I finished an intranet application using webconfig to store my connection string to an Access database which has linked tables to SQL Server 2005.
Everything works perfectly, but when I publish the application on a IIS server service, it seems like all connections fail... :(
I looked up on internet but found nothing on this. I think my webconfig file is correct :

I've got an asp.net application which I've deployed to my shared hosting provider. I've modified the connection string to point to the MySQL database stored on the shared server, and the page loads correctly.
However, when I run the page through the internet (as opposed to through VWD2008), I get an error:
Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts.
I'm not sure where I've gone wrong. The MySql.Data.dll; MySql.Data.Entity.dll and MySql.Web.dll are all in the /Bin folder.
Can any one explain what is web application deployment.and how it is useful.in the sense of advantages.also steps for web deployment.

I am new to the asp .net (c#) technology.I got an assignment to work on a existing C# project which is alreay live and working.I have downloaded all the code files from the given FTP server on my local server.My Local Server Environment Details :OS - WinXP.NET Framework Version - 2.0 ( There are different versions on the machine i.e. 1.0,1.1,2.0,3.0,3.5 but through IIS i have enabled 2.0 because the application is developed in 2.0)Visual Studio - 2003 In the downloaded source code i did not found any solution file to open the project in Visual Studio , So i created the new project and by using the add existing elements i added all the project files to the newly created project.Am i doing right way.Will my application will work when i will upload the code on live server because the solution file would have mylocal machine configuration.Suggest me how can i proceed in long term vision so that in future i do not face any problem during application release.

When I go to Solution Explorer->References I have AjaxControlToolKit.dll file and if I take the property of that file i see the following in PATH field E:My DataEBPMinAjaxControlToolkit.dll which is a path of my development machine.
After that I went to my UAT machine (windows xp + IIS 6.0) copy the entire project in a folder of UAT machine, created a virtual directory, provided Alias and the Directory.Now when I access my UAT server from outside it works perfect except it throws "RunTime Error" on those pages where I have used

I guess as my AjaxControlToolkit path is refereing to my development machine location therefore its throwing error...what's the solution without making proper deployment. Actually on our UAT all the applications are using IIS 6.0 and if i go on proper deployment and IIS 7.0 (i guess it requires for deployment from Visual Studio 2010) I will have to reconfigure all the applications on UAT which I cannot do at this moment.

I have created roles and users using ASP.NET configurations for login validations, it works fine if I run my application within project but when I publish my site and try to run from my Inetpub it giving this error. I tried all shorts of solutions posted in website but nothing worked for me.

I am a PHP developer trying to set up hosting for an ASP website. The site works when hosted with the original host but I need to move it.
I have uploaded the files to oneandone hosting. I have set up a datebase and chnaged the database connection details but get the following error
Inner Exception Could not find stored procedure 'uspPageHit'.
The database connection looks like this:

and the info on the one andone host panel provides :
database name, user name, hostname, password
Have I put the correct details in the correct place?
If we are deploying ASP.NET web application, Do we need to copy both *.aspx and *.aspx.cs files on the server?Also what if I am using different framework version? I mean 1.1 / 2.0 /3.0 /3.5 /4.0? What will be the answer in different .NET Framework versions?

I want to make sure this doesn't have a negative impact on the connection speed between the database and web server. Is there a way to test the connection speed from both web servers to the database?

I have a database on Go Daddy and my VS2008 app can not access it via web.config connection string. Of course runs great locally in development. I copy/pasted the connection string information from Go Daddy exactly into my web.config file. Web site runs fine on the web but when I try to Login at my login page, i get :The SSE Provider did not find the database file specified in the connection string. At the configured trust level (below High trust level), the SSE provider can not automatically create the database file.
I used VS2008 to create the .sql script files and uploaded them to Go Daddy and the Go Daddy people say everything works as they and I can both Login to the database from within GoDaddy.The database i am trying to access consists of the a ASPNETDB.mdf and another Database.mdf together as one in the Go Daddy database.

I did for testing and while running the setup file this give me the final response is "The installer was interrupted before setup1 could be completed. You need to restart the installer to try again".
It's been so long since I've done this that I don't remember how.
Basically, I am creating a Web Application from scratch. I have dragged the LoginBox to the page and went to "Administer Website". Unfortunatel I see no where where I can choose to have the application talk to an externally-hosted database as opposed to defaulting to the "App_Data" folder. I am hosting an SQL instance named "SQLEPXRESS" on my development machine and have configured a database and user. I wish for the site to use this database and user and have set the connectionstring as follows in the web.config:

Yet even after adding that I see it showing no where in the "Administer Website" section. Please walk me through getting my application to talk to this database and configuring the necessary tables. I remember there needing to be some sort of exe I needed to run to do this, but my Google and forum searching is failing me.
I am using WIX 3.6 for VS2010 to create our MSI's for our web application setups. This is all working fine and all in terms of deployment and uninstall.
I recently allowed the user to specify the virtual directory and application pool names to support side by side installs. This is all fine as I have created my own setup bootstrapper.
The issue is with uninstallation.
If the user does not specify the names and leaves the default values, it will install successfully.
The minute the user updates the names from the defaults, the install process will not remove the app-pool and virtual directory. This is what I have found consistently with my testing.
