Even though I have buffer set to false,no text is displayed.I have tried adding a response.flush,with and without changing the buffer value.What exactly is wrong?I've also tried it with and without the label(i.e. with or without just Response.Write)
i am using CollapsiblePanelExtender and button to open pdf document using response.document in same form. CollapsiblePanelExtender works fine before i click button to open pdf document using response.write and once i click on button CollapsiblePanelExtender does not work.
I have populated my data using DataRepeater Control and i have a Delete button on that so each and every row has a delete button which allows user to delete a single entry from DB. I have put this control inside UpdatePanel so i can avoid full page postback.
When i delete the row from the database and try to show a alert message using Repsonse.Write it throws me the below error message
Error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled. Details: Error parsing near 'itle||Untitled Page|<script language='ja'. Source File: [URL]
But, If i remove my update panel its coming up well, is there any solution so i can show alert box after a row been deleted ?
I know all about this exception, read the msdn article here [URL] but I do not know how to handle this when my boss does not want me to throw in false for the Response.End.
I am using the AjaxControlToolkit 3.0.30930 (the most recent). I have a very simple page with an UpdatePanel. A button on the UpdatePanel invokes Response.Redirect and passes the URL of a Click Once application on the same server. This works well if I run the website on my local system (Windows 7, IIS 7.5).
If I run the website on a remote system (Windows Server 2008, IIS 7.5, same settings) the redirect simply does not work when invoking the page from remote (using the IP address). Instead a postback is executed. Even if I use the IP address of the webserver to invoke the website locally on the webserver, the redirect does not work. Using http://localhost on the webserver the redirect works well.
I tried another test page with no UpdatePanel: The redirect works well in all scenarios.
I tried out to invoke the ClickOnce application using a link instead of Response.Redirect: The redirect works well in all scenarios, even with an UpdatePanel.

Even if setting EnablePartialRendering to false, the redirect works. This is a big clue, that the UpdatePanel causes the problem.
I have an webforms app that loses it's session variables on response.redirect. I've read Bertrand Le Roy's blog about this and still can't get it to work. The page works in production. However, when I try in the VS2k8 IDE, the session variables are there right before response.redirect and on the first line of the next page, the variables are nothing. I've confirmed the session id is the same so I'm not skipping sessions. The target page is relative so the web server doesn't think we're changing sites (as confirmed by the sessionid).
FYI I am using .NET 4.0 / MVC 3. In my controller, the following is my code:
[HttpPost] [ValidateInput(false)] public ViewResult Edit(ContentTemplateView contentTemplateView, FormCollection collection)
Everything works fine when I don't enter HTML, so I know the proper controller is being fired. Also, I have following set properly in my web.config files:
<httpRuntime requestValidationMode="2.0"/>
I only get this problem when I include the FormCollection (which is needed for this particular Controller). So what exactly am I doing wrong? [I have done what was proposed on the following questions, and they work as long as there is no FormCollection. None of them offer a solution with an included FormCollection] Why is ValidateInput(False) not working? Asp.Net MVC Input Validation still firing after being disabled ValidateInput Attribute Doesn't Seem To Work in ASP.NET MVC
I've an action in a controller that returns different content if the request is Ajax or not:
[Code]....
So, from the view I can fill a <div> with the PartialView (RenderPartial), calling the same action (allowing javascript disabled clients). The problem is the cache, because when the request has cached as a normal request, if later sends the request as an Ajax request, the view is rendered very bad.
The question is: Is there any way to use OutputCache to allow to cache in different entries this two types of requests (Ajax and not Ajax).
wanting to add the freetextbox from freetextbox.com to it.But before i add that I want to get html encoding working with out having to put the pagevalidation to false.This is what I've been reading and trying to work. I have the encoding from the database to teh site working fine. Its the encoding to the database that is being a pain in my back.http://dotnetslackers.com/articles/aspn /Encode_and_Display_HTML_Securely_in_ASP_NET_2_0.aspxI've added the validaterequest to false and encoding my text by the following. I've just discovered that the X-Requested-With header in IE is always "XMLHttpRequest, XMLHttpRequest" instead of just "XMLHttpRequest". I found the reason in MicrosoftMvcAjax.debug.js at line 280 (MVC 2.0). Seems there is no need to add this header again as it is already done in Microsoft AJAX Library. And because of this IsAjaxRequest extension method doesn't work anymore if there is no X-Requested-With param in the request body. And this make X-Requested-With header useless in IE.
