try to have custom controls in a DevExpress grids detail row. When ever a row is expanded I would like to load data into those custom controls based on the Masters Key.I am using the detailrow expended method.

The problem is I don't know how to access the custom controls in the expended detail row. I don't see any Row or Items properties on the grid, which would have been with a FindControl().

now on the server side I user linq to delete specified row and then submit changes to my DataContext and then DataBind() on my grid.
Problem is that sometimes standard ASPxGridView loading panel is shown for about 1 second ant then my row dissapears so it behaves properly but sometimes loading panel stops mooving. and I need to move mouse over my grid or click button so that my Grid is updated(row dissapears).

I am using a GridView with an ObjectDataSource bound to a DataTable. I am using the GridView for displaying a report, NO editing is being done, just read only, however, I am sorting and paging. I need to turn off ViewState for the GridView to improve performance. After turning off the ViewState I start getting the error messages for both paging and sorting:The GridView 'gridView' fired event Sorting which wasn't handled.This is fine I just need to know how to implement the Sorting and Paging events correctly to leveage the ObjectDataSource. I would preffer not to remove the ObjectDataSource from use, especially if there is a way I can manually wire up the datasource correctly to continue to use the GridView as I had been when ViewState was on.Any help on getting the datasource wired up or a solution for handling the events in the context of the datasource would be great.
I have read your article from aspsnippets.com about custom paging it really work, but there are a problem that if there are more record in database (2000 to 5000) than number of page index will be goes in large number. like 1 to 200, any way which can divide it like 12345678910...2000.

Based on List I get from Session i added new steps to my wizard To each step I had added a custom control
Each custom control in tern contains another custom Gridview Control in it.
So here's the problem when the page loads for example for two steps. All is good Wizard does what it's supposed to do.
But when I try to use sorting or paging in that custom Gridview. Somehow it displays the gridview I should see in the next step of the wizard.
Also what I'm noticing through debugging. Is that when I press next in the wizard I go back to the original page where I do all of the code specified above, and it recreates the wizzard. But it goes to the next step. Is this the way wizard supposed to work? Just doesn't seem very efficient.
I populate a DataTable, then sort the DefaultView of that DataTable. When I set the DataTable as the source for my report, the sort doesn't work. here is the code (GetData returns a valid DataTable):

I want to inherit the DataControlField (System.Web.UI.WebControls) to be able to carry two label controls and then I want to color the two labels to get some sort of conditional formatting, I've got the conditional formatting part but how can I customize this class?
Where in my class should I define the two label controls? How would I override the CreateField method?
P.S: I know I can accomplish this, in XHTML Markup, but I have so many columns that it would not be appropriate to include those markups in the page markup. Therefore I'm doing that in the CodeBehind page.

I have a GridView in ASP.Net 3.5. I added BoundFields as columns, set DataField and Header Text. Total I have 6 columns like that. Although I set "AllowSorting=True" in design view, when I run this page, all the columns didn't have hyper link that I can click on it and sort that particular column. in the myGV_DataBound sub.This works well, but not everywhere. A few gridviews are populated from codebehind, and this is where things go wrong. What happens is that - nothing happens (it's still the original heading). I added a Watch, but once the HeaderText property changed, the Watch never yielded another result, but stayed with the new value.
Now I suspect that even though the HeaderText property has changed, this doesn't get reflected in the GV when populated from codebehind.
I guess that I should write something else than "e.Row.Cells("name").Text" to still have the click-behaviour, but I don't know what.

I have followed Custom Pagination article to implement the custom pagination using GridView.
I have also done custom pagination using the DataGrid but i am still confused on following things.
DataGrid which is there in the ASP.NET 1.1 having VirtualItemCount which is set to render the pagination interface [1 2 3 4 5 ... something like this] GridView does not have the above mentioned property then how to generate the pagination UI?
I have a Listview control that DataBind programatically... ie I am NOT using SqlDataSource or such... I am attempting to sort a column... clicking on a link button that fires the "Sorting" event. So, after cliking on the column heading... I end up in this routine, where I hardcoded the .Sort = values (just for testing). The code is executed... but the RESULT show via Listview remains the SAME. No change!
How to fix this? I've seen some other posts examples that uses this event (ListView1_Sorting) and then sort via LINQ. I am not ready to try that...

When I implement Custom web control inheriting ASP.NET Menu Ajax is not working. I try to Override Render method and generate Li's rather than table.I try to use Control Adapters, but when I am not using adapters for some pages ithe base adapter is generating just hyperlinks with span. I do not want this way. So I can not use these.

I am trying to add paging to my datagrid. This datagrid stores hierarchical data. So the top row has several children rows that need to go beneath it. When a new top row type is going to be added I want to make a new page. This way all related rows will be displayed on the same page. So, I think the tricky part might be making pages with varying sizes. I am not sure how to go about attacking this issue. All of the custom paging examples I have seen still have x amount of rows per page. Like I said my pages have to all be various sizes.
