I want to bind data from database to Dynamic Grid-view Control with textbox and dropdown using dataset.
I have successfully inserted data to database using this code but now i want to fetch inserted data to same grud view control. i have tried following code. but not getting ans.

I have webpage with three dropdown boxes on left side (Country Dropdownbox, State Dropdownbox, City Dropdownbox) and these dropdown works independently or one box will depend on another. I have a gridview in right side and the results will be binding to the gridiew by selecting the left side dropdown boxes.
I need to implement the caching technology here because the web page loading very slow due to large amount of records. For example if i select any country from the first dropdown box and the other two boxes are default (Selected text is "ALL"), then It should display records related to selected country in gridview.
Further if I select country and state from the respective boxes then it should display the related records in the gridview like so on. Now i want do some caching functionality to improve the performance. I tried caching the Dataset while binding to gridview but in my case the results will not be static becasue user every time will select different options from different dropdown boxes and results will come based on the selected options.

i am fetching data in a dataset.now i m trying to modify the contents using :

but, this gives me error saying roperty 'item' is read only.

I have a set of dataset with different column retrieved from DB. I need to present the datasets in one GridView (or other ListView etc...) without specifying the column_header. It should present automaticly since the GridView is bind to the DataSet.
In additional, I want this GridView to handle multiple rows edit and update the dataset, idealy, show data in textboxs in initially.How could I set the GridView to edit_model without hardcode column_header and textboxs in 'itemtemplate' or filed.
How could I achieve the bulk edit and update, so that I can assign 'mydataview1.table' to the dataset.

i have this xml file which i read using the DataSet.ReadXml( path ) method . The tables created from the Xml file is Related in such a maner that each product has many options. Product is in one table and Options are in another.Now all i want to do is display the related tables in One Gridview. For your reference below is the products Xml file,

Please do shine your Knowledge on what should be done to display Child ~ Master relationship. By the way , its a definite NO for someone who would show me that link from msdn about displaying XML data using Xmldatasource and gridview [That's a lousy way to display data]

I trying to change data on a map control on a dropdown selection that loops through vb and is supposed to refresh the control with the new selecctions. When I change the dropdown, the new recordset is generated but the control does not refresh with the new data, just flashes and shows the last results from the onload command.

in my application the gridview header is dynamically binded in RowEditing,RowUpdating and RowDeleting events.when i am deleting any row from gridview it will show an alert boxwith a message

I have 3 textboxes , 1 dropdown , 1 Button and 1 gridview .
Textboxes ID are :ACode , ADesc , ASeq
DropDown ID is :CPhase
Button ID is :AddRowBTN
GridView ID is :PhasesTempGrid
Now whats the story is ?After adding some data into textboxes , when a user clicks ADDRow BTN , that data gets saved into datatable , then that datatable gets binded to gridview and it shows my textboxes data in it .
What i want to achieve ?In my gridview i am use templateField and inside that template field there are textboxes ( Let the users edit the row without clicking any button ) .
Take an example of dummy data and problem persisting in there :for e.g i put some data in textboxes :ACode = "ABCD"ADesc = "EFGH"ASeq = "HIJK"Then i click Add BTN , it saves the data in datatable and show in gridview , now if i do this in gridview :ACode = "Edited ABCD"ADesc = "Edited EFGH too"ASeq = "WoW There"Then i click Add BTN , it removes the edited record in gridview and shows original data which had came earlier from textboxes :ACode = "ABCD"ADesc = "EFGH"ASeq = "HIJK"I don't want that to be done ... Simple is that user can enter data from textboxes , click the btn to submit into grid then he can edit the data like he want ... data must not get flashed , here's my coding i have done so far :

When i navigate to certain page, gridview should be display.
Conditions is:
1)There is no data to display.(now only i am going to enter data). I am not binding gridview to any datatable/dataset
2)Initially it can show 10 or 20 empty rows.(all row should be editable. we should enter the value in that rows.)
3)When i click next button after entering 20 rows it should add another row. and so on..
i want a gridview like excel sheet.

The data displays in the gridview control fine with both edit & delete options but when I attempt to delete, it has no effect. How do I force removal of the relevant row from both gridview and table? Most of the documentation I have unearthed shows how to achieve this when connected to a SQL table which is clearly not the case here.

I am Developing a database web applicationI am Creating web controls on page at runtime i.e in Page_Init event. No textbox are placed on .aspx page at design timeI have a datatable filled with a single record.now i want to bind a textbox (created at runtime) with a column of datatable so that when a page is loaded value in datatable's column is displayed in textbox.Other Important thing i want is when i make any changes in Textbox, It should be reflected automatically in a column to which textbox is binded. So while saving records i can save it directly from datatable. I dont want to write following tedious code before savinge.g.

I have seen several post on this but I cant seem to make any head way. I have a createUserWizard that creates a user and on my CompleteWizardStep I have a drop down that needs data bound to it. The error I am getting is 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.' Null referenctException my code is:

My Problam is on Capturing Text Box and Dropdown seleted itam from grid view i create a gridview with Empty DB binding using [URL] this senirio. I only used setinitional value() function and called its in page load as discribed in above lonk. insted of adding New record Button i callled a java scrit code discribed below. and i also create a button (SAVE) to capture a value intered in text box .
