I want to create an ajax panel (correct terminology?) in my webpage that updates just part of the page instead of updating the whole page.Can I do this while using ASP.net and Visual Basic.net? I do not use C#.If this is possible using VB.net, can someone point me to a few documents that will help me get started?
On a 1 to 10 scale, I would rate my technical knowledge at only about 5 or 6.

I want to do something like netflix, where when you hover over something like a hyperlink (netflix, is an image) a panel displays, when the mouse moves off of the control, the panel hides itself.Any suggestions on how to do this and with which control? The AnimationExtender will display the panel, but won't close the panel as I am limited to one Animation.

Here what I want to give delete facility to the user upon the selection of checkbox corresponding to the particular record. But when I click the button it doesnot triger the button click event of the remove button.

but i need to store the value in database and while page_load() i need to render the control as per the Co-ordinate values from the database .
From the above solution everything is fine except that i need to do it with code behind(from server side).

I know everyone has heard this a million times, but I need help with the back button and the AJAX update panel.I essentially have a form, that has 5 fields:Vehicle Make (In update panel #1) Model (In update panel #1) Trim (In update panel #1) Ownership Status Zip Vehicle model gets populated depending on what you put in make, same with trim. Now once the user hits next, I do a response.redirect. When I hit the back button, the possible values, and the current index is wiped for Vehicle Make, Model, Trim. I cannot
figure out a way around this.I have read about that history management feature, but seems uselesss since I need to somehow update the make, model, and trim possible values. Isn't there any way for me to get these values in the viewstate before I post the page?
I have a panel bar..each time I press panel bar item I display ascx control with in update panel..but it lakes update panel loading time lot..how I can decrease that loading time?

I am having trouble wiht my AJAX collapsible Panel Extender. I have the CPE opening a panel that contains the Table of Contents of a document being displayed on the page. A user clicks on the link for a certain part of the document, the event triggers a C# function that gets the file that particular section is contained in an displays the section. Right now you have to, of course, click on the TitlePanel to open and to close the CPE. What I want to do is have it close automatically whenever a link inside the content panel has been clicked. I have tried placing this.cpeTOC.Collapsed=true; in the functiion that gets the files but it does not work. I have also tried the autocollapse property of the CPE and it just collapses whenever someone moves thier mouse from the titlepanel.
View 1 RepliesI am using Ajax Control ToolKit's Accordian Control with 5 Accordian Panel. Contents of Accordian Panel are UserControl. Currently I have added all in the design mode, But it making my page slow because it loads all the content at a time. So, I want this to be dynamic. When User Click on Header of Accordian Panel, It loads the user control dynamically and also asynchronously.
I tried to put the user control under UpdatePanel which I placed under Accordian Content Panel but this is not working. Also I want to display loading images if getting slow response from server. how can I achieve it. It will be better if you provide an example.
I have an AJAX TabContainer. Each tab I have a ValidationSummary control with different ValidationGroup name for each tab. The problem is, now nothing show sup in the ValidationGroup when q required field is blank. The web form won't get submit but there is nothing displaying on the page either. All the RequiredFieldValidator are not showing in the web form either. All the RequiredFieldValidator controls are set to use the correct ValidationGroup too.

I have a form that has a table(TABLE1)...and inside TABLE1 i am linking to a sql data source....at the bottom of the table i have a 'Add' button.
When the user clicks the add button...a modal popup appears (POPUP1) and inside the POPUP1 the user can click a link that can add a user...when the link button is clicked...a panel within POPUP1 is set to visible = true.
I have one update panel around the whole table and the add button...when i click add and then click the link to add a user....the modal popup disappears.

I use Asp Required validator and ajax validator callout to make a cool error message.
I put that form into box which have scrollbar. (Not IE Scrollbar)
Running the application then try to scroll the form with that scrollbar.
Then pressing the button to trigger the validator required.
Finally the message is displayed but the message is not in correct position. It is above suppose to be.
I have a grid/table that is pretty big in width. The AutoCompleteExtender is outside the right side of the page and the user needs to scroll to view it. When you scroll over and start using it, the drop down list with the values are displayed back to the left in the original viewable portion of the page.

View 5 RepliesI have an UpdatePanel and inside that I have an Accordion and several panes. From the first pane i can push three ImageButtons. Each imagebutton will load a control into a Placeholder in another Pan - still in the same accordion though.
The problem accur when I push the buttons. After two or three push the buttons will stop responding and nothing gets loaded into the Placeholder.

I have added TabContainer to webform. One of Tab container has 10 Tabs. Few of which I would like to hide based on user rights.
So added me.TabPanel1.visible = false me.tabPanel2.visible = True.
Works when added in Page load but Now my problem is if hiden panel is first tab. and then I update something on 3 tab.
then Tab2 fields are supimposed on tab 3 Fields.
I am using ASP.NET3.5. I have used MaskedEditExtender for currency purpose. when iam insering data into table it is accepting correct figures. while reading the same figures from database,I am displaying the figured in another textbox. (for second textbox i have used MaskedEditExtender) but it is displaying in that text box wrongly. suppose x=100 am reading this value from database and displaying x value in edit mode.but it is displaying 1.00. means it is taking last 2 digits as decimal points. how can I show in correct format?
View 5 RepliesI have a 'shop' page, where all the items in the shop is listed. I have a sortingfunction, to decide how many results pr. page I want to see. I also have a pager. The pager is built with two buttons (a Previous- and Next-pagebutton), and a textbox which shows the pagenumber. The pager is on both the top, and bottom of the page. When I change the text in the textbox, the following code fires:

This causes a pageload, where I get the number from the textbox, and parse it to an integer, which I can use to dynamically create an SQL request. This works just perfectly. Here's my problem. When I click the "Next" button or "Previous" button, the text in the textbox changes, but when I get the number from the textbox, I get the value of the textbox as it was BEFORE the button was clicked. How do I obtain the correct pagenumber? Here's my Click-code:
