I've created a multiple uploadfile user control - upload_multiple_files.ascx:
[Code]....
which has an update panel ID = up_upload_multiple_files this user control will be placed inside a modalpopupextender. My question is when I click in any button AddFile, RemvFile, Upload there's a postback so the page is reloaded and the modalpopupextender disapears Is there a way to to troubleshoot this?
I have a user control with linkbuttons (used for paging) and a repeater inside an update panel. The paging works correctly, but is causing a full page postback every time I click through to the next page.
The update panel looks like this:
[code]....
So far, I have tried adding an async postback trigger for the user control, which does cause an async postback but does not update the rest of the text in the update panel. In otherwords, the async postback occurs and the next page shows up, but the original text in the repeater is there as well just below it.
I have also confirmed that I have IDS set on my linkbuttons, since that can trigger a full postback inside an update panel.
I have tried changing the update panel mode (Always, Conditional, ChildrenAsTriggers, etc.).
None of it makes a difference - the only thing that actually causes an async postback is to use the trigger, but then the rest of the content in the update panel is not updated, so I get duplicate content.
I work with ModalPopupExtender (ajax control toolkit) asp.net
that is to say that a popup appears which contain one panel with 2 DropDownList (DropDownList1, DropDownList2)price starting from DropDownList1 the DropDownList filled due to the code behind.
My problem is that when I click on the DropDownList1 ModalPopupExtender that contain the Panel is gone because of AutoPostBack = "True" of DropDownList1.
1. I need to load a user control on link click event of a link button during postback of aspx page.
2. On button click event of a save button on that aspx page, I need to read the selected values from that user control on further postback.
If I write the loadcontrol code in link_click event, the control is not recognized at all in the button_click event. When I shift it to page_init and execute only during not postback, the user control loads with default values.
I have a gridview inside a ModalPopUpExtender, the grid view have the button add delete and edit when i clic one of the button of the gridview the popup is closed. I wont to close the popup when the close button is clicked. This is the asp.net part:
when I was trying to set this ModalPopUpExtender i was using a btn1 as the targetCOntrolID. btn1 is no longer used and i want to remove it from the page, but dont know what to do about the TargetControlID.
ASP Code [Code]....
VB Code Behind [Code]....
There is a gridview on the page and when the user clicks the link button it calls the popup..
[Code].... How can I remove btn1 and the ModalPopUpExtender still work ?
i have a page for registration there is a button when it clicked shows panel contain gridview to selcect a value from it/my proplem :
i want to prevent user to click any control in page except those on the showen panel until the user selects a value from the gridview.all the control should be enabled.an example for what exactly i want to do is when you create a post here in this forum and you click (select Tags) button it shows a list.and the rest of page turns to dark color ,how ?
so how to disable the controls and and enable them?i am using C#
I am using asp.net membership and the login control. I would like to prevent a user from logging in with the same use rname if they are already logged in. I would like to place code in the LoggingIn or Authenticate event of the login control to check whether the user is login and prevent them from logging in again. Any ideas on the best way to do this?
I have a ObjectDataSource and a ListView referencing it.
I have created a Templated User Control (see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/36574bf6.aspx) and placed it in the ListView's InsertItemTemplate It has one template <ContentTemplate>. Inside that template, I've defined a couple of server controls with their properties = '<%# Bind("colName") #>'.
I have a simple question but I could not find the answer after hours of searching on the internet. How do I refer OkControlID and CancelControlID that is inside of my user control? For example, my user control is and input form with OK and Cancel buttons. How do I refer to it in the ModalPopupExtender? Here's my code:
All I would like to be able to do is include one user control within another! Is this possible? I have spent the last hour searching the internet and it seems that I can't find a single thing.
In classic ASP it would be something like: <!--#include file="EditProject.ascx"-->
I tried this but no luck!
Parser Error Message:
There can be only one 'control' directive.

m using the Ajax Control Toolkit's ModalPopupExtender. It works great but when I add a user control to the panel it is set to display, the modal popup is displayed with a black box over it.This is how it looks like:Is anyone familiar with the problem? Is there a workaround?
I have a modalpopupextender inside a custom user control and when the user clicks on a imagebutton in the custom user control, this modalpopup has to be displayed to the user for inputs. The problem that I am facing is that nothhing is getting displyed even after clicking the image button.
i am using master pages and this custom user control is being added dynamically to one of the child pages. I have added the scriptmanager as a part of the child page rather than as a part of the user control because there are multiple custom user controls present in this page.
Lemme go to the code:
This is the snippet present in the custom user control:
I have a modal popup extender with one control (ascx) this control has a label that on onclic method call other popup extender.
It's has other ascx, it's has a button for a search. When I do Click in this button in first time, the event click not fired and there are a javascript error that say "this._activeDRagVisual is null reference".
In the other hand, If a use de second popup inside an asp page the event and control work correctly. The problem is with the popup inside popup.
I have an ASP.NET 4.0 application with some simple user controls. The user controls work fine on the design surface (VS.NET 2010), but when they're loaded during application execution, nothing shows up.
Futhermore, the various child controls of the user controls are null when referenced inside the code behind for the user control.
The code behind for the user control executes as expected, but any reference to child controls are null.
It's like ASP.NET is never parsing the ASCX to create the instances of the child controls.
When the user click on TreeNew button appears the modal dialog, then he/she choose an option an click Ok button to do a postback.I need that the server side execute TreeNew_Click method: How can I do that?
If I use __doPostBack('TreeNew', '') it throws me the following error: "Object expected".
UPDATE:I found the origin for the error: the function __doPostBack is not defined. I'm not going to delete the question because I think Chris Clark's answer is so interesting.
Iam facing a problem in ModalPopupExtender, i have made a usercontrol to show a popup frame and made popheader for dragging the header. but iam unable to find the panel id for PopupDragHandleControlID. can anyone tell me how to do. user control
I think my title says it all. I have a modal dialog showing up and the user can make some changes and then click a 'Save' button. I need that to totally post back the whole page. I just assumed the button would fire off regardless of the jQuery.
I have an update panel which is inside a Modal Popup Extender. When I click the Refresh Report button it always calls a postback. I need to stop it from posting back.
I have a web user control that represents a simple message box. It is used to display simple messages like "Item has been deleted", or "The item was saved successfully".
On the other hand, I have another web user control that represents the item in the form of an editable form (I made this a user control because this is used in two different pages). I want to embed an instance of the message box user control inside the editable form. I am writing this right after the @Control directive:
[Code]....
Instead of using @Register directives, I register the user controls in web.config and so far this has worked just fine.
With the above markup, the project compiles, but whenever I try to navigate to a page that contains this construct, I get an HttpParseException exception. Furthermore, Visual Studio states that the tack w7rc9:MessageBox doesn't represent a known control.
When an asynchronous postback happened inside update panel, another postback happens also for MasterPagenot only update panel embedded page .I want to prevent this MasterPage postback . is this possible ?think like i have a MasterPage and another page which is test.aspx which is content page of MasterPagei have update panel at test.aspxwhen asynchronous postback happens at this test.aspx update panel it also loads MasterPage Page_Loadi want to prevent this (it should not also load MasterPage Page_Load)
