i have project that have used report microsoft . it can print in win server 2008 when it is source code but when i published project in serever 2008, there is no data in my page and it cant print.

P.S: I've used Right Click -> publish but, I've used a Database in my project, but VS2008 doesn't publish it.

I am using Visual Studio 2008 Express and I read some where that it doen't support the "publish" menu option.
The article said I need to run "Aspnet_Compiler" from the command line. What do they mean by "command line" ?? I tried using "Aspnet_Compiler -v /MyFirstWebSite" in the "Run Command" and it indicate that it can find it.
How do I use this ?? Or is there an easier way to publish my website design I did in Visual Studio 2008 Express ??
Or if I move my design into Visual Studio 2010 Express, will the publishing be easier?? If so, how do I move the complete project over ?? Is it as easy as to install VS 2010 Express and open my project ?
i have dsigned a website in my desktop in my company. i have installed sql server 2005 and visual studio 2008.everything is working fine if i host my website from my workstation.but my desktop is not accessible to all the departments in my company so i have to host my website on one of the company's sql servers.let us assume that "isaserver" is my company's sql server where i want to host my website.now, what i did that i created a virtual directory in isaserver's wwwroot folder and pasted my c:/inetpub/wwwroot contents into that.but when i tried to access the website, its not working.

I've created a website and now I'm trying to publish it on web server but I'm getting a lot of errors related to 'web.config' that website working fine in my VS2010 but I don't know what's the problem on the server I'm getting following error:-

If I remove whole line 6 then it show error in line 7and so on, I've use radcontrol tool in my web application but whatever I've used they are working fine on my system.

I am developing the web application in Asp.net 2008 under WinXP SP2 32bit. I am able to publish it in the local system and Test server. When i move this to production sever i am facing problems. The production environment OS is Windows Server 2003 Standard 64bit. When i am accessing login page i am getting this error "../../login.aspx/ has not been pre-compiled and cannot be requested". What could be causing the error message? Any IIS settings, or .NET 2.0 settings which prevents IIS from loading the compiled files?

I created a website on my local hard drive and now we are ready to deploy. My question is what are the recommendations for publishing websites? What steps I need to take care of? Is it possible not to deploy the "code-behind" files. Incase of hacking of windows server, I do not want somebody to see my .vb files or Is it possbile that I can convert the whole thing except aspx files in to a strong dll?

View 4 RepliesI'm deploying a web site to a server I've set up for testing. The website works great in development (Running in VS 2010) as well as in production on multiple client sites. I'm simply trying to test the site in a new environment. I simply copied the complete site (pages, code, directories, everything...) to my server. In IIS7 I created a new web site pointing to the directory containing my site's files and directories. I can open my site and my initial login page loads.
Database connections are made, page and buttons all seem great. Then, I log in. In the first line of code that attempts to instantiate an instance of a class contained in my App_Code folder, an exception is thrown, 'Invalid object name'. I've messed with as many settings as I could in IIS7 but to no avail. I've searched the internet on something regarding this, but nothing seemed to apply. At this point I'm about ready to install Visual Studio on my server to get it to run (this was the route one of the other developers took).
