AJAX :: Adding The 'multiple' Attribute To The Final Dropdown List And It Allows The Selection Of Multiple Items?

I am using the cascading dropdownlist controls from the Ajax toolkit. I have everything working perfectly and all of my select changes work. I have 3 related select boxes that all work great for single item select. What I need is for my last dropdownlist to allow for the selection of multiple items. I have tried adding the 'multiple' attribute to the final dropdown list and it allows the selection of multiple items but I cannot get the items when I post back, just a single item.
I am running into some additional difficulties with dropdown lists, and I'm hoping you can correct my thinking.
I have a table populated with items; ITEM_ID, ITEM_NAME, ITEM_COST.

With this code I get this error: DataBinding: 'ITEM' does not contain a property with the name '2'.
If I remove the assignment of DataSource to c1, the dropdown generates this error: 'DropDownList3' has a SelectedValue which is invalid because it does not exist in the list of items.

How should I code this so that the user is presented with a list of ITEM_NAMES, and that the ITEM_ID is stored in the value field so I can use it when the selection event is fired? I know I could databind the source directly to the dropdown list, but I am trying to understand the behind the scenes working of a dropdown list object.
I have a list box that I want to allow the users to select up to 4 items from. I set the selection property to multiple, but for the life of me it won't allow multiple selection. If I pre-select 4 items, they show up as all selected when the page loads, but as soon as I select another, it clears all of them and then only allows one at a time. if I check the source code for the page, the property is set to multiple (see below).

i have an asp.net application, i want to incorporate init the functionality of having the user select from a dropdown list a name, select multiple files (images), upload those images to a physical path on a server, save the image paths to a database on the said server.
If the user fails to select a name from the dropdown list then the user would receive an alert message stating that a name must be selected.
In addition once the files have been successfully saved to the server's physical location, then and only then should the path be uploaded to a table in the database.
I have two Listboxes side by side. First Listbox lists all employee. I have a button to move selected employee from Listbox 1 to Listbox 2. If i select multiple employee from ListBox 1 and click on a button to move to selected employee to ListBox 2, then only alternate selection is moved.

is there a way to cancel the current selection for a cascadingdropdown list ? For example, user changes selection, I present user with option to cancel selection and if he chooses to cancel, then the old value should be reverted.
I have a listbox control data bound to a data source and I want to be able to get the value of each selected item so that I can use that information to form an insert query for another table. In other words be able to select a few items out of the returned list and get the selected value of each. I tried using a for each statement but came up with some strange numbers.
I've done a thousand searches today and am at a total dead end. I am creating a mailing list where users can add their Email address, and Admin can delete addresses and send Email. I am using streamreader to edit the text file and was hoping that I could simply send specify the Bcc recipients by either referencing the list items or the content of the text file. I cannot get it to work either way, nor can I actually get the form to send an Email to multiple addresses by manually editing the code. I tried commas, colons, triangular brackets... the best I can get is the last Email address included being sent the Email, all addresses before do not receive an Email?!?
I know you can create multiple instances of Email.Bcc.Add and include every Email address uniquely, but I have no idea how I'd go about adding anything that creates a new string for every Email address in the text file. Also - I plan on using the standard 'to' field as the site's own Email address - part confirmation that the Email has sent.
I have a webpage used to document work performed on a job. There can be as many as 6 employees for every line of work documented and I have placed 6 ddl's which are all populated with the same list of employees along with 6 text boxes for the hours. I loop through each ddl in the code behind to add the work performed to the server but I'm thinking there must be a better way to do this. I'll add the code for the first two ddl's so you can get an idea of what I need to do.
I need to populate a dropdown list with users who match certain role criteria. For example, if I have the following roles: Manager, Employee, Supervisor I would like to populate the list with only the Manager and Employee roles. Some individuals have multiple roles and they should be excluded if they also have the Supervisor role as illustrated below:
Name: A , Role(s): Manager, Employee, Supervisor
Name: B, Role(s): Employee
Name: C, Role(s): Manager, Employee
The final list should only contain names B & C.
I can use Roles.GetUsersInRole("Employee") but I am not sure if this is efficient or not.
I have a requirement to allow users select multiple "Agencies" and populate the "Types" based on that selection. Cascading Drop down would have been a great fit if there is no mutliple selection involved. I am wondering if I could use a popup dropdown with chekcboxes. However, these checkboxes need to be populated dynamically by a web service. I am not very familiar with AJAX toolkit and what control would work best in this case.
DropdownList 1 : It is the parent dropdown for dropdownlist 2. Dropdownlist 2 is filtered as soon as any value is selected from dropdownlist 1.
DropownList 2: It contains numeric data which is filtered on the basis of dropdownlist 1 selection.
DropdownList 3: It contains the units for the numeric data displayed in dropdownlist 2. If the user selects some unit in dropdownlist 3, the data in dropdownlist 2 should be filtered accordingly.
let me know whether it is possible to have 2 parents controlling the data in a single cascading dropdown?
