I'm having problems binding controls at runtime. I've some user controls which need to be bind to the page when one of the dropdownlist selected index changed.
I can able to bind them properly but when if there is any postback event happens I am losing the controls and control values which were created runtime.
How do I avoid binding them again and again.
I've an item template inside a grid which has a <asp:LinkButton/> inside it. I assign the text for the link button as

Tags can have a string with multiple tags in it delimited by space. For eg. "sports", "sports cricket", "sports cricket sachin" are the examples of some possible tags.
I want to create a button for each tag inside the string. How can i create the controls (server control - linkbutton) dynamically during runtime inside the grid item template?

The scenario is i have a dropdown list bearing a collection of items (say ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE) with the default value selected as 'ONE'. Now, when the client changes the index (say the client selects 'TWO'), a confirmation box is prompted asking 'Are you sure want to change the index?' with the buttons YES & NO. Now, the problem is, if YES button is clicked then its working fine as the index is changed. But when NO button is clicked in the confirmation box, I do not want the index to be changed to 'TWO' and it should be holding the previously selected value which was 'ONE'. How can I do this? For which event should I write the code, as I cant think of writing the code for the IndexChanged event because here the index change has already occured and since there is no 'IndexChanging' event in ASP.NET, where shall i write the code

I am facing one strange problem,I have a gridview in which the last two columns have checkboxes and on those checkboxes click event I am doing some database operations.I also have one checkbox that is outside the gridview which actually shows or hides some of the gidview columns.This was all working well but now I have shifted that grid to a user control because I have to use it in two pages.The problem now is,When the page first loads and I click the check box or any control in the page that is outside the grid then it works perfectly.But once I click any of the check box within grid view column then its behavior chages, now even if I click the checkbox that is outside the grid then also the checkbox_CheckedChanged event of the checkbox that is whithin gridview is fired.That checkbox event then behaves something like a page_load event that is called for every page load and for every event with in the page after it is called once.

I have a dropdownlist as a template item in a gridview - it populates fine and with the right values. I have an SelectedIndexChanged on the dropdownlist, and has set it for postback. In the SelectedIndexChanged event, I would like to know where the control that fired this event is, - which row in the gridview is it in? How do I get this info? If the row was selected it would be easy, but the only thing that has happened in that row is that the dropdown has changed value and consequently the SelectedIndexChanged event has been fired - is that enough to know which row the event has been fired from?

I had a DropDownList that has names as its items ("John", "Mark"). By default the SelectedIndex is "John". Upon changing its index and selecting "Mark" the event OnSelectedIndexChanged will be triggered. When I use ddlName.SelectedIndex it will return only the index for "Mark" which I want to get is the index of "John".
I wanted to create a dropdownlist that would trigger an asynchronous postback and update the Gridview inside the Updatepanel. However, no matter what I do, when the dropdownlist changes, nothing in the UpdatePanel will change, even the TestLabel....I've been banging my head against the walls for days on this -- why won't this work? I have Gridview which allows user to edit record.I already build the event to save the new record, time and user machine information to a log database.However, this means a whole record is saved to the log... if the user just change one or two column/field out of say 20 fields, then there is a lot of waste. I have a panel which has a repeater within it. Within the repeater I have a few controls. One of those controls is a Drop Down list which has an OnSelectedIndexChanged event. I can get this to fire without issue but I cannot find my DropDownList control within that repeater within the SelectedIndexChanged event . The repeater has an OnItemDataBound event and I can use the RepeaterItemEventArgs to find the control using e.Item.FindControl("ControlName") without issue but when that event occurs is NOT when I need to find the DropDownList.
What I want to do is have another control's Visible property be set to "true" when the value of the DropDownList meets a certain value. As far as I know I can only do this during the SelectedIndexChanged event and I can't change the signature of the event by trying to use RepeaterItemEventArgs.

In the above dropdownlist when i select the Poor from any of the dropdownlist, popup screen will open in that one textbox is there reason for poor will type.
