanel like this:
I need to integrate bucks buttons modalpopuextender ajax controls, anyone know where i can locate this information , there are four, the former is entering the second search, the third change and remove the four, each with a modalpopup and when there will deve block is the parent page,
ctually the problem is that i have a login control in modalpopup. It works fine on entering correct user name and password. but the problem is that if the user name or password is wrong then it disappears. What i want at this point is that it should redirect to my custom error page on entering wrong credentials. have spend one complete week to solve this issue but is unable to solve it.
I am trying to show CalendarExtender on ModalPopupExtender but when I click on textbox to which CalendarExtender control is attached..... it is getting displayed behind ModalPopupExtender. Upon doing some research with firebug I find out that asp.net assigns a very high z-index value (100004) to div (asp.net interprets ModalPopupExtender into a div) so that it always comes on top. When I am clicking inside the textbox to display calendar control......ASP.net AJAX is creating the calendar control dynamically and it is getting created outside of the div of modalpopup and that too with a value low value of z-index i.e. 1000, I think that is why it is coming below modalpopup.
I tried on both IE6 and IE8 also but it is not coming correctly.
How do i post html markup? instead of it showing as the controls that dont show on MY PAGE! I took the code directly from the sample website, i am not useing a master page so made a few changes. I cant figure what i missed i am guessing something to do with the commonpage that the page inherits from in the sample site or the fact that it had a masterpage and i didnt clean it up enough
I am having a problem getting the ajax calendar control to display correctly when it is being called from a detailsview's edit item template within a modal popup extender. It does display but the graphics are missing i.e. it only displays the numbers. Has anyone had this problem in this scenario.
I would really appreciate if someone can find out what's wrong with this code.
Here is my question. I have textboxes in a modal popup extender (City, state, zip) and there is an image button search for searching the address from the database. All this functionality is within a control (.ascx file). This control is added to the page where it needs to be displayed and is being displayed when a user click the Address button (the code for it is not shown here). The method ShowAddressSearch() in the control is being called from the page and it displays the popup.
When the user enters any of the 3 values and hits search a server event is fired up and the result should be displayed in a grid. What is happening is, when the user hits the search button the server call is made and the data fetched from the db but the modal popup closes itself here is the code for this. I would really appreciate if someone can find out where and how popup is getting closed.
I have downloaded ASPAJAXExtSetup.msi and installed it. Now when I open VS2005 and create a new Ajax Enabled web site, i can't see any control like maskeditor, ModalPopupExtender etc. in toolbox. Neither typing <Ajax: works in aspx page.
I need to select my field data using a 3 step drownlist process (shown in the following screenshot):
But I can't find a way to get the Model SelectedValue and SelectedItem when Select is clicked. After it's selected it has to be filled in the Autofield on the background, and when close is pressed the original value has to be reloaded.
I have a modal popup extender with one control (ascx) this control has a label that on onclic method call other popup extender.
In the other hand, If a use de second popup inside an asp page the event and control work correctly. The problem is with the popup inside popup.
I've created a multiple uploadfile user control - upload_multiple_files.ascx:
which has an update panel ID = up_upload_multiple_files this user control will be placed inside a modalpopupextender. My question is when I click in any button AddFile, RemvFile, Upload there's a postback so the page is reloaded and the modalpopupextender disapears Is there a way to to troubleshoot this?
This is my first post here so i appologize if i posted in wrong forum or have asked question that has been allready answered (i did tried to search similar topics but still no luck).I have major headache regarding user controls and user control methods. My problem is simple to explain :
I have user control that displays comments, and next to every comment there are 2 options : to "hide" or "delete" specific comment. The problem is that i dont have any idea how can i call method within user control.
METHOD WITHIN THE CODEFILE: <System.Web.Services.WebMethod(BufferResponse:=True)> Public Shared Function RemoveComment(ByVal intID As Integer) As String ' code to remove comment from the database End Function[code]...
So basically, i dont want to access page methods - i just want to access control's methods from within the control itself using ajax, is there way to do this ? I would appretiate any help, including links to the tutorials or basics regarding my problem.
