Dec 2, 2010is there a way in ASP.NET to find out, wheter a *.aspx page was changed.I need it to refresh a cached static variable in a base-page constructor.

There is a remove button in user control which is used to remove the control from the aspx page. If I click on remove button of the user control, how can I find that which user control's remove button is clicked from the aspx page.

In the above dropdownlist when i select the Poor from any of the dropdownlist, popup screen will open in that one textbox is there reason for poor will type. Then I have one ok button and click that button. When I select the any dropdownlist from the above, commonly one popup will be open if we select the above dropdownlist in that popup screen one textbox is there reason for pooor will type.

I created a report with a table which was populated by a procedure.
I changed the schema from dbo to something else using scripts i found on www.
Now when i try to run my report, it says that the stored procedure doesnt exist, but I can open said proc in query analyser and run it there?

Aug 27, 2010I have a panel which has a repeater within it. Within the repeater I have a few controls. One of those controls is a Drop Down list which has an OnSelectedIndexChanged event. I can get this to fire without issue but I cannot find my DropDownList control within that repeater within the SelectedIndexChanged event . The repeater has an OnItemDataBound event and I can use the RepeaterItemEventArgs to find the control using e.Item.FindControl("ControlName") without issue but when that event occurs is NOT when I need to find the DropDownList.
What I want to do is have another control's Visible property be set to "true" when the value of the DropDownList meets a certain value. As far as I know I can only do this during the SelectedIndexChanged event and I can't change the signature of the event by trying to use RepeaterItemEventArgs.

Visual Studio :: Web Site / Web Application Templates Seem Changed - Default.aspx Only With Site.master
Oct 21, 2010Using Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. I was used to creating a web app anytime and I would get a default page for starters and be happy. But today I find that when I pick either the ASP.NET Web Site or ASP.NET Web Application templates I get site.master and a bunch of site admin files that I don't want. Alternately when I select the empty versions of those templates, I get almost nothing at all. An almost empty web.config page and no Default.aspx page. There is nothing magical about having a default.aspx page in place, but it is an indicator of a change when I can only get a virtually completely empty website or a website with a bunch of bells and whistles I don't want.
Also, for some reason, when I create a new app or website as just noted, in the Solution Explorer I get aspx.designer.cs files showing as well as web.config files for both debug and release. Somehow some settings and templates must have changed, or am I missing something here? How can I get my settings/templates to go back to the way they were?

Sep 19, 2010I have a grid view where the user can change pages at either the top or the bottom of the grid view. I want the view to go back to the top whenever a user changes the page, whether they are changing from the top or the bottom. I've tried using anchors and javascript to achieve this but it does not work. The javascript is executed and the user is taken to the top of the gridview, this can be seen by placing an alert after the javascript to change the view. But the last thing that happens on the page change is that the window is returned to it's previous position (the bottom of the page). Is there any way of doing this?

My purpose is to modified some data only for current page in a gridview. I call this function in page load and GridView_PageIndexChanged events. When it's called in page load event, it works fine. But when it's called in PageIndexChanged event, only the rows on the first page in GridView are looped through. For example, if I click page 5, the rowStartIndex becomes 100 = 5 x 20 (my pagesize). The if condition becomes itemsRead >= 100 andAlso itemsRead < 120. But after itemsRead is increased to 19, the For each gridViewRow loop stops and the if condition is never satisfied.

Jan 13, 2010After some code change I have published my AJAXised web application to the server and the application failes to work properly - something weird is going on, as all .aspx pages are displayed as an ASPX markup text (page declaration, html controls, etc.), rather than a page is being rendered as an html. I have not changed the webconfig, only changed my pages' content/code behind.

We provide the application in three languages (English, Dutch & French) which you can switch all the time. This has worked all the time for all users, well that's what we think anyway.
Yesterday I found out that switching from one to another language isn't working for 2 of our users. So I started testing a bit and I always got this error.
I'll try to explain what happens behind the doors when changing the language:
First of all the current language is saved in a session so we don't have to check the user row every time a page loads. Besides that we save the language in the users row in the database.

This isnt horrible because I can make sure the forms work, but ideally I would like it to complete everything from the users point of view.

Oct 11, 2010I wrote a test page that does a bunch of busy work in a method called at page load. This process as I have it now takes around 12 seconds.
If I try to load another page while the first long running page is loading, this second page doing nothing except writing out a world, it doesn't load until the first long running page is finished.
Why is this the case? I would think IIS would be able to handle multiple concurrent connections, it seems crazy that one long running page would stop every other page in the application from loading. I must be missing something or not understand how IIS works.
I would think multiple independent requests would be spawned on different threads. Is this only the case if the requests are from different sessions entirely? Are all requests from a single session bound to a single thread?

Oct 5, 2010I work in VS 2008. Whenver I add a server control(Label) and set it properties in aspx.vb and build the solution, I get the error "Label1 not declared". While analyzing this issue I noticed that the event handler statements for the Label1 where not added in the designer.asp.vb file. These statement would actually be added automatically when I drag and drop a control to my webpage.
I would also like to inform the scenario after which this problem came to me. I was working in VS 2008 , VS 2005 and VS 2003 in the same machine.Could this have caused the issue ?
Now each and everytime when I add a control, I am adding the "With Events" code in the designer page to make my build succesfull which makes me to spend more efforts.
