In the above dropdownlist when i select the Poor from any of the dropdownlist, popup screen will open in that one textbox is there reason for poor will type. Then I have one ok button and click that button. When I select the any dropdownlist from the above, commonly one popup will be open if we select the above dropdownlist in that popup screen one textbox is there reason for pooor will type.
My question is how do you know which dropdownlist is selected and give the reasonf for poor. For that how can i do in asp.net.
I am having two dropdownlist in my project,one dropdownlist for empid, another dropdownlist for month, if the user select the empid, the values are retrieved in the textbox.
In the second dropdownlist, if the user select the month in the dropdownlist it will display the leave details, its all working fine, if the user again select the first dropdownlist that means empid, I want to show the second dropdownlist as select month, how can do this.....
I have a panel which has a repeater within it. Within the repeater I have a few controls. One of those controls is a Drop Down list which has an OnSelectedIndexChanged event. I can get this to fire without issue but I cannot find my DropDownList control within that repeater within the SelectedIndexChanged event . The repeater has an OnItemDataBound event and I can use the RepeaterItemEventArgs to find the control using e.Item.FindControl("ControlName") without issue but when that event occurs is NOT when I need to find the DropDownList.
What I want to do is have another control's Visible property be set to "true" when the value of the DropDownList meets a certain value. As far as I know I can only do this during the SelectedIndexChanged event and I can't change the signature of the event by trying to use RepeaterItemEventArgs.
I wanted to create a dropdownlist that would trigger an asynchronous postback and update the Gridview inside the Updatepanel. However, no matter what I do, when the dropdownlist changes, nothing in the UpdatePanel will change, even the TestLabel....I've been banging my head against the walls for days on this -- why won't this work? When I remove the UpdatePanel code and triggers, all the code works, eg, you change the dropdownlist andthen gridview updates -- but it refreshes the page and this is why I wanted to put the Gridview inside an Updatepanel to make it look cleaner.[Code]....
I have a dropdown in gridview. I bind the gridview after not ispostback condition. Now if i select drodown lsit value "Full" from the first row of gridview i need all other rows of dropdown in gridview to be selected "full" programtically and after that if the user wants to change other row dropdown to "half" then he can change it.

I have a dropdown list within a listview 'EditItemTemplate' and 'InsertItemTemplate" which I am trying to populate from the database with code behind with ItetmDataBound event. Problem is I am getting NullException when I use this code which works fine for ItemTemplate.
I am using Visual Studio 10/ASP4 but I am sure this problem is me. I created a program and got it all working. GridView and DetailsView, edit, insert and delete all works. :-)... I have spent 4 solid days attempting to have a simple DropDownList with three items on it EDIT a record. Lots of GOOGLeing for suggestions. It just will not work. The insert dropdown works fine(thats how I created the record). I wrote a new simplified program with just the detailsview and the edititem dropdownlist. Still can't get it to work. The detailsview data has a record and the "mode" field (char(20)) has three letters "FTP" in it. The letters display on the Detailsview. I can edit fine but when I add the following drop down list the page aborted with a
"'DropmodeEdit' has a SelectedValue which is invalid because it does not exist in the list of items. Parameter name: value"
Yet there is only one record and it HAS "FTP" in it! The list has FTP in it? I just don't get it, why?
I added an ondatabinding routine and breakpointed it in the try/catch and found the selectedindex pointed to the correct entry and the items list had the correct entry with no spurious data or spaces. The data being passed displayed good in the detailsview, Am I correct in assuming that is bound to the dropdownlist automatically? or is there some majic that I did not get from Rob Burke?

What is the best way to get the value of a dropdownlist control before it has been changed and after it has been changed. Can it be done in one routine? In other words, if a user clicks on a dropdownlist control and changes it's value, I need to get the old value and the new value and send both these values as input parameters to a stored proc.
I would like to perform a postback when the droplistlist selected value changes, but only if it was changed via expanding the downdown and clicking an option, not is the user tabs to the control and uses the arrow keys. The reason for this is simple, keyboard accessibility.
