If i add this dll in other application then these satellite assemblies are added in other application bin directory. Aug 31, 2010Page B - loads slowly and needs to do some CPU-intensive operations on the web server.
I noticed that when someone is loading Page B, then Page A also loads slowly. This is even worse if multiple users are loading Page B at the same time. Page A won't finish loading until Page B is done.
Is there a best practice for making sure that Page A can still load quickly? Maybe a config setting or IIS setting that I need to change from its default? With 2 users loading Page B at the same time, the web server CPU usage only gets to 30% so I suspect it might be something I can tweak with the settings.

I want to give my users the ability to define new content pages (i.e. Categories: Sofas, Tables, Lamps, and add/delete as they see fit) through a management panel. Feb 16, 2011I am using visual stuido 2010 and vb. I am trying to direct users to one of three different pages upon sign in, depending on their role. Basically I have three roles: administrators, dealers, and customers And three respective destination page urls: admin/default.aspx, dealer/default.aspx, and customers/default.aspx. Everything I can find in the forums is in C. So far I have nothing, so I guess I'm asking someone to write the whole sub for me. I wish I was more proficient, but I'm working on it.

On debugging it always fires the catch block. Earlier I never had such problem with emails but for last few days none of the email is being delivered.Is it my system problem? Our ASP .NET 2.0 web service gets about 200 requests per second and a lot of them end up in the Request Queue in IIS as observed in perfmon. We are trying to increase the maxWorkerThreads so that the pending requests get processed. We do not want to set this in machine.config as it will impact every ASP .NET application.
Is it possible to set it for a single web application? Web.config does not allow <processModel> tag.
If I do this programmatically, will it cause all the applications in the web pool to take this new setting?
Can I do this in Application_start of Global.asax?

initially we developed all applications in single project with proper folder structure. but now we want to make each application as separate product.
all applications share single authentication(Obviusly this is single project) want to keep that way only.
I want to split project in smaller projects but want to keep shared authentication so how should i orgnise this project in IDE.
Also i need guidence on hosting such project
i should make small projects within single solution file. and at the time of publish amke single virtual directory to host the root project(login.aspx etc) and in subdirectories i should host other projects. so this way SSO(single sign on) across applications is possible ..

Right now I am ending up with a lot of separate classes and List classes<> for these basic operations.
How can I make a single class for some basic tasks as these by using generics? I want to have single class for some methods like get current year, employee names, Department Name/Code, Title etc. I am using .NET 2.0.

After some searching, I found that I can achieve similar tasks by creating a DTO namespace.
What I don't get right now is how to create multiple classes inside my DTO class. Say 1 class for just returning 'year', One for 'Employee Name/Code' and so on inside the single DTO class.

Nov 11, 2010I would like to use ASP.net, C# and SQL to display a list of games with radio buttons like below (the x is the radio). One team can be selected for each game.
game 1: x team 4 x team 2
game 2: x team 6 x team 1
game 3: x team 5 x team 3
The game list is stored in a table in an SQL database. So far, I can pull all teams into one big RadioButtonList. I cannot figure out how to create multiple RadioButtonList controls from this single table of games. Does anyone know how this can be accomplished - or reference to an example / tutorial that accomplishes something like this?
