when I was trying to set this ModalPopUpExtender i was using a btn1 as the targetCOntrolID. btn1 is no longer used and i want to remove it from the page, but dont know what to do about the TargetControlID.

There is a gridview on the page and when the user clicks the link button it calls the popup..

How can I remove btn1 and the ModalPopUpExtender still work ?
After submitting a form, the user is presented with a link to a pdf document. The link is straight to the document, it is not streamed.
If the user right-clicks and chooses 'save link as,' the document saves and opens fine. However, if the user just clicks on the link, the browser takes a very long time to respond (I'm going to guess it's 3 minutes) and then adobe reader gives the following error:
"the file is damaged and could not be repaired"
This is in Chrome v5, ASP.NET 3.5 and the link is returned inside an UpdatePanel.
i have added the following link at one of my view:-
<%: Html.ActionLink("Like","")%>
but i watn when the user clicks on the Like link to update a count field at the books table by 1, so how i can implement this type of links uisng LINQ?
Essentially, this is what I have:I have a view form for an object in MVC. On this form, I have a hyperlink. Every time that the user clicks the hyperlink, I would like an integer value inside of the object to increase by one, in addition to redirecting the user to a different page.Is there a way to do this and keep track of how many times the link is clicked?
View 3 RepliesCould anyone provide guidance about the common technique of sending an email to the new user -> new user clicks the link in the email -> and then the account becomes activated and ready for use?
Currently using the CreateUserWizard control in .NET v4 and a Membership db in SQL Server 2008. If I need to do this via custom code and not the CreateUserWizard that's fine. Would be nice to see expert thoughts on this common, enterprise quality, new account validation technique.
The link below outlines a technique for sending a confirmation email but does not include activation:[URL]
I've been searching in all the forums, and websites for the last 4 hours without finding a solution for a problem that in the beginning I tought it was an easy one!!!This is my problem, I have a gridview with the following colums: select (link), Room Type (for hotels), and TotalThe total field Is a template field it has in the custom binding property a function: find_total(Eval("Room")) this function makes some calculation and returns the calculated Total value, and shows in the gridview without problems,The thing I cant do is: when the user clicks on the select link I want to get the text of the template field and put in a label control.
I tried, almost all the events of the datagrid, to reference the content of my template field but sometimes I receive a null value (seems that Im looking for the value before the find_total function has been executed) or I get an error "the index is out of range".I dont know how to approach this, I tought It has to be much easier, but Im very confused right now, if anybody knows how to do this
I'm using a ASP.NET Web Form to capture information from a user and then email the results to me. This is working well.
The problem is, that the SMTP Relay Server I am using from my ISP seems to be a bit slow so once I hit SEND on the form, it seems to take a little longer than average before sending the user through to the "Thank-You" page.
To counter-act the long wait time, I would like to add a little bit of code that will display on the Web Form once the user clicks the send button, but before the data is actually sent or they are forwarded on to the thank-you page.
Right now in my file.aspx.vb I have:
Try
smtpClient.Send(mailMessage)
Response.Redirect("thankyou.aspx")
Catch smtpExc As System.Net.Mail.SmtpException
'Log error information on which email failed.
Catch ex As Exception
'Log general errors
End Try
What I'm wondering is if it is possible to have a HIDDEN control of some type on the form and then change Visible=False to Visible=True to have the text display once the user clicks the Send button? Or should this be done another way?
I want to display a confirm/ save message to user when he clicks the this works great. But instead of "are you sure you want to move" type option, I want to give the user the option to save changes now. So I want to call a sub in code behind which saves changes. This sub is currently fired by a seperate "Update" button. So
either call the sub or fire a button click event.
Protected Sub gvMyGrid_RowCreated(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRowEventArgs) Handles gvMyGrid.RowCreated
If e.Row.RowType = DataControlRowType.Pager Then
Dim pager As Table = TryCast(TryCast(e.Row.Controls(0), TableCell).Controls(0), Table)

