AJAX :: Drag Editor In To Web Form And Run It Controls Not Working?
May 15, 2010
I am kinda new to asp.net and ajax components. I have standard ajax web form with script manager in it. when i drag ajax editor in to web form and run it.. it works fine but when i try to use accordion or tab control they just dont work. accordion is visible in the web page but it doesn't swap between panes when i click on them. tab control doesnt show up at all.i downloaded ajax control toolkit example and ran it. and accordion works fine in it. but when i create ajax page and try to run it it doesnt work.. what am i doing wrong.. please help me with this issue.
I installed the AJAX Toolkit (for .NET4) onto a new Toolbox tab in Visual Studio 2010. However, when I try to drag any of these controls onto my Web form in design mode, they won't stick. My mouse pointer changes to 'disabled' (a circle with a diagonal line thru the middle) as soon as it hovers anywhere over my target form. Is there some additional action I need to take to make VS "recognize" these AJAX Toolkit controls?
After the implementation of ajax drag and drop, we have observed that which is working fine in IE and Firefox and not in chrome and safari, In Google chrome and Safari when we try to drag a module, the page getting scrolling to the top of the page.
I need to do a web page that will display images in one area, and allow them to be dragged to groups to categorize them, I guess I could add the needed number of panels for the groups but don't know about the dragging and dropping.
I have referenced AjaxControltoolkit and after that I have added it to my toolbox of .NET framework. But when I am trying to drag and drop "SlideShowExtender" to my web page, its not dragging there.
it goes back to the orignial position on dragging if i use the style property , it does move but not as desired even with the click it movesdown nt able to deag and place as where needed.
I am using AjaxContrToolKit (AjaxControlToolkit.Compat.DragDrop.DragDropScripts.js) in my application to provide the drag and drop facility . After implementing the same in the application , observed that working fine in IE and Firefox browser . But the same is not working in Safari and WebKit (Chrome and Safari) browser . In these browsers(both Safari and Webkit), while clicking on the top of the panel getting scrolled up .
Really the title explains it. When i have an HTML Editor (from the AJAX Control Toolkit) inside an UpdatePanel, i get the error message: "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Invalid set operation on read-only property"
I was looking online and it appears it's because the editor uses javascript - is there any workaround for this?
I use VS 2008TS SP1 on .NET 3.5SP1... when i treid to drag and drop controls to the form, it wouldnt add any here a small video on youube.com explaining my situation:
im working on drag drop rows from one grid view to another, its working fine until page size is 1,when records exceeds from 5(as my page size in grid view is 5) 2 pages are display in grid view,,now when i drag row from other grid view to this gridview ,row s dropped in this gridview but beside  this it also drop on pages (1,2)display on this (destination)grid view..
I have an Editor control on my page and the user can go in use it hit save and that all works.
In another part of the page I have a simple dropdown to select a note and view it. When you push view it loads the text which was entered in via the editor control.
If the user used an order or unordered list. The text shows up but not the list part.
So if they did this:
Example ThisAnd this
What is displaying is
Example This And This
Without the bullets. Same for the numbers.
I have it going to a literal control which should render the html, but it doesn't.
I am trying to create a UI that shows a list of pending work on the left side, and a similar list of planned work on the right side. I would like the user to be able to both reorder items within each list - this works fine with reorderlist; But to be able to move an item from one list to the other - this I can't make work with reorderlist. Is this possible and can anyone give some pointers on how to achieve it ?

I cannot get the Drag and Drop functionality of Web Parts is to work. I have a very simple test page with two WebPartZones. . In the OnInit method of the code behind I put the page in design mode. In the first zone I have a textbox. At runtime the text box renders as a web part. When I hover over the web part header my mouse pointer changes the 'move' pointer, but I cannot drag the item. I do not see it dragging and the part never moved. am using Visual Studio 2010 with IE 8. I have tried IE8 in compatibility mode and regular mode. The results are the same. Here is the markup from my test page:
