Changing Gridview Cell Value In Onindexchanged Event Of An Embedded Dropdownlistbox?
Sep 13, 2010
I have a data bound Gridview and in its EditItemTemplate I have a drop down list box used to select a technician name. In the OnSelectedIndexChange event I want to update two of the cells in the gridview with the Technician hourly rates. I know that from a database perspective it would be better to keep this data relational but that is not really an option here. I have gotten everything to work with the exception of actually populating the Gridview cells. If possible I would like to do it right in the OnSelectedIndexChange event but I have not been able to reference the cells.
I have a griview which is bounded to a sqldatasource and changed dynamically. How do I change the background cell color based on the value? e.g., 0-0.5 green, 0.5-1 red, sth like that.
In my asp.net application i'm using gridview to which i'm binding data dynamically by writing a select query in code behined file (all column's are autogenerated) now i want to change gridview cell to edit mode from label to textbox or dropdown on clicking of gridview's cell. How can i achive this in code behined file.
I have a DDL in templatefield of a details view. Its datasource pulls its parameter from a session field which is boolean. I've placed another DDL on the page that changes the session boolean in order to change the data displayed in the DDL in the template field. Whenevr I do this I get an error that states:"There is no source code for the current location."And when I click okay I get:"Databinding methods such as Eval(), XPath(), and Bind() can only be used in the context of a databound control."Here is my code:
I have an editable GridView and I would like to add dropdownlistbox for editable columns. Is there a way to do it? I want to bind the data also so the dropdownlistbox comes with values.
I'm having a hard time figuring this one out, i got a gridview with a sqldatasource that is loading its content, to custom columns a ButtonField and a Boundfield, both are loading in page load event,When i click the ButtonField its trigerring the rowcommand event but i can't figure out how to read the value of the cells wich i need to get for the next step of the program. Here what i got so far :- The aspx
[Code]....
- the aspx.vb
[Code]....
I'm getting the correct index and command name but i cant get the button value or bound field value either.
I'm trying to change pageindex on page_Load event but its not working. I can change page by clicking links in the page after page loaded. If this info necessary GridView in UpdatePanel.
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { /*...Some Codes...*/ //I'm trying to change page like this. GridView1.PageIndex = Index; GridViewPageEventArgs ea = new GridViewPageEventArgs(GridView1.PageIndex); GridView1_PageIndexChanging(sender, ea); } protected void GridView1_PageIndexChanging(object sender,GridViewPageEventArgs e) { GridView1.PageIndex = e.NewPageIndex; }
I have a gridview that I am using to host some data. Each row in the gridview links to a blob and I am using the SOnRowCommand event to click on the row and to stream the blob(which is an image) out as a file. This works fine. However when i implement paging on the gridview with the paging event the handler think it is an OnRowCommand event and executes the code behing the OnRowCommand handler and not the pageindex change event.
I have a datagridview that has a column which displays a ref value from another unbound table, but during an edit of a gridview entry i want a dropdownlistbox to list all the available ref values from the other unbound table source, then to insert the selected value into the bound table
this is performance related question. i have gridview and i wrote gridview selected index changing event .In that event i am enable and disable one button out side the gridview..
it is working fine and fast in my local system ..the problem is ,if i upload my application in server ,it takes more time to perform action in gridview selected index changing.how to avoid that problem ?
I have a gridview which i bind to DataView. I need to manipulate text on cell[2] of each row. I was wondering if i could do it in the OnRowCreated event? cell[0] in asp looks like this
What I have is a command column with 2 link buttons, Review and Update. The Review link will show a more in depth look at the record (pretty much a detailsview) The Update link will allow the user to edit a few select fields. The Update link works fine, because I put the code in the GridView3_SelectedIndexChanged event. When I click the Review link (which has code in the LinkButton1_Click event), there is no data from the Selected row, because the row is not yet selected. Is there a way to trigger the selection BEFORE the button click event? It seems like this should be easy, but I haven't needed to do this before.
I have a grid view which is populating with a data source through databind. And the Datasource is list of objects. Now when the user selected a row I want to get the object of that row. I'm trying to get the row like this.
GridViewRow r = gvTruckCarrier.Rows[e.NewSelectedIndex]; DataRowView drv = r.DataItem as DataRowView ;
but the drv value is null. Could any body tell me how to get the object of the selected row?
I have a gridview which shows the contents of the shopping cart. The qty cell is a template control bound to the qty field in the datasource. My ideal scenario is to have the user highlit the qty, write the new one and press 'enter' to update the sqldatasource but this may not be possible.
My second chose is an Update button to update the data but this erases the data from the other fields not listed as key.
I have tried the edit and update functions but then all fields are editable and I dont't want that, just the qty cell. If I change the read only atrribute to true on the ones that I don't want edited, then it erases the information from those fields.
I have a grid view populated with some data included bit fields and I made an export to excel function For each row i need to check the cell with the bit value to change the cell color, but the cell is always empty, even if is the field is set to False or True. foreach (GridViewRow row in gv.Rows)
I'm having a weird problem where the GridView cell that I'm programmatically updating turns grey, and throws a null error when attempting to save row. I have been searching all day and have not been able to find a solution. I'm guessing there is a problem with my code, so here it is:
Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
I can change the color of the return value based on conditional statements but cannot figure out the correct syntax to change the table cell back ground. My attempt is commented out.
How do I correctly declare the table cell? Findcontrol must not be the correct way.
I am reading a datareader, populating a datatable and then when finished populating I bind to a gridview. Right now, I am placing a literal in the cell of the rows based upon date differences....sort of a textual gant chart. What I want to be able to do is change the background color of the cell I am putting these literals in. I am including the code below where I am populating the cells with the text. Does anyone know how to make the background color change? I know that in a normal gridview on datarowbind I can change it but I don't know how to do this on a cell by cell basis within the code I have below.
The code below iterates through directory, then I collect image titles and want them to be populated in gridview. code in bold is not working well, gridview is only filled with the last image in list.
how to fill gridview cell-by-cell only with available amount of images?
In my Website, I have a gridview which has datasource dynamically bound from database table. Requirement:
Now I want that when a user clicks in a cell of the gridview it becomes editable and he can edit the cell values and update the database accordingly. I dont wish to use the in-built edit, delete and update buttons of gridview. How can I do that?
I had a problem with my site in the past couple days and have almost recovered, but now I'm stuck on some code that has an Auto-Complete feature, which allows a user to type a name of a pub into a TetxBox, and based on the returned names, the user can click one and see that name in the GridView (just below the TextBox). The GridView was set up so that there was an href that the user could click on and that would open a window and the user would see the pub in Google Maps. The code below works just fine for the Auto-Complete and the GridView.
[Code]....
Here is the end of the working code. Somehow I need to use the code below to make the GridView have a href to allow a user to click and see the pub in Google Maps:
[Code]....
The code above worked fine before, but I'm not sure how it was incorporated into the GridView, and since I had a problem with my site a few days ago, I haven't been able to figure out this part.I'd sincerely appreciate any help in getting this up and running again.