I want to disable a button when ever user clicks on that. My button present inside the Updatepanel control AJAXI tried with the OnClientClick="javascript:$get(btnUpdate).disabled=true;" button is disabling but that is not calling btnUpdate_Click() server side logic. View 3 RepliesUpdateProgress has a div which shows "Loading...". Works fine on development server.
On client server, when the UpdatePanel fires, it shows "Loading...", but then seems to "freeze". IE status bar shows "(1 item remaining)"
If the user clicks anywhere in the screen, or types a letter, or otherwise gives some input, THEN the "Loading..." clears, and the new text of the screen shows up.
This only happens on IE8. FF works fine.
I have modal popup extender with two buttons called continue and cancel within it.I get this popup warning when session is going to expire.When I click cancel button it should logout me and when I click continue button it should extend my session for next 20 minutes. I've been prototyping the use of the ModalPopUpExtender but find that the BackgroundcssClass fills the entire screen even though I have defined the width and height. So when I click on link button the popup fills the entire window and the X/Y positioning has no effect. Other than that the content displays fine. Any thoughts on this issue?

I have 2 panels and one modalPopUpExtender-
<
asp:Button
runat="server"
i m showing modalpopupextender explicitly based on my requirement.
protected
void
OkButton_Click(object[code]...
but sometimes it is working and sometimes it is not working means it is not displaying modalpopupextender.
My requirement when user selects a particular mail and clicks the menu item it will display the particular mail details (To, cc, bcc, subject, Body, attachments...) in custom form.
View 1 RepliesAs far as I can see, the following code should make an AsyncFileUpload display in ModalPopupExtender. The MPE shows fine but the AsyncFileUpload doesn't load inside it. I also tried removing the update panel and putting the divs both inside and outside of the update panel, all with the same (lack of) results. And the AsyncFileUpload displays and works outside of the MPE.

I'm using asp.net and c# to build a web application. I'm trying to display a popup message using the ModalPopup extender. The message displays fine only if it sets in client side or in server side but inside Page_Load. Otherwise, it displays as empty. the popup comes up without the message.
The thing is that i want to change the meesages when i call its show() method.
client side:
<asp:Panel ID="pnlMsg" runat="server" CssClass="modalPopup">
<asp:Label ID="lblModalMsg" runat="server" ></asp:Label>
<asp:Button ID="btnOk" runat="server" Text="OK" />
</asp:Panel>
<asp:ModalPopupExtender ID="ModalPopupExtender1" runat="server" TargetControlID="hidForModel"
[Code].....
I have a simple question but I could not find the answer after hours of searching on the internet.How do I refer OkControlID and CancelControlID that is inside of my user control?For example, my user control is and input form with OK and Cancel buttons. How do I refer to it in the ModalPopupExtender?Here's my code:
<asp:Button ID="ShowPopup" runat="server" Text="Button"/><uc1:MyControl ID="MyControl1" runat="server" /><cc1:ModalPopupExtender ID="ModalPopupExtender1" runat="server" TargetControlID="ShowPopup" PopupControlID="MyControl1" OkControlID="MyControl1.OK" CancelControlID="MyControl1.Cancel" BackgroundCssClass="modalBackground"/>
I have made OK and Cancel public property inside my user control which return the corresponding button, but ti still does not work.
On one of my pages I've got a popup window implemented using the ModalPopupExtender. The content html of the popup is retrieved from a webservice dynamically (using DynamicServicePath, DynamicServiceMethod properties of the extender). Everything works fine, however there is a minor problem: web service call takes about 2 seconds and the popup panel is blank during this time, which confuses the users. I would like to display 'Loading...' message in the popup window (or an animated image, does not really matter) during the webservice call. Is there a way to do it?

I have a modalpopupextender inside a custom user control and when the user clicks on a imagebutton in the custom user control, this modalpopup has to be displayed to the user for inputs. The problem that I am facing is that nothhing is getting displyed even after clicking the image button.
i am using master pages and this custom user control is being added dynamically to one of the child pages. I have added the scriptmanager as a part of the child page rather than as a part of the user control because there are multiple custom user controls present in this page.
Lemme go to the code:
This is the snippet present in the custom user control:
