I have a griview which is bounded to a sqldatasource and changed dynamically. How do I change the background cell color based on the value? e.g., 0-0.5 green, 0.5-1 red, sth like that.
I can change the color of the return value based on conditional statements but cannot figure out the correct syntax to change the table cell back ground. My attempt is commented out.
How do I correctly declare the table cell? Findcontrol must not be the correct way.
I am reading a datareader, populating a datatable and then when finished populating I bind to a gridview. Right now, I am placing a literal in the cell of the rows based upon date differences....sort of a textual gant chart. What I want to be able to do is change the background color of the cell I am putting these literals in. I am including the code below where I am populating the cells with the text. Does anyone know how to make the background color change? I know that in a normal gridview on datarowbind I can change it but I don't know how to do this on a cell by cell basis within the code I have below.
I'm having some trouble with editing a gridview row's background color when Editing it.
The thing is, I am using the RowDataBound event method to change e.Row.BackColor based on a criteria when displaying the report( 3 different colors depending on result ). For the rows that don't fall under that criteria, a GridView's property <EditRowStyle BackColor="#999999" /> is applied upon clicking the Edit button.
However, I can't seem to find a way to change the color of those that do fall under the criteria since RowDataBound seems to be called all the time, overriding any changes I make.
In my asp.net+vb web I am using the below code to highlight the row...
If e.Row.DataItem("Auth") Is System.DBNull.Value <> True AndAlso e.Row.DataItem("Auth") > e.Row.DataItem("Held") Then e.Row.BackColor = Drawing.Color.LightCoral
I want now only to give colour to the cell in the field and not the entire row ....
I have a grid with 5 rows and 5 columns, All containing templetefield(Combobox)I am trying to set the background color of my grid cell(contain combobox) depending upon which item is selected. (again, dependent on item selection, so background color is not permanent). How can i achieve this?
I have a data bound Gridview and in its EditItemTemplate I have a drop down list box used to select a technician name. In the OnSelectedIndexChange event I want to update two of the cells in the gridview with the Technician hourly rates. I know that from a database perspective it would be better to keep this data relational but that is not really an option here. I have gotten everything to work with the exception of actually populating the Gridview cells. If possible I would like to do it right in the OnSelectedIndexChange event but I have not been able to reference the cells.
I am pulling information from two different databases (structure is the same) and putting them into two datatables. The problem I am having is figuring how to merge the data togther in a single gridview and change cell background color for only the data in the second datatable.
if a cell background colour is dark (not just black, could be many shades of grey) and then change the cell font to a lighter colour so as to contrast the background colour and make the text easier to read?
Alright, so I have a Gridview which is bound to a stored procedure. The stored procedure uses cross tab functionality to count customer data / types, and then display it like this ...
Code:
[code]....
Now this is where I'm stumped ... each data cell (or cell that displays the count of data for that column / row), need to be a link, and upon clicking that link, a pop up or something will bring up another gridview or list listing all those clients or customers. For example, if you click on row 2, cell 2 (519), then it will open a gridview or list of all 519 of those clients. This basically means each cell will have to represent a different query, unless I use dynamic sql somehow... Does anyone have any idea how I might be able to accomplish this.
In my asp.net application i'm using gridview to which i'm binding data dynamically by writing a select query in code behined file (all column's are autogenerated) now i want to change gridview cell to edit mode from label to textbox or dropdown on clicking of gridview's cell. How can i achive this in code behined file.
My GridView rows have a field for a server timestamp when a person entered in a particular state(like idle). I want to show the time elapsed since the person has been in that particular state. That I want to show as a tooltip when mouse is hovered over the cell and time elapsed calculation I want to do on client side only without a roundtrip to the server. In RowDataBound event of the GridView I add functions to the show and hide the tooltip by following some examples on the web. In the JavaScipt function, I calculate the time elapsed. But it works first time but not after that somehow and I get a JScript error "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Function expected." on this line:
My GridView is inside a user control which is used as a ASP.NET web part and my web part zones are inside ASP.NET UpdatePanel. Could it cause a problem?
I am trying to create a composite control - A textbox, gridview and a button. When I create the grid dynamically, I use my function GridViewDataBind() that will basically create the gridview at runtime and bind it with data. In this method, I add a blank column (first column for expand/collapse image), databound columns (using custom Itemtemplate), a placeholder, then a new html row/cell and a child gridview. I want to know how can I add these html rows/cols to my gridview. Here is the code:
[Code]....
Not sure if the approach is right and if I was able to explain my problem?
I have made a gridview by assigning a sqldatareader object to it to display records....but i want to change the headertext of each column.i dont want the default name stored in the database how do i change the headertext?
I generate dynamic grids based on a count value returned from some DB tables. the code for it goes like this : I give and Id to each grid that is generated.
if (myDataList1.Count >= 1) { for (int i = 0; i < myDataList1.Count; i++) { //retrieving the exact i count from pageload ViewState.Add("newCount", i); //creating the dynamic grid with its corresponding gridview properties. grvDynamic = new GridView(); grvDynamic.ID = "GridView" + (i+3); grvDynamic.AutoGenerateColumns = false; grvDynamic.RowCreated += GridViewRowCreated; grvDynamic.RowDataBound += grvDynamic_RowDataBound; //adding bound field columns to retrieve data from stored proc BoundField metric = new BoundField(); metric.HeaderText = "Goal "; metric.DataField = "metric"; grvDynamic.Columns.Add(metric); BoundField mtd = new BoundField(); mtd.HeaderText = "MTD"; mtd.DataField = "value_MTD"; grvDynamic.Columns.Add(mtd); BoundField goal = new BoundField(); goal.HeaderText = "Tier Level Achieved"; goal.DataField = "value_goal"; goal.HeaderStyle.Width = Unit.Percentage(10); grvDynamic.Columns.Add(goal); BoundField you1 = new BoundField(); you1.HeaderText = "Month End"; you1.DataField = "firstLevel_you"; grvDynamic.Columns.Add(you1); BoundField you2 = new BoundField(); you2.HeaderText = "Month End"; you2.DataField = "secondLevel_you"; grvDynamic.Columns.Add(you2); ButtonField singleClick = new ButtonField(); singleClick.CommandName = "clickHyperlink"; singleClick.Visible = false; grvDynamic.Columns.Add(singleClick); BoundField metricId = new BoundField(); metricId.HeaderText = "Metric Id"; metricId.DataField = "metricID"; metricId.Visible = true; grvDynamic.Columns.Add(metricId); //binding the gridview to data. grvDynamic.DataSource = data; grvDynamic.DataBind(); grvDynamic.Columns[5].Visible = false; } }
protected void grvDynamic_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { //this basically gets the metric Id's of rows with the ishyperlink flag set to 'Y'. I need to make these particular cells clickable var isClickable = (from md in myDataList3 where md.IsHyperLinkFlag == 'Y' &&
md.value_MTD != null select md.metricID).ToList(); if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow) { // Get reference to button field in the gridview. LinkButton _singleClickButton = (LinkButton)e.Row.Cells[5].Controls[0];
This code works perfectly fine , depending on the ishyperlink flag in the database...specific cells in the grid are made clickable and then redirected to page2.aspx My Issue: I need to capture which specific cell in which specific grid the user has clicked. store some information in sessions based on the cell clicked and use that information in page2.aspx.
I've written an ASP.net page that uses an ASP GridView to display a table of data.
I would like to write some JavaScript that will color each cell red that contains the value '0'. I think I can use something like $("td").each or document.getElementsByTagName('td'). I have some CSS I would like to apply to the cells to make them red.
How can I do this with jQuery (or without jQuery) ?
I have a question that probably is the easiest one but can't figure it out, this is the deal; I have a table in reporting services that shows the names of employees and their position in a company, but what I want to do is to make the background gray of the entire row when the position is equal to "supervisor", do I made myself clear.
I have a poster in the Japanese WebMatrix forum asking if it's possible to change and or disable the color highlighting php syntax, which looks like yellow by default.
(Actually I myself is an IT newbie, show me a step-by-step procedure to solve the above issue!!)
After clicking one of these buttons, my wizard ActiveStepIndex have to change. This is no problem.
[Code]....
But now I would like to change the buttons background-color after clicking one of them. This is no problem too, but if I click the next button, the first button background color must change to white. But it does not do that. It remains constant #cccccc.
Only the button, whitch I have clicked should be #cccccc. The other buttons should be white.
I want to dynamically change the color of the web page based on the day of the month. I'll hard code the colors for the 1st, 2nd, etc., but I need to test for the date and choose the color.