In Firefox there is no problem as it doesn't append but replace the existing header value. Not tested in other browsers.
I am fairly new to MVC and just trying to achieve something which I think shouldn't be too complicated to achieve. Just want to know what the best approach for that is. I have an Event-RSVP application (NerdDinner kind) where you go to view details of the event and then click on an AJAX link that will RSVP you for the event.
<% if (Model.HasRSVP(Context.User.Identity.Name)) { %> <p>
You are registered for this event!
<%: Ajax.ActionLink("Click here if you can't make it!", "CancelRegistration", "RSVP", new { id = Model.RSVPs.FirstOrDefault(r => r.AttendeeName.ToLower() == User.Identity.Name.ToLower()).RSVPID }, new AjaxOptions { UpdateTargetId = "QuickRegister"}) %> </p> <% } else { %> <p>................
I posted this on Stack overflow [URL] but have not had a solution, just completely different way of doing it without using the Ajax.* helpers so I'm wondering if anyone has an Ajax.* solution here?I'm using MVC 3. I have a method on the controller that returns a Json object, according to this question it should be returned to me as Json, but I am finding that is not the case[URL] here's the code that I have:
[Code].... And the controller: [Code].... The first message box displays the response text which is:{"Success":True, "objectId":"testing"} the second message box displays undefinedSo it is coming back to the client correctly, I'm just not sure how to get it out?...Stefan
I know that I do not want to actually use an Ajax.ActionLink from within a JavaScript function, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to replicate the behavior. Here is what I have in my MVC 3 RC2 _Layout.cshtml:
[Code]....
I do NOT want to use:
[Code]....
Unless that can be made to populate at runtime, on demand from a script. manually clicking the ""Load Menu" ActionLink works exactly like I want except it requires the user to click the link; I want to do that for them... in this case from the Body onload event.
I have many Ajax.ActionLink's on my ASP.NET MVC (v1) page that perform destructive operations. This is "legal" because I set HttpMethod to DELETE in this case so it's not a destructive GET.
My question though is how to mitigate XSRF attacks on this operation so that other sites cannot craft this same Ajax DELETE request to delete user data from another site. This ActionLink does appear within a form that includes <%= Html.AntiForgeryToken() %> but since ActionLinks don't post the form, the anti-forgery token doesn't go to the controller, so it can't validate it.
1) Polls EF model (Poll (ID,Text),PollQuestions(ID, PollID, Answer),PollStatistics (ID,VotesCount)) 2) Action in Home Controller named Poll which returns Poll model 3) Action in Home Controller names PollResult which returns PollStatistics model 4) On Partial View Poll (radiobuttons using PollQuestions list), ActionLink to post pack 5) On Partial View PollStatistics results information 6) In Home View <div id="Poll">{Here is shown Poll PartialView}</div>
I'm quite new to MVC tech. so the question would be how can I manage Ajax postback when ActionLink is pressed and show up polls result using PollStatistics? (How does result view is passed?) If it's possible - just simple example :)
I've spent a while trying to figure this one out, . I am trying to implement a simple jax.actionlink(first time using) on rows in a table to remove the record from the user control. The ActionLink httpMethod is set to POST but it is not even hitting the Post action I have in the controller. It just gives me a 404 Resource not found error everytime.
I checked fiddler and the reason why I think is because its doing a GET instead of the value i set of POST. I dont have a get method for this since its just an ajax call to delete a record and return a partial view back to the div. I put a breakpoint in the POST method and definitely is not hitting that method. I'm not sure if its something simple or a configuration/routing issue or IIS issue. I've tried in chrome and IE8 just in case.
I'm just starting to use the TestHelpers in MvcContrib. I want to try and test an action method on my controller that itself tests if IsAjaxRequest() is true. I've used the same code that is shown in the TestHelper samples to set up the TestControllerBuilder
_controller = new StarsController(); _builder = new TestControllerBuilder(); _builder.InitializeController(_controller);
So that _controller has all the faked/mocked HttpContext inside it, which is really great. But what do I do now to force IsAjaxRequest() on the internally faked Request object to return true?
