Jun 16, 2010I am having trouble with the postbacks that are fired within my updatepanel by the linkbuttons. Here is the structure of my page: UpdatePanelMultiViewView1/View1View2RepeaterLinkButtons being generated here /Repeater/View2/MultiView/UpdatePanel. Here is my link button code

Whenever I click on any of the LinkButtons that are generated, it does a Postback in the UpdatePanel. But the OnClick function is not being called. It just does the void Page_Load() function. That's it. The controls in my other views work fine, but I'm having trouble with these controls. I think it has to do with them being generated by the Repeater.

Feb 26, 2010I'm in a little bit of a bind and have some weird behavior happening with a multiview control behaving differently between two machines, and of course, the production machine is the broken one. The page renders the correct content on both machines, but if I save the html file the production machine's source is wrong.
For example, if for step 1 the output should be just the letter A, and step 2 the output should be just the letter B, and step 3 the output should be the letter C, here is what happens:
Step 1:
Production - The source and output are both the letter A
Dev - the source and output are both the letter A
Step 2:
Production - the source is the letter A and the ouput on the browser is the letter B
Dev - the source and output on the browser are both the letter B
Step 3:
Production - the source is the letter A and the ouput on the browser is the letter C
Dev - the source and output on the browser are both the letter C
Is this some issue with SessionState? I'm very new to Multiviews and by no means an ASP expert.

Nov 22, 2010I am using C# Multiview on a log-in/forgot user name page and I would like to avoid new windows each time I change view id inside the Multiview.Right now the page uses "window.showModalDialog" and I would like to remove the js from the page.This lead me to the PopupControlExtender. How do I use the PopupControlExtender and Multiview in combination? e.g. a radiobuttom provides the desired view index and only this view is shown in the pop-up?Did I misunderstand the purpose of the extender?

May 4, 2010I have a web page with several databound (via their property's) user controls in a multiview in a formview.
I decided to try Ajax (Adding ScriptManager, updatepanel etc).
All works fine except for the user controls.
The controls I use to contain the usercontrol property values ((invisible) Textboxes or Hidden fields) lose their value when i change from ond multiview panel to another. (In other words: usercontrols on invisible multiview panels lose their property value's). (When I change a multiviewpanel all the property fields turn emty, when i hit the update button of the formview afterwards the emty values are propagated to the database. (resulting in loss of data)) Textbox seems to hold its value, hiddenfield loses its value (when changing from one multiview panel to another).
This seems to be a coplication of the multiview in combination with ajax.

I'm using Multiview control in my web page, and I'm using 3 view blocks inside the Multiview. In each view I have some text boxes with validation controls. In my 3rd view I have a submit button. If I press the submit button without enter any values in text boxes, it accept the empty value the Required validator control didn't work.
I use Only one Submit button for a all 3 views....

the problem is that it makes several seconds to update each tab (the same time for every tab) and i asume that this is happening because it updates all the TabContainer and not the selected Tab.

Jan 12, 2010I have a page with an UpdatePanel in wich I load the menu selected Layout pages, and the layouts loads its contents dynamically.
It works fine, but when I load a Layout that has an Multiview control, the code behind of the Layout don't come in into the if(!Page.IsPostBack), ok, I fixed it with if(multiview.ActiveViewIndex==-1) multiview.setactiveview("viewName").
In the Multiview I have a ListView, in the listview I have Linkbuttons that opens another view and shows the information of the specified row dynamically.
when I click in the link so the page disappear from the update panel... why? I do not a full postback of the page, so I think I don't need to reload that page on the update panel... Right?

Jan 20, 2011I have two updatepanels on my site (upanProfileSearch and upanMemberList). When I hit the button in the upanProfileSearch it should bind the Data Items in the gridview in upanMemberList and here make a RowFilter on the text in upanProfileSearch. When I make a run to curser, I can see, it happens. It makes a RowFilter. but it doesn't update the gridview. Can anyone tell me why it doesn't update? I have UpdateMode="Always" and RenderMode="inline" on both UpdatePanels.

For example, when the SelectedItem.Value of DropDownList1 is "1" then show Placeholder1, otherwise hide it.
What I am most interested in is how to configure the UpdatePanels to allow this.

AJAX :: How To Trigger Updatepanel Postback From Another Updatepanel
Mar 4, 2011 I have a web user control with one updatepanel (pnlUpdate_2), some controls and one apply button. I display the web user control as a modalpopup in my default page. In my default page i have an updatepanel (pnlUpdate_1) with a gridview and I modify that gridview with the apply button of the web user control. The web user control is for made a custom search of the gridview data. I have a problem with both updatepanels. If I set the updatemode as always in one of them (pnlUpdate_1) and the other as conditional (pnlUpdate_2), the pnlUpdate_1 make a postback in the pnlUpdate_2; I'm not an expert on this but I think that's why the pnlUpdate_2 disappear and reappear after postback of some controls in that updatepanel (not the apply button, it close the modal after postback). I try all the combinations and the problem persists. So I put both updatepanels as conditional and in some way it works; now the problem is that when I click the apply button in pnlUpdate_2 to modify the gridview in pnlUpdate_1 the pnlUpdate_1 not made the postback I get the pnlUpdate_2 postback when I use some control inside the pnlUpdate_1.
How can I postback the pnlUpdate1 from pnlUpdate_2 with the apply button?

Aug 25, 2010i have a website with three UpdatePanel Control and inside of each UpdatePanels has ONE Gridview and a SqlDataSource Control.
all gridviews are connected to its own SqlDataSource Control. so technically when i run my website all gridviews automatically get their data from their respective SqlDataSource Control and display them accordingly.
but what i need to do is instead of letting all the update panels to load each gridview their data upon Onload event, i need the updatepanel to update on queue, (Technically changing the UpdateMode to Conditional does not solve my problem.) there will be an event which will trigger the updatepanel to update later.

The problem is, now nothing show sup in the ValidationGroup when q required field is blank. The web form won't get submit but there is nothing displaying on the page either. All the RequiredFieldValidator are not showing in the web form either. All the RequiredFieldValidator controls are set to use the correct ValidationGroup too.

I use Asp Required validator and ajax validator callout to make a cool error message.
I put that form into box which have scrollbar. (Not IE Scrollbar)
Running the application then try to scroll the form with that scrollbar.
Then pressing the button to trigger the validator required.
Finally the message is displayed but the message is not in correct position. It is above suppose to be.

I have used MaskedEditExtender for currency purpose. when iam insering data into table it is accepting correct figures. while reading the same figures from database,I am displaying the figured in another textbox. (for second textbox i have used MaskedEditExtender) but it is displaying in that text box wrongly. suppose x=100 am reading this value from database and displaying x value in edit mode.but it is displaying 1.00. means it is taking last 2 digits as decimal points. how can I show in correct format?
