I'm trying to write a simple website (ASP.NET v4), which will call Windows Search, find a specific file and return it to the user. I've put together the following as an example: it calls the Windows Search service on "remoteserver", and returns the path of "somefile.txt":
I have a custom implementation of Application_PreRequestHandlerExecute which is applying a deflate/gzip filter to the response. However, on IIS7, this is failing on my "script generator" pages. These aspx pages take in Query String values and return a custom bit of script, changing the response type to text/javascript. I think it is failing because of the way iis7 uses mime types, but I'm unsure how to fix it short of turning all compressio off.
We have an ASP.NET application running on a webfarm. When we release a new version and copy it to the production servers, occasionally it happens that after a few hours the application reverts to a an earlier code base.Have anyone else experienced something like this? Would sharing an application pool between two applications running different versions of the code make this happen?

I have deployed my application to the remote server. But some error occures during that runs on the server. So i need to trace the server side code. I don't have Vs .net in my server but i have that in my client machine. Is there any way to trace the code from the client?
What I have is button that should open another page only if textbox length is 8. Javascript must be added from code because it does not simply calls the bla.aspx, it's more like bla.aspx?id=4&code=234 etc etc...
What happens is that when I click the button page bla.aspx opens, and even postback is trigered. Validator is showing the message, but page is opened and postback trigered.
I have some code that I tweaked for a contact form that I have been using for years with no trouble. I recently upgraded my hosting account to IIS7 and upgraded the Framework and now my code isn't working. I don't know how to fix my code so that it works. Could someone look at it and tell me what I need to fix? I know it's a lot of code and the person that originally wrote it for me many years ago was kind enough to comment everything so I knew what was going on but with the upgrade I have no idea what is incorrect. The error that I am getting when the form is filed out and submitted is...

I get the following error when overwriting my asp.net .dll sometimes on my web server. The server is running Windows 2008 and IIS7. The only way I can seem to resolve the issue is to restart IIS7 completely.

I'm uploading an Excel file and then reading data using oledb connection in asp.net but I'm getting the following error: The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file ''. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.
Dim ocmd As New OleDbCommand("select * from [Sheet1$]", conn) Line 12: conn.Open() Line 13: Dim odr As OleDbDataReader = ocmd.ExecuteReader() conn.open() line is red highlighted for error.
The excel file is uploaded successfully and present in the folder.
I got an error about OleDB. I just want my excel file import to Gridview. Here is my code.
string connstr = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.Oledb.4.0;Data Source=C:a.xls;Extended Properties=Excel 8.0;HDR=YES;IMEX=1"; OleDbConnection conn = new OleDbConnection(connstr); string strSQL = "Select * from [Sheet1$]"; OleDbCommand cmd = new OleDbCommand(strSQL, conn); DataSet ds = new DataSet(); OleDbDataAdapter da = new OleDbDataAdapter(cmd); da.Fill(ds); GridView1.DataSource = ds; GridView1.DataBind();
When i build project there is no error but when i run this project i got an error like this:
System.ArgumentException:Format of the initialization string does not conform to specification starting at index 47. Line 21: string connstr = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.Oledb.4.0;Data Source=C:a.xls;Extended Properties=Excel 8.0;HDR=YES;IMEX=1"; Line 22: Line 23: OleDbConnection conn = new OleDbConnection(connstr);
im using an access database with less than 50.000 records on a single table, no relations.
ive put the following code inside a two for cycles as per the respective variables (i, j) the connection is opened outside the outer cycle and closed after it, im holding the connection open to save up on open/close time and im using OleDB thinking it would be faster than ODBC. The ds fill operation takes nearly 3 seconds in debug mode, the total process will require almost 4 hours. How is it possible to speed it up?
The attached code, the oledb part, is giving me a blank web page saying it cant connect on my local dev server. I have another app with the same code, in fact I copied it and changed the db names. The one I copied from works fine.
I have an aspx page that reads an excel file and loads the content in a dataset. The page works perfectly fine in my development machine (Windows 7 / 32 bit).
But when I deploy the dll in my production server (Windows 2003 server / 64 bit), I keep getting the error 'Microsoft.jet.oledb 4.0 provider is not registered in the local machine'.
We have been struggling with this error for the last three days. We've tried all options we got with Google. Using regsvr32, regasm, running the cscript.exe to run 32 bit applications from 64 bit server.. and everything else we saw.
I created an asp form that connect to my access database, uding windows server 2003 64X but i am having trouble accessing the page due to the error that says provider not installed on local machine,i found some posts online that requested to make the iis allow 32Bit connection which i did; however the error now is gone but the page keep looping without displaying anything.
i am using oledb to connect with oracle from asp.net. i am inserting image into my database.i could insert large and samll image into database. but i couldn't update large image with small image. ie if i insert small image(50kb)and if i want to update small image with large image(200kb) it is not updating.it updates with null value. i don't know why.
i m running vs 2005 +asp.net with +xp professional+ms access 2003 now problem when i run code of for opening of oledb connection it shows error The 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 data source=d:website orthwind.mdb' provider is not registered on the local machine.wht should i do if u r taliking about 32 or 63 bit provide me complete detail
