The purpose is as the code says to filter a document scroll event but only catch it the first time I reach a certain point. That doesn't really matter but I was just wondering if anyone knew a name for this? What would you call it?

View 2 RepliesI have an asp.net application running on a web farm that allows users to upload files and download them later via link to that file. Currently, I use Windows DFS to replicate the local IIS directory where the files are stored across the web farm servers. However, as this solution does not scale out, I want to implement a more scalable solution by partitioning the documents. Specifically, say I set up multiple file storage servers (Fs1, Fs2, Fs3, etc.) on the network. Further, let's say I change my upload page to save the uploaded file to one of the file storage servers on the local LAN (based on some logic). I assume so far I am safe with ASP.NET doing this much assuming I have the correct permission for the ASP.NET process ID. The question I have is withregards to download links. When a user gets served a download link to their document (e.g. http://www.testco.com/data/doc1.txt) is there a way for me to "intercept" that HTTP request and underneath the coversserve the doc1.txt from the file storage server (e.g. Fs2) it resides

I have an application that allows admins to add types such as document types and training types that are in seperate tables with a foreign key in a transaction table.
When structuring my class I decided to go with an abstract-like pattern (without the factory methods though). So I have a Type abstract class that defines my Save, Delete, and GetList methods. I have a training type class that inherits this class. The thing is all types have 3 main properties - defined in the abstract base - but have different source tables and thus different store procedures in my DbCommand object. So basically I repeat setting up the same parameters on all the derived classes. I would like to implement the common stuff in the base but I am getting thrown off by the difference in data sources.
I have a an asp.net label control on my page.I have set the style to overflow: auto.
What i would like to know, is when there is a lot of text in my label and the vertical scroll bar is showing, is there away i can scroll to the end of the label using javascript?I would like the user to always see the bottom section of the label.
c#/vb webapp. I'm working on a very old app with a ton of pages. I want to add a function to every page's PreRender. If this application was designed properly from the start, it would use a MasterPage, or would at least inherit all pages from a BasePage other than System.Web.UI.Page.The goal is that every aspx page's PreRender should trigger a call to FooFunction(). I'd like to have this done all in one page, to avoid opening every single .aspx file and changing it's inheritence / pasting FooFunction() / some other time waster.Is there a way to do this in .net? Can you point me in the direction of any design/discussion articles?

In my organization we use nested groups. For a particular usage, we have a group (let's assume that the group name "kuku"), and the names of all the nested groups under it contains "kuku" as well.
We may assume that no other group in the LDAP has "kuku" in the name.
I need to create a filter which will return all the users which belong to one of the "kuku"s group.
Obviously, using this filter will bring only the head kukus
(&(&(objectclass=user)(objectclass=person))(memberOf=CN=kuku,cn=...rest of the group DN...))
How can I use wild card to fetch all users which belong to any kuku?
For example: (&(&(objectclass=user)(objectclass=person))(memberOf=CN=.*kuku.*))
I have decorated my base controller with a couple of action filters. They work fine.
One of those filters sets up the request - does things like set the culture based on the domain, etc.
I also have a handful of actions that require authorization using the Authorize attribute.
My problem is that when an user attempts to request a page they are not authorized to access, the authorization filter kicks in and redirects them to a page telling them that they cannot vie the page.
The issue is that the action filters never run so the culture and other request data is never set. This effectively causes language to be wrong in the view and other data to be missing.
I know that authorization filters run first but my question is this: How can I design this such that I can ensure that certain methods are always run before the view is returned, regardless of the authorization.

I am using above code to show our document online.
But when we inspect element it is showing url of file which we dont't want.
it is possible to hide this url or any other alternate to show our document to user without exposing our physical file path.
I have xml document and wanting to pass it through wcf restfull service, i am able to do that by using string format i mean i can pass the xml as string param in the restful service and it worked but now my xml document becomes huge so if i pass it as string then it gives URI long error. any way i can pass the huge xml document through the WCF RESTFul service.

If the user enters some text in the text box,then the data in the list box should be filtered as per the content entered in the textbox. In my page, i have about 7-8 such similar textboxes and listboxes. So I want to implement a common function which can be used for all the text boxes in the page. I tried to achieve this in textchanged event and javascript but sometimes not working. Is there any other simple way except javascript? Is it efficient to use java script in this scenario? Both methods successfuly launch the PDF document displaying the document path and title in the title bar. For security reasons I'd like to HIDE the document title. Can someone advice how this can be done? (How can a PDF document be launched without showing the actual document's name)

i want to create a centralised business or Service authendication architecture in .net. for example, we have a clients like c1, c2, c3, c4, ... etc. everybody logins seperatly as well as grouply. ie, if client "C1" logins [with login authentication] he can access c2 , c3, c4 also without login authendication. So its like a google. if we enters gmail account, we can access orkut, picasa like that.. i need the cetralised architecture.
And, client "c1" seperately asks seperately how will be the authendication architecture.
so give me the single solution for both these two scenarios. how will be the architecture for these two and how is the Data Base (Login) Structure.
