I gonna build a custom control that derive from DevExpress.Web.ASPxEditors.ASPxTextBox and add 2 features on top of this base class controls.
1. Convert all input text to uppercase.
2. No allow to input certain special character.
Here, I able to provide 2nd feature but hv no idea how to do for the 1st. Below is my code in the custom control class.

Only the first input character was automatically converted to uppercase. The rest inputs are not converted. Do you know what changes I need to make it work?
I'm using code to convert items in a Datagrid row from UPPERCASE to Title Case. It works good, but the problem is if it comes across a hyperlink field, it will put in a blank value. Not sure why its doing this, but here is the code below. Wondered if any one has came across this problem and managed to solve it?

I read a lot of posts where people want to transform the text to uppercase as the user inputs it. I don't care about that.
My customer wants all text input changed to upper case when it's posted. You know that using DetailsView and Gridview you don't have to write code to handle the Insert & Update for each field. However in order to change the text fields to uppercase prior to the insert/update, I'd have to intercept (oninserting/onupdating) and write code for EACH TEXT FIELD. Is there a more efficient way to do this? Maybe something in CSS or some other method I don't know about?
I need to be able to convert all input fields in a DetailsView (Insert) to uppercase. How do I do this? My SQL query and the whole insert statement takes place in ASP.NET, and not in code behind so I'm not sure if I can dynamically do this in ASP.
I've used Text-Transform in CSS to make them look uppercase for the user, but it still enters the details in lower case in the field.

I'd like to create a user control which takes XML as input, applies an XSL transform on it, and displays the results of the transform in the web form or windows form in place of the user control. The transform should happen automagically when the windows form or web form is first loaded. I'd think this would be pretty easy to do. created a Custom Textbox Control that is intended to be a "masked date" textbox, so that I can handle different ways a user might enter in a date and make it work no matter what.I did this by creating a custom control with 3 separate Textboxes one for month,one for day one for year,then do some handling for different things that could be entered and it would all work.
The problem I am having is,when I add this control to the page,if I do an alert to check the Text value of the custom control it just gives me "[ServerControl1]" even if I enter in a date.
I tried doing an AutoPostback after entering so that it would refesh the Viewstate to have the values of the textboxes but the control doesnt seem to actually postback, even though I have it enabled.accessing the Textbox value after someoen

I have a user control (ascx file) that contains an interface for users to change the data retrieved from the db. So, I am displaying data and most of this data can be edited by the user. When the user enters text into a textbox, and clicks "Save Changes", the value they typed in is lost and not persisted to the database. I realize now this is because the SaveChanges button does a postback, and the user control gets reloaded with its original valuesbefore the code within my SaveChanges button gets executed. I'm not sure if there are properties I need to set to save the input data, or if I need to write my own code to do it. What is the generally accepted method to do this? (Also, all of the controls in the ascx file are wrapped in an Update Panel.)

The number of ListItems in each RadioButtonList is not known until runtime. Depending on how many items each list contains, the RepeatColumns property of each list is set differently. To do this in the handler for the ItemDataBound event I need to get the count of ListItems in each RadioButtonList. How do I expose the Items.Count property of each internal RadioButtonList as a top-level property? I tried using a getter to return the count but this generates a compile-time error to the effect that the count cannot be assigned to--even though I have not created a setter.
Similarly, in the handler for the Submit event, I need to get the ClientID of each internal RadioButtonList to pass to a method that checks for data changes. How do I expose the ClientID of each component RadioButtonList as a top-level property?
I can of course index the Controls collection of the composite control to access the child control and read its properties--but that defeats the whole point of making a complex, independent custom server control.
I am trying to build a custom composite control, which allows me to add custom content to each child control. It's a similar concept to what you have with a GridView and TemplateColumn. The markup used to place the control on the page would end up being something like this:

I have the code below, which allows me to put that markup on the page without throwing any errors, and it renders all the correct HTML, except it doesn't render the contents of the ColumnTemplate. I have replaced the Render() code with a comment because it's quite long winded and doesn't add anything important here:
