Roles/Membership Provider: User defnied.
Problem:-
After setuped my website in iis7 while trying to Login in web page even I entered correct password it says Incorrect password in Login control.After long googling I suspecty that we need to add "Provider to trusted provider" to Authorized provider. I have gone http://www.iis.net/ConfigReference/system.webServer/management/trustedProviders/add but didn't works for me.
Can you anyone please help me in this.
How can I test an application that I am publishing to a remote provider's IIS7 hosted site, with the VS2008 development server that is built in with VS2008 on an XP Machine?
My membership/roles work perfectly up on the remote host. On ths hosted IIS7 site when I try to access a secure directory it redirects to login, and I am able to login, however when I launch (debug - F5) from VS2008, it will provide that folder/resource, no questions asked. Same build, config, etc... nothing has changed.
I am running XP, and local IIS version installed is 5.1.
My guess is what is happening is that the new format required in the web.config is configured properly for IIS7 deployment, which is why it works remotely, but when running locally through VS2008/XP it is running with an older version on IIS and does not recoginize the new tags.
I have a website application which performs a function which I need to integrate into my main website application. Right now I'm getting errors as I copy and paste the parts of the web.config file from the working app into my main app. When I just paste in the assemblies, I get 2 errors. I'm just going to just paste both of them here and if you think you integrate them, I'd really appreciate it if you would paste it here in the thread.

i have a above connections string in which i use UserName: taha1_ID2, Password: taha321, and SQL Server DataBase Name:taha1_web2 How can we encrypt it in web.Config

Its get added and are shown in web config like:-

Whatever I want to do using all this, its Working fine locally..
BUT when I upload it, this web config file shows error and doesnt proceed at all and my website goes down.
I am facing strange problem. I have a database connection string in web.config. I am not able to read web.config file. Its perfectly working in our server and my system also. After hosted in outside server, i am not able to read web.config file at all. What could be the problem.

I have created a webservice, which debugs fine with no errors, and published this on my localhost server for testing.
I have created a windows app which calls the webservice but am hitting problems as soon as I reach the point where the webservice tries to connect to its database.
The connectionstring is held within the web.config file of the webservice as

and called within the code by using the statement

However, the windows application is not seeing the connection properly, if I use the statement as above I get a debug error stating that it is a NULL reference. If I change it to

I no longer get a debug error, but the connection is not made. On testing the above code it believes the name for connection 0 is "localSqlServer" and in both the web app and the webservice the error below is returned.

why the windows application see's the correct connection string code as null? Is there additional security I need to add for the web.config file to be accessible? Or does the connection strings need to be relicated within the app.config of the windows app?
Both applications are written in C# and I use Visual Studio 2010, ASP.Net version 4.0.30319

I have a custom ASP.NET application that I utilize for several clients that I host. Each client has a separate domain and the application is normally a child application under the root domain [URL]. The application files are the same (aspx, ascx, style sheets, images, etc.). The only thing different is the web.config file for each client. As development of the application continues to evolve, I have to update the application for each directory and this obviously becoming tedious. I am trying to come up with a method keep the application up to date. My first though is placing the application into a single physical path and creating multiple applications pointing to that path (the problem with this method is I can't have different web.config files). I am curious as to what solution others are using in this scenario...

As the user count is less, we are planning to have two webservers clustered under a webfarm. We are planning to go for a Sticky Session. Netscaler is the load balancing and reverse proxy we are using at hardware level to route to the same webserver till the end of the client session.
1. Do I need to implement any handler at asp.net level to route the session or to provide browser cookie details of session to NetScaler? If so, what should be implemented in detail. Any sample code will also be helpful.
2. I need to maintain a big chunk of object information in session. Does a webserver can handle it?
3. At the hardware level how ReverseProxy works to navigate it to the same webserver? I want conceptual details of it from a web application end.

i try to used vs2010 build a mvc2 website, just as a testing. so, i include the jquery script file and some css files, it works well in the vs2010. how ever, when i deploy it to iis7/windows 2008 r2, i found all the css files ("/content/*.css") can run well, but the image files ("/img/*.gif") and script files ("/script/*.js") were absence. in fact, the website runs except the image files & script files.

i already defined some routes in the global.asax which work perfectly in my local environment with vs2010, but when i run the same things on my webserver i just get 404-errors from the browser.

I get a different 404 error page but still produced by iis7 itself ("The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.").
so I have a fully functioning DynamicData website, and all works fine when debugging in VS2010But when I moved the site to a webserver (server 2008, IIS7) the default paeg comes up, but any links or pages after that are all sending 404 errors http://{IP address}/{table}/{action}.aspxdoes not work when on the server, but works fine in VS.What configuration am i missing from IIS7 to make this url work?
