AJAX :: Try To Open My Webservice In IE Browser Using Following Link To See The Javascript Proxy, It Return Blank Page?
Apr 11, 2010
I created a very simple webService using the VS2008 template. i am planning to use Ajax call for the webService.when i try to open my webservice in IE browser using following link to see the Javascript proxy, it return blank page.[URL]
I have designed menu using <ul> and <li> tags and handled onserverclick event, where redirection code is written. This code works fine for normal click. But when I right click on the link and select "Open link in new tab", it opens blank page. So how can I handle this scenario.
I know i've seen a tutorial for this, but can't locate it anymore. I have a class Employee in c# side, I also have a webservice where I pass in an ID# and an Employee object is returned. Now I want this object returned to Javascript code, I know I've seen it done before, can someone point me to a tutorial that shows something like this being done. I'm using the MicrosoftAjax.js file.
I'm calling a web service called GetTooltip from inside Javascript. However, since the web service is called asynchronously, it doesn't wait until I get the return value from the web service, before it continues again. This is a bit of a problem for me, since the web service is in a for-loop. How do I make the Javascript wait until I hear back from the web service, before letting Javascript continue the for-loop?
I am trying to open a file share link from the window.open ... but its adding the http://localhost/vdir/ before the path can any one say what is the problem?
I am sending mail using .net c# code. In that mail i am providing link of customer website. When anyone click on link (in outlook mail) then it will open new window if already not opened any window. Suppose user already working in IE browser [URL] and then user click on link using outlook mail then link open in new tab in already opened IE browser window. So i want that everytime open new browser window when click on link.
I am trying to create a dynamic table that is being built based on the value of a search text box. The Table will have probably 6 columns of 20(max) rows.
My problem is I can't figure out how to return the data from the web-service to the JS function in a way that will allow me to extract the data that I need.
I know this is probably a pretty normal pattern, but, I've never had to code it up. I'm using a GridView to display various items from a SQL query. I can do this without any problems. Upon selecting a specific item, I want to open a new page based on the selected row item link that passes some parameters to a SQLDataSource in the newly spawned window. I know I can use the javascript window.open function() to create a new window, but, I don't know how to pass the desired code to this new window.
I have created master page in my application using site map and have some web forms. When I click a link from site map I would like to open in blank page like popup window. How can I do that ?
any page that I open in my browser comes up blank.
I don't get any errors, it just comes up blank.
I also noticed that it seems to bypass forms authentication. For example, even though the page I open is blank, it is the actual page name that shows up in the browzer instead of the page that it usually redirects to for the forms authentication.
When I run this code as non secure with HTTP, everything works just like it should. The report opens.
Is there any difference using those two different URLs with default.aspx and without it, because in development it behaves the same way, but under HTTPS one page doesn't exist and another is blank?! Is HTTPS the reason for that?
When ever user tries to open an application other than mozilla(fire fox) or IE browser , we need to alert the user telling him please open the application in IE or Firebox browser. And the browser which he has opened the application should stop and we should not close the browser in which he has opened Ex : like other browser ( google crome, opera )
So first I need to check which browser are they running the application based on that I need to send an alert message.
I'm trying to execute a linkButton inside a updatePanel, but was giving the follow error:
"Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received form the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(). "
I have an application asp.net with framework 3.5sp1. I had used DBML to access all my stored procedure and EDMX to access to all my web services. on the development machine all is ok I have no problem, but when I deploy the application on the production server (WS 2003) and I try to execute my web servcie (myapp.svc) I get an error message "cannot open this page, view the server log".
the IIS is correctly configured, the security I used Anonymous with an authentificated user (not IUSR_server) I give him full control to my virtual directory.
permission is ok for aspnet...
I tried to execute some pages that use only DBML and it works fine.
Is that possible to get the proxy settigns right across several browsers, such as IE, firefox or safari from Asp.net? According to someone it is impossible because ASP.NET runs on the server, and therefore has very limited access to the client's settings.
But having said that, HttpBrowserCapabilities is able to retrieve plenty of information from a client machine, so i thought there is must a way to also retrieve the proxy settings on client's browser/s.
Is there a way to get the precise client's operating system, coz the HttpBrowserCapabilities.Platform property doesn't give me the precise client's operating system.
In an article I have read "A web browser can be named as proxy server. As safari, chrome, mozilla".But proxy server is like a an intermediatary btween the clent and server know?
In parent page there is an imagebutton. What I want to when user click this image button, another page will open with width=200 and height=100 with no toolbar.
how to open a popup window and return values to the parent page
i.e passing value fom popup window to parent form.
(The child window contain textbox with a button. Once the value entered in the textbox the value entered should be updated in parent window from child window)
I am planning to use a Javascript call to a WebService to retrieve data from the database. At the moment I am using Ajax to do this. But since the Ajax is slowing down the performance of my application. I have read in some article that even though Ajax only refreshes the Update panel contents, Ajax does a full round trip to the server. What I need to know is how can I populate a Grid from data coming from a WebService via a Javascript call.
